It's not Jews in general, it's the ultra-orthodox Jews. They are also a pain in the ass in Israel. They are the ones that hate the state of Israel and think the whole Levant belongs to them. They also are always moving onto land in the West Bank that are no go zones for Jews. They are pretty much pacifist and say stuff like "we don't need guns. We have the Torah." and then the IDF has to roll in and save their asses when the Palestinians try to behead them.
I think they are about 10%, or less, of the population in Israel. There are a lot of them in NYC as far as I know. I'm no expert on Judaism or Israel. I'm not Jewish and I don't fully understand the culture but I lived in Haifa for 14 months right out of college, my first real job, back in 2002.
