No.

Yes

maybe

Yes. Reddit is fucking flipping out, so you know it's a good thing.

>2019
>TardNet 1.0 launches
>only available to one hundred thousand people in California
>headquarters is understaffed because most redditors are communists and don't want a job
>maintenance staff hired based on professed knowledge of electronics, when in real life they're as clueless as you'd think
>only satellite is named the Fuck Every Dipshit Oligarchal Republican Asshole-1 (FEDORA-1) and literally runs on a hamster wheel
>Internet is free because communism, top speed literally 10kbps
>takes one whole day to load a porn trailer
>net neutrality still isn't back, they suddenly care about it and use it to restrict access to conservative webpages
>internet only works for periods at a time because the space hamster runs on the wheel for brief moments

>Late 2019

>Redditors find themselves between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
>Space hamster appears to have died due to lack of foresight on Reddit's part to supply food and water aboard FEDORA-1
>Having squandered all pooled resources towards the creation of TardNet 1.0, a replacement is not immediately feasible.
>TardNet 1.0 goes offline.
>Redditors, deprived of their sole means of shitposting among themselves, and unwilling to cave to 'greedy corporate overlords' become psychotic and suicidal.
>Meanwhile, on Sup Forums, business as usual.
>Feels good man!

shut the fuck up retard

now this is whirr posting

Stay salty, fuckwad.

That and like 5 anti free speech organizations.
Made people very suspicious.

you can sue the government if they limit free speech because, you know, the fucking constitution.

good fucking luck doing anything about corporations censoring the internet though, since NN was repealed

dumb fucks

MOAR FFS

It made all the right people lose their shit so it must be good. Here is MessNBC looking like an idiot when accidentally interviewing someone that knows what they are talking about:
dailycaller.com/2017/12/14/msnbc-anchor-loses-net-neutrality-debate-with-former-fcc-chairman-video/

I don't know but he killed my sides.

>x doesnt like it so it's good
>y likes it so its bad

have you ever considered independent thought?

>we'll build our own alternative

Free market at work. Thanks based pajeet!

underrated

Have you considered reading the whole post instead of what your short attention span can manage?

Strange, for being broken since the repel of net neutrality, the internet seems to be working just fine for me so far.

...

>ywn be this new again
welcome to the site, bro!

mfw don’t understand the joke. :(((

Solid analysis as always

who am i supposed to believe?

You damn right he did, fuck the lefty fags that are mad!

He showed how utterly compromised the internet is and how far reaching the dem shill network has become.

Do i really need a kid in a filipino call centre posting a thread on a gardening forum screeching for kony2012- tier action on net neutrality in between a discussion about best food for cymbidium orchids and why have my gardenia petals gone brown?

Yes

Amazing how people realise shareblue etc are blanketing reddit with rubbish threads but they cant see how they are frothed up by bots

Even here people get spun into a tizzy quite easily

Pahjeet my son, you can choose beautiful, open free internet, or even shittier corporate internet?

Muh invisible hand fags like this guy are the reason my county has worse internet coverage and speed than some third world countries because the companies only want to sell to cityfags. Actually, I hope the internet is fucked if it pisses off soy sipping city people.

I like how going back to 2015 rules is considered destroying the internet. It's the same rules we had for 6 of the 8 years Obama was in office.

This is a good move for consumers. Imagine you sign up for a data plan and get 5 GB of data per month. Previously, your provider could optimize the network for certain sites so that YouTube or Netflix wouldn't be as expensive to transfer because of regional mirrors or caches. Therefore, they could say that YouTube and Netflix won't count towards your monthly data. Under Net Neutrality, that would be illegal. In other words, NN is actually costing the consumer more.

The other argument often used to support NN is about "slow lanes". Internet service is already tiered based on speed. I pay $50/month for 100 Mbit/s. I could upgrade to a full gigabit for $70 if I wanted to. That's how the internet worked since the god damn 90s when options besides dial-up become available.

The next argument is about ISPs slowing down competitors. That's where the FTC would step in. Anti-competitive laws are still on the books. If anything, the FTC is in a better position to stop anti-competitive behavior than the FCC is.

Bullshit. ISPs and the Verizon-FCC shill clearly want to help the consumer and save us money (at the expense of their profits)>

Have you considered not being a contrarian retarded corporate cocksucker?

fuck off Ashit Pai

The way I see it, I have a choice in my area between one of two isps, Spectrum or Verizon fios. Thats it. No other fucking choices in this free bullshit economy.

Fios is shit in my area, theres no two ways about it. Spectrum isn't much better. I don't have a fucking choice, its either one or the other. Both of these companies have expressed their happiness in seeing NN 2015 repealed. I'm imagining the scenario where both of these companies in my area jerk each other off in order to fuck me over. Nobody could stop them, and if they could it'd take months or years for the legal process to run its course. So no, he didn't save the internet, but he probably got a decent meal at Olive garden from some cable companies

>Did he save the internet?
Yes.

no. but it doesnt matter because the shit is repealed.

...unless. . . somebody comes up with the legislation to find a way to sensibly regulate what the ISPs can do. would plebbit and everyone else back president trumps internet freedom bill???? CHESSSSSSSS

You're lucky even to have 2 guys. I have Spectrum and AT&T in my area. However, AT&T being the max jews that they are, haven't touched their shit infrastructure for years. As a result, I can't actually buy their service if I wanted to, it doesn't actually work.
So then I only got one option in Spectrum. They've been raising the price over the years and all I can do is take it like a bitch.

This, half of Sup Forums is happy because reddit is not

Which one of you fuckers keeps entering that swamp in the fucking first place? Just let them throw shit at each other and keep that shit out of here

whoever gets the most upvotes

If you don't like the service from either provider, then just cancel it and don't buy from either one. You don't have to have an internet connection to live. You are obviously finding value in having those services or you wouldn't be paying for it.

This is just another case of ignorant millennials using their fancy iPhones to tweet about how capitalism sucks with absolutely no sense of irony that they wouldn't have any of those things under socialism. You can screech all you want about how you hate big corporations, yet you continue to buy from them. You hate ISPs but continue to pay them. You hate Disney, but are fanatical about seeing the latest Star Wars film. Your generation is garbage. I think the reason you hate capitalism is because under capitalism, it is assumed that you know how best to spend your own money and millennials are proving that they have no fucking clue what they're doing. They spend six figures on a liberal arts degree, only want to live in San Francisco with high living expenses, and then blame the system rather than themselves for the shit choices they've made in life.

yes, he did.
net neutrality is nothing more than government regulation.
regulation that only the free market should decide upon.
none of the things that people are saying are going to happen are going to happen.
there are regulations put in place out side of the internet to prevent companies things in the first place.

STOP BEING RETARDS!

>Did he save the internet?

yes?

he removed this:

>No carrier shall undertake the construction of a new line or of an extension of any line, or shall acquire or operate any line, or extension thereof, or shall engage in transmission over or by means of such additional or extended line, unless and until there shall first have been obtained from the Commission a certificate that the present or future public convenience and necessity require or will require the construction, or operation, or construction and operation, of such additional or extended line

enjoy soon being able to chose from multiple isp's each competing to bring you the best service

*prevent companies from doing such things in the first place.

sorry.

I have a monopoly where I live, anti competitive and monopoly laws don't mean jack shit. I pay 70 bucks a month for the privilege of 0.65 mbs and a landline phone. The system is fucked already and this will make it worse. My neighbors can't sell their house because there is no internet because it wasn't profitable. You're playing directly into the hands of the jewiest Jews.

>a certificate that the present or future public convenience and necessity

this is the bit that will help you.

>future public convenience and necessity

oh, there's already 1 ISP who is having a monopoly? Well, it's not necessary to change that, so you, the new ISP is gonna get DENIED.

Yeah bitch, now shut up!

>That Legal Speak Tongue Twister is actually in US Code.

No one is forcing you to buy internet service. You can complain all you want about paying $70/month for internet, but you obviously find that transaction to be valuable to you or you wouldn't pay for it at all. The free market works because both people involved in a transaction find value in it. Sure, you might wish you got a better deal, but if you really thought the service wasn't worth $70/month, then you wouldn't be paying for it. I wish I could buy a mansion for $1, but I live in the home I do because although I wish I could have gotten it cheaper, I still thought it was worth the price I paid.

page 43 : transition.fcc.gov/Reports/1934new.pdf

legalese is written like that

I can't do my fucking job without internet, and I can't move because no one will buy my house. If the free market worked I would have a choice of services but I don't, and there have been talks that they will end service here soon even though we are willing to pay. Internet is a utility and needs to be treated like one, it's just like the Tennessee valley authority, they weren't going to bring power to Appalachia and something had to be done

that is by far the dumbest argument I have seen yet

>NN goes through
>After years of comfort in their homes, Americans finally get up from their computer and notice the world around them.
>The population starts getting redpilled
>Start realizing that their population is slowly dwindling.
>Except this time they can't escape it like they used to.
>Even television leaves a bitter taste in their mouth as the entire network is one sided
>The sheep of America finally start preparing
and start exercising
for the perfect time to strike.
>Illegals and nignogs are wiped out faster than most dogs live for.
>A new age of prosperity begins for America begins
This is a good thing.

So....

Anyone going to address how the internet existed just fine without net neutrality from 1990 to 2008?

>a thinking person

ALARM ALARM!

Yes.
Retard.

nn is like using your signal in the turning lane or voting

yeah fuck off, net neutrality is a good thing... Why? cause we've never had it, and look at the meme of australian internet

I'd like to believe this thread is full of bait, but knowing how retarded people are here I highly doubt it. If you're cheering for this faggot you should kill yourself.

...

It wasn't de jure, but there were laws and precedent that imply it's existance.
It's like saying that the individual right to gun ownership did not exist until Helen v DC. It wasn't codified in exact terms, but decades and centuries of interpretation made sure it continued to exist into paper form. However, we all know the leeway possible by our legal system could've let it go both ways, and we could've been noguns today.

>you can sue the government if they limit free speech because, you know, the fucking constitution
Sue the government in government courts, there is no way the government could be corrupt or be a leftist or right wing circlejerk even in the courts.
>good fucking luck doing anything about corporations censoring the internet though, since NN was repealed
Get another internet provider. Not that this will be an issue since it wasn't an issue before NN.

oh puhleez

Since when has a Republican ever done anything that would actually benefit people instead of corporations?

The guy is a pure Republican shill. He will be richly rewarded by his masters.

Another thing that people don't seem to notice is the fact that they're removing it for a reason, if ISPs don't have a problem with it and it shouldn't affect us why are they removing it?

Deregulation will allow independent ISPs to build infrastructure. The current rules allow Comcast, Xfinity and Centurylink to litigate against any new infrastructure projects. Startup ISPs never make it because it would cost $2-5 million for the equipment, and $30-$50 in legal fees to cut through the red tape created by the large ISPs.

Seinfeld sucks

There is no anti-corporate party in America. Period. It's just a matter of which Jews you want to win.

$30-$50 million in legal fees

Tell Reddit and Sharia Blue Balls that Sup Forums says HI.

Facebook, Twitter and Amazon are pissed because they hog all the bandwidth and are going to get throttled

>No carrier shall undertake the construction of a new line or of an extension of any line, or shall acquire or operate any line, or extension thereof, or shall engage in transmission over or by means of such additional or extended line, unless and until there shall first have been obtained from the Commission a certificate that the present or future public convenience and necessity require or will require the construction, or operation, or construction and operation, of such additional or extended line

>this is somehow bad for startups

'free markets' dont stay free without regulation, duh. they naturally evolve to monopolies. everyone used to understand this simple common sense point. now fox news has dumbed the discourse down below tard level.

The Republican free market dogmatists seem to always forget this little point. They think if you take the refs off the field, then football would be a much fairer game. right.

hahahah

>Yes. Reddit is fucking flipping out, so you know it's a good thing.

you have brain damage

You sold me at FEDORA-1

No, you've just fucked yourselves over you retarded burgers...

I hope one day stars and stripes disappear from Sup Forums because their ISPs cucked them out of access to Sup Forums.

Tell Reddit or Share Blue Balls Sup Forums says HI and stay salty, your tears are delicious.

>you can sue a cake company for not baking a fag cake
>you cant sue an ISP for removing assess to right wing websites

I'm so glad for Ajit Pai. I always felt so bad for Comcast because they never enough money. They were giving me internet but I still wanted to just give them more money. Now they can control what I see and I can pay them more! It's a win-win if you ask me. Go Ajit Pai! I suck your dick!!

Yes

Is that you ghost?

Posted from his iPhone X using corporate 4G connection.

No after net neutrality was repealed he announced that the FCC in the FTC are partnering up to manage the internet

It definitely increases options for existing ISPs to make more money with what they have, instead of expanding their business like a proper enterprise. Historically they've been resistant to building infrastructure, mostly because it's a huge expense, but also because they don't really need to.
NN is not a solution to America's internet problems, as it's technically been knocking around for decades, but removing it doesn't do us any favors either.

That isn't bad.
Lay people can actually understand it

Nah, I'm not Ghost. I could never that great man's boots.

>mfw I unironically support removing new neutrality

>FREEDOM for ISPs to fuck my ass is FREE MARKETS WINNING!!!

brain damage

The core idea of Net Neutrality is to enshrine the Internet akin to the American Freedoms. The idea is to keep the Internet as neutral ground where no ISP can shape traffic based on biases or corporate interests.

To have an entity have maintained freedom, the freedom must always be defended. Net Neutrality at its heart is a good thing, but due to the politicization any attempts to get it enshrined will likely result in jackholes attempting to slip bonus shit in.

>when you never grew out of the meme internetz battlez so you’re 25 and unironically post about le 4chun army xddd

The problem is that not all traffic is equal though.

I take it you're a french canadian, and ISPs can lower speed of right wing websites if they wanted to.

Yes, but as usual, the retards won't get it. They'll hunt him. They'll cast him out. They'll set the dogs on him. But he's the hero the internet needed.

You're right, Sup Forums should receive lowest priority.

Yes, and free speech as well.

He's creating TV version 2.0.

The internet had too much freedom, this is not allowed.

Take this crap to the general, please.
Fuck having 20 open threads on this crap.

>The problem is that not all traffic is equal though.

traffic happens because people pay ISPs to connect their house with 1gig/sec connections that they use for whatever the fuck they want.

Don't shill for ISPs bitching that its hard for them to deliver the services they were paid to give to their customers.
