Why aren't you writing a manga Sup Forums?

Pic related is made by two artists and earns them $121 a month on their patreon. They only make 6-10 pages every month and each page should take around 1 hour to make judging from how it looks.
I mean seriously it looks like free money and it doesn't require much effort either.

Sup Forums's not even talented enough to be a scam artist.

I'm not a good artist. But I have written some stories that would make good manga. All I need is an artist.

>getting culturally enriched by the BOC
not my cup of tea

What would it be about?

because we are impure blood gaijin and not full blooded Japanese.

>manga
If I published something independently it wouldn't be manga, because and I don't speak nip.

Is this supposed to sound good? Once you split it between them, they're each making less than minimum wage.

One person could easily make what they did. It doesn't require two people.

Even assuming that writing added literally no time at all, you'd still be making just about minimum wage (probably a bit more for most places, my local one is very high).

It takes longer than that, I'm sure.
Assuming they only spent 6 hours on it every month, that's 10$ an hour each.
Assuming you could do it in 6 hours solo, that's 20$ an hour.

It's not really that good a deal.

Does it take to have japanese blood to be a good artist? ShindoL has some in him and surprise surprise, he's a successful hentai artist.

I do plan to make one

My only dilemma is to decide what to post it on

I'd be more than satisfied with minimum wage if I was 100% certain I was making min wage doing it.
I fucking hate real minimum wage jobs. Might as well do what you love on the time you choose without having people yelling at you.

>121 bucks a month divided between two people
>60 bucks a month
I'd prefer a real job, thanks.

Speak for yourself. I'd live like a king on 60 bucks, user.

>all these anons thinking this is the only income they have

It would basically God of war story, who needs another God of war?
The answer is PS4cucks.

This, i'd move to some third world shithole where you can be king with $60 a month, while i draw my orc vanilla story and enjoy life.

I probably could but I'd probably have draw something marketable like MMO fantasy some-sort-of race fetish placeholder comic like that and I have no interest.

I'd probably just make Isekai. I'm not creative.

well, if they live in a 3rd world shithole country probably thats enough for paying rent and buying gas

Me too, I was thinking about trying to make a VN.

The point is more that if you are doing it for the money its not worth the time and effort when even a minimum wage part time job would get you more.

Let's average it out at 8 pages per month.

8 pages at $121 / two people = $7.56 per page (which, according to OP, is per hour).

You really think I'd take minimum fucking wage just to be validated by some autists on the internet? Are you retarded?

Or you could go the tumblr rute, draw shit and get as much money.
Considering the level of most tumblr art it can't take them more than a few minutes to draw each pic.

I would rather sit on a my ass and draw things instead of doing a typical minimum wage part time job.

Or you could make an rpg maker porn game with horrifyingly ugly 3d models for the scenes and rake in four figures per month from retards easily like everyone else does.

@153532019
Oh, so you don't want to be validated? Fine. You're won't be getting this (You).

So they took someone else's idea and made a lower quality version of it to sell?

I thought about a VN option. Honestly, making a VN sounds easier than making a manga. Art wise at least.

Doing a series of illustrations and full body sprites sounds far more difficult than making a couple of manga pages a month.

You can go long periods of time with minimal, repeated movement and the same backgrounds. Doesn't sound that hard.

Yes but every single image would require a lot more work than a mere manga page.
6 pages a month is nothing.

>Is this supposed to sound good? Once you split it between them, they're each making less than minimum wage.

Are you fucking insane?, not only you get to draw a fucking weeaboo comic you also earn the same wage as if you were working on a low quality manga in Japan!

That NPC sounds even from a picture is just a character self insert.

Because manga is not written, it is drawn.

You can be the worst writter ever, as long as you draw well you can have a successful manga.

But you can't make manga with writting alone.

I do a little both, I will tell you that depending on the quality of the comic, comic book pages are a lot more complicated then full body sprite, or just stand alone illustrations, but that depends on how much you want to put into each. The comparison is a bit more complicated, because if just considering the drawings, then comic is more complicated hands down. However, Visual Novel is a multi-disciplinary project. I have a full time job, my down time on a daily basis is very limited, so I kind of have to pick and choose between them. Visual Novel is complicated in the sense that it require learning skills that are wholly unrelated to drawing pictures.

Already a thing.

A boy falls in love with a girl. He is mysteriously gifted with her phone number. He calls her and finds out that she likes him as well. But the next day, she doesn't remember the confession. The girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn’t exist in this universe at all. She is the girl’s alternate universe counterpart, who likes his own alternate self. Hijinks ensue as the two tell each other their darkest secrets to conquer the hearts of their other selves.

I already make $7,500 a month programming FPGAs for digital signal processing for medical imaging technology.

I'm too busy to chase my real dreams of becoming an author/artist. It's a strange feel. My tablet and novels are just collecting dust.

You don't chase dreams, you threat them like a task that needs to be done and then you just do it.

I hate oversaturated markets.

What is one punch man

I tried doing that for a while, but the progress was so painfully slow I started to lose resolve. It doesn't help that since I got salaried I they started working me to death with up to 80 hour work weeks. Think I could just hire some NEET for $500 a month to illustrate my writing?

If you don't have the time, but the money, you may use the money. For some people it's the other way around.

I cannae write to am good.
I cannae draw not good aeither.
Whut am me do?

your fuked

if you were a nip you could write light novels.

That's barely minimum wage. Not to mention the effort that goes into learning how to actually do it.

And if you were a neet with all required skills with all living expenses paid for you by your parents and your only other option is being a wagecuck, then what?

Chances are if you had the drive to actually create something you wouldn't be a NEET in the first place.

>depending of the quality
Of course doing a good manga is harder than doing a shitty VN but the level of quality we are discussing here is extremely low therefore doing a shitty VN is several degrees harder than doing a shitty comic.

What about meme stories? Are they valid?

I was thinking about 19 pages a week tho.

If do you think the guy who makes OPM (one) doesn't know how to draw, you are in a big mistake.

Once I reach 500 followers in tumblr or pixiv I will start a comic, because there's no point in opening a patreon if no one gives a fuck.

Whats the point of having both

Writing and drawing like the japanese if you are not japanese means you have to do extra work as you would have to study the aesthetics and structure of manga in order to figure out the logic behind it and then internalise it through practice.

What's your tumblr

Considering that my countryman made No game no Life

I should try my hand on it

Because I am a lazy fuck

>$121 a month
I guess they aren't in it for the money.

>They only make 6-10 pages every month and each page should take around 1 hour to make judging from how it looks.

>t. guy who can't draw

Very few people are speed demons, even middle tier art will take a few hours

Takes me about 45 to make one character look good

OP is a dummy

They're French, 56€ ain't gonna pay much.

DashAheadArt

I'm still far from 500... But I draw traps and yuri

Well they certainly just spend that time drawing considering they basically ripped Jin's "A friendly orc" in terms of the premises writing.

Nonsense. Art-wise VNs are a lot cheaper than manga. Problem with VNs is that you need a lot more (and better) writing. With manga you can do "show, don't tell" but not so much with VNs where you need to have hundreds of pages of text. Also music, sounds and VAs sometimes. Programming for a VN is pretty minor job so I won't count that in the equation.

Basically, if you're a shit writer you can cover it better in manga, but if you're a shit artist it's easier to go for VNs. (And the opposite is also true, if you're a good writer go for VNs, and a talented artist go for manga.)

>I can't make a manga because I'm not Japanese
Just write a webnovel and get lucky enough that some westaboo will translate into Japanese, then get luckier and have it turned into a LN. From that point on you have a decent chance at getting a manga and maybe even an anime.
That's what I'm doing.

no drawing skills

Why would you ever think I can't draw?
