One Piece 856

Spoiler pics soon.

>Bobbin

Luffy is yonko level.

...

This is all according to plan

This will be canon soon.

Plan when?

why are some of these manga scanlations so terrible? hasn't vis translated most of the series by now?

I hope so

Oda's editors love Pudding, that means she will be redeemed soon.

Nver ever

ODA YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF POOP, CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WILL YET AGAIN, YET AGAIN GET AWAY WITH ANOTHER NOTHING HAPPENS CHAPTER

>Le editor meme

I want to have a threesome with Reijuu and Ichiji

I wanna fuck 'em both, is that gay?

It's not gay if there's a girl involved.

This user has it right.
I agree that Bm (and heck, the Yonkos and the NW as a whole) were underwelming, but that's because Oda put the Strawhats powerlevels way too high. They have been steamrolling the NW since the beginning, had any real difficulty only when faced with the top cats of every island they went in.
I think in Oda's mind, Luffy is easily nearing Admiral's level and has been in that territory since the start of Part 2. It's a very shitty narrative decision, but if you accept it every fight will make sense.

>I don't think you need to put Luffy on near admiral level to argue him beating Cracker

It's not just Cracker, he fodderized the whole of the New World sans Yonkos in the Colosseum, defeated (with some help) Doflamingo, the guy who can make fodder of Vice-Admirals and WB's commanders, handled a (non-serious) Fujitora to a standstill days after beating Doflamingo, AND after defeating a Yonko commander with help from a fodder AND tanking kicks from Sanji he defeated practically all of the lower-ranking soldiers of Big Mom.
The guy is clearly supposed to be one step away from being able to face off admirals by himself.

I agree that Yonko's crew were always overestimated based on expectations alone (people were seriously thinking Marco was admiral level for fucks sake), something that I did too and I still find very stupid that no one except the Yonkos himself can face off against admirals , but Luffy himself has faced against all possible kind of fighters by now so it's pretty clear where he stand.

He is, he could easily pull a Buggy at this point.

Hiluluk said he saw the miraculous healing cherry blossoms in an island in "far west." From Drum westwards is only Grand Line and later the New World. Later we saw in flashback Roger and Whitebeard drinking under many cherry trees. Maybe same island? Japan is know for it's cherry trees and Wano is based on Japan. Did Hiluluk visit Wano during his criminal days?

We have never seen a serious admiral fight beyond Akainu beating on WB is reason for my skepticism. I want to see an admiral taking notable damage from someone beyond a yonkou before I pass judgment.

I treat it in a way that you might have previously viewed Marco. Appearances can be deceiving. I won't claim that Luffy can be at a level I don't truly understand and, in regards to Cracker, I don't think it's necessary.

Shichibukai isn't a level, retard

>Oda's editors love Pudding
really? great taste.

Once he masters the g4, maybe, but not now

...

>handled a (non-serious) Fujitora to a standstill days after beating Doflamingo

I agree with everything else, but did Fujitora even hit him at all throughout the fight?

read the text he posted, so you won't look like a retard again
>believing someone in here

>usopp's backstory
holy shit. i'm only 41 chapters in but this series is blowing me away

>inb4 reddit tier replies
"It will only get better xd"
"This is just the beginning xd"
"Enjoy"

>crying at Usopp's backstory
Wow, you're going to drown in your tears once you get to the actually sad backstories

> 41 chapters in
Keep reading, user. Only 814 chapters left.

you still have chopper, robin, and brook.

There it is

But it's true though

slowly but surely getting there. this series is seriously so good, lads

You're gonna love Chopper's backstory.

And again

You'll die at brook's backstory if usopp's made you cry

>NO FUN ALLOWED
Hackposters really are the cancer of these threads

Don't remember, but he wasn't seriously injured either.

>people actually believe that Big Mom will go down in this arc
How can you be so dumb? There's no way two Yonkou are going down in two consecutive arcs, that would be just dumb. Big Mom doesn't have to have her whole organization go down for the arc to have a satisfying conclusion, especially since the main conflict can be solved in other ways unlike most arcs.

Not going down means that she can remain in the story, Oda is clearly going for the new generation rising to power in the New World, but that doesn't mean that they are just going to wreck two Yonkou days apart, pretty much fucking all the islands under their territory for pirates to attack. Luffy with his fleet can protect some of it, but I doubt it will be that fast, especially with how long the Shichibukai have persisted in the story.

He was pretty much unscathed and ready to end Luffy and the rest of the pirates on Dressrosa by dropping the city on them.

>one piece will end soon

...

What is the best non luffy fight?

Brook vs Big Mom

Shit tier opinions incoming:

>Zoro's shenanigans at Whiskey Peak
>The duel on Banaro

Make sure you keep on reading without skipping and enjoy the ride Oda delivers.
Don't lurk around here yet, i'm serious.
You can't unread what has been read forever you fucking nakama.

I actually really enjoyed ace vs blackbeard from the anime

Usopp vs Perona.

Nami vs Kalfia

Is Smoothie stronger than Sanji?

...

Ussop and Chopper vs Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas

>wooow why do people in the one piece thread like one piece what the fuck

Zoro vs Kaku

Kaido is handsome.

Something to bear in mind.

Whether or not Luffy does end up fighting and defeating BM in this arc, One Piece will have to start elevating the events to things like "defeating an Admiral" and "defeating a Yonkou" fairly soon. Let's say the arc in which they defeat Kaidou lasts for 2-3 years, as would be fitting considering Doffy took 2+. With only 4 more similar arcs, that's another 8-12 years for One Piece. There also has to be arcs for defeating Blackbeard, defeating the Admirals probably, other crews of the Supernovas perhaps, Coby and other Marines like Smoker, delving into the truth of the Void Century, and of course finally finding One Piece.

The point is, we can't keep treating it like it's early days. Like Luffy CANNOT fight and defeat a Yonkou yet. If Luffy keeps on not ascending to his potential and it's keeps on being "too early" for him to beat a Yonkou, the series will last for another 20 years or so.

If that's moving you, you are going to be absolutely destroyed by later events. Not that it shouldn't be appreciated, but I think that's quite far down the list of powerful moments, even though it's still better than any of the shit you get in other comparable manga.

I wouldn't put that past Oda, but her redeeming herself would be stupid, boring and repetitive.

Kaidou has a third eye or a large vein?

What the hell is he? That a fruit mutation or some forgotten tribe? What are those horns, begusu jesasu save us

Strong eyebrow ridges.

Sanji vs Kuroobi. I will always love that final barrage of kicks.

It was heavily hinted last chapter that Pudding is his daughter, speedy-kun.

I really like those two moments as well.

The Whiskey Peak thing was a great moment for conveying just how powerful Zoro (and by extension Luffy and Sanji) actually are. So far we'd seen Zoro be pretty cool but I'd say his most outstanding moment so far was probably getting totally wrecked by Mihawk. It's not a fair comparison for a level 3 Zoro to fight a level 500 Mihawk but it still made him seem like a typical shounen character who starts out weak and slowly gets stronger. It could also make out like Mihawk wasn't THAT good, it's just that he shat on a rookie. Whiskey Peak really put that into context.

Banaro was great because it felt like a peek ahead into more powerful characters fighting - slightly DBZ-ish, which I don't mind. It was also the conclusion of a subplot that had been running since Drum Island and the moment you first got a glimpse of BB's plan.

Don't forget the Gorosei and the moon race, Vegapunk, etc. user. You're absolutely right though, One Piece really needs to pick up the pace and start getting into its end game soon if the series is supposed to be over halfway done.

I think we need another timeskip tbqfh. The strawhats are just still way too weak.

Reminder that the timeskip was nearly 7 years ago.

>Like Luffy CANNOT fight and defeat a Yonkou yet.
I'm all for amping up Luffy's strength so he can fight bigger foes. But honestly it still feels too soon for him to be taking on certain foes. He struggled against Doflamingo and the guys internal organs were shredded. I would like to see more 1v1 fights where his opponent doesn't have to be handicapped in some way.

An alternative is to have the Yonkou deal with each other during this war that's brewing in the background.

Whitebeard vs the world

Either Zoro vs. Mr. 1 or Zoro vs. Kuma

Whitebeard Vs. Everyone is also pretty great.

I agree 100% that it FEELS too early. The thing is, there's a dissonance that Oda's accidentally created by having all post-TS events only cover a few days even though the TS was 7 IRL years ago. So in an in-universe timeline, yeah it seems too early for Luffy and co. to pop out of the TS and a few weeks later be defeating Yonkou. Totally agree. But it's been 7 fucking years since the TS. That's very roughly the time it took to get from Luffy first eating the Gomu Gomu no Mi to partway through the Water 7 arc. If Oda keeps timewasting like this and not sufficiently moving things forwards, it won't feel ready for him to even scratch Kaidou until 2030 (that may actually not even be an exaggeration).

Yeah, there's so much more to do and looking at arcs like Dressrosa taking about 2 years, it's ridiculous to think how much longer it might have to go without some seriously anticlimactic montage stuff to quickly get through important events.

I actually think the timeskip was perhaps the worst thing Oda's done with the manga so far. It broke the story momentum we had of this continuous adventure, it bumped people up a few dozen "levels" so they could fight stronger foes but they're potentially still absolute shitters compared to most of the important enemies. So all it's let them do - if they're still too weak for the big leagues - is beat Doflamingo (given how they facerolled other post-TS stuff anyway).

...

Franky vs. SeƱor Pink just for the flashback.

ODA, WHERE'S MY NIGGA ZORO?

Year of Jinbe's death

Nice Nami, user.

I sort of agree with you. I think the series definitely lost something after the timeskip, though I think it was necessary in a pragmatic sense to get the crew at least durable enough to last in the NW. Doflamingo was pretty beastly, but it shouldn't have been THAT hard of a fight for Luffy. Doffy almost shit his fucking pants when Aokiji told him to get off of Smoker. And as you mentioned, Doffy had his insides literally shredded and it still took G4 to do anything to him.

I think GF is a really fucking cool power-up, but honestly, it should've been more of a showstopper. Maybe a handful of chapters for him to effortlessly stomp Doffy. He had to basically have Nami nerf him to beat him.

Remember when Luffy punched what he thought was Cracker in an instant? Yeah, that should've actually knocked him out.

I can't even imagine Luffy so much as bruising Kaidou, Akainu or Blackbeard right now.

Man, I'm tired as fuck. I meant G4, not GF, and I meant Cracker was nerfed by Nami so Luffy could bust up his biscuits.

Have a chocolate Nami.

Can you fuck off? No one cares

Which two characters that didn't fight between them would you like to see in a battle?

I can't wait for this to happen. The salty tears will have extra salt in because they're crying over a fat fucking fish.

No, no one cares that you're annoyed right now. I do care what he has to say and I do care about OP discussions.

Tashigi and Koala.

Also, Shanks and Lucci just to see Lucci get broken down to dust.

Imagine if this was Bleach and there was a genuinely good chance that the author had totally forgotten about Zoro's existence by now.

Spoiler pics when?

I still think it's too early for the strawhats to fully take out Big Mom. But this chapter might just explain what'll happen.
Two people have now been mysteriously shot in the night- Reiju, and Bobbin. We know Puddin shot Reiju, but who shot Bobbin? Unlike the Vinsmokes he's actually on Mom's side. All signs point to Capone.
I think this means Puddin isn't JUST planning to shoot the Vinsmokes at the party. She might have allied with Capone to take out Big Mom as a whole, which is why they've been slowly picking people off - Pekoms, Bobbin, etc.
The Strawhats are going to use this distraction to book it. And I wholly expect Big Mom to prevail, beat the tar out of Capone, then chase the Strawhats to Wano.
Bam, the giant war Kaido wanted. Beast Pirates and Wano vs. Big Mom Pirates vs. Strawhats + company.

In 5-6 hours

>zorofags can't go a few months without him when sanjifags had to deal with a year and a half absense
Good thing you marinefordbabbies weren't around for the strawhat separation from Amazon Lilly to the Timeskip, we would've had to deal with these dumb posts every thread.

How can you interpret a post making a joke about how bad a writer Kubo is as a post made by a Zoro fanboy who only started reading at Marfineford? Go to a doctor, user, you have some pretty bad brain problems.

>shit tier opinion
Lies and slander; Whiskey Peak was by far Zoro's most interesting fight. Not just incomprehensible sword clashes, tons of fun using the surrounding area by ducking into buildings, slicing up rooftops, and in general kicking ass, culminating in the short but also entertaining Zoro vs. Luffy. One of the best fights in the series by far.

I was actually just trying to reply to the one guy complaining where Zoro was, not your post about Kung. Just a mistake.

Horns are just a thing in One Piece that some people have.

I like the idea of war with multiple sides, but i doubt it will happen.

Nice, except that The Kaido's eyes are always obstructed. I hope he has crazy Bishie eyes like Wanze after Sanji kicked him.

Wasn't already explained by jimbe himself he didn't spin the roulette wheele? It smelled of death and trickery. So basicaly he didn't formally leave BM, just sneaky peaky cheeky breeki is backstabbing her right now with the strawhats

Honestly pissed off at how lame post-TS has been. Where the fuck are all the individual SH fights? The last time everyone fought on a somewhat equal level was Skypiea. I was immensely looking forward to all the fights in Dressrosa, everything was set up well, and the fights just felt lackluster. Also doesn't help the crew keeps splitting up in these arcs.

He's obviously lying about that. He wants to escape and he wants Luffy and the other SHs to come with him. If he tells Luffy that he's basically going to die in a day or two unless they go and defeat Big Mom, what do you think Luffy's going to do?

Think about it from a writing point of view. Why show BM telling Jinbe to spin the wheel at all if he was going to refuse? It doesn't add anything to the story. We don't see him refusing - which would at least at some drama or tension. So why show him being told, but then NOT show him refusing to spin it if that's what actually happened? Why make it so the only person that says he didn't spin it is Jinbe himself - not BM saying "That fishman has balls to defy me and not spin the wheel" etc. The only person we've seen talking about him not spinning is the only person who has a GREAT reason to lie about it.

The only reason you'd do those things like that is so that when Jinbe eventually is forced to admit that, we feel the idea was foreshadowed and not just retconned in.

Stop spamming turbo autist

Well I'd say Enies Lobby or Thriller Bark had that too. But yeah, as I said earlier in the thread, the TS seems to have been a mistake so far. Nothing good has come of it. They could've developed their new abilities like they did pre-TS. We didn't need a break in the story for G2 and G3. We didn't need a break in the story for Usopp to go from being scared of Captain Kuro to fighting against people that are considerably more powerful like CP9 or Perona. Or for Nami to go from Arlong's pet to taking out a member of CP9 or helping the SHs fight Oars. The arcs have really lacked heart since and the pacing has felt all off.

The newspaper also said that Jinbe didn't follow through.

>7 years since the timeskip

And people still wonder why people cry 'nothing happens'. We should have reached this point 4 years in max, not 7.

Stop getting triggered by people talking about your big blue boyfriend.

>MUH FIGHTS

Well maybe I've accidentally become Spee D. Reader but didn't we only know that nothing had happened to him as of 852 when he busts out Luffy?

We've had 3 chapters since then. Where is this newspaper? And wouldn't it be way too soon for something that happen within the last, what 12 hours or so to be in a newspaper in this setting? I mean, who the fuck even gave an interview to the reporters?

I'll tell you what the series really lost.

Oda died in the 2011 tsunami and they covered up his death.

I could believe that. Especially since his art frequently looks like he quickly sketched it with a sharpie while riding an old bus through a gravel pit.
