I like it

Generally accepted as Nihei's strongest work. The man's art career is some sort of warped variant of Dorian Gray. His art gets worse and worse, as he gets more and more famous.

Best Nihei stuff, second only to Abara.

Too bad Nihei waster his potential after that.

It's a monumental achievement of sci-fi genre.

Amazing art and a very good at setting the mood.
Worldbuilding is also top notch.

Always bothered me that they pronounce it ブラム Instead of ブレム

>HQ scans never

I really enjoy the art

It has the gun of my dreams and I am a sucker for mega structures.

>he doesn't know

>HQ scans never

9/10 it's okay. He also introduced me to Beksinski which is pretty cool.

I really, really like it because of the art style, the vague story line at the beginning, and the GRAVITATION BEAM EMMITER!

pretentious shit

+Totally original world
+Complete story
+Consistent atmosphere
+Delicious art
+Science Fiction

>mfw the netflix movie is going to bastardize this amazing series

Cibo is best girl.

>Killy sees an exit 3000km away
> reaches it in the next page
Always made me wonder what the timespan is whenever be moves from level to level.

They exist but it's 1gb per volume

Essentially years and years at a time, more than likely eons.

I'm pretty sure I read that killy was over 3000 years old, apparently the authors words, but considering his background and long regeneration time I don't doubt it.

He's superhuman so definetely a lot less than it would take a human to cover that by foot.

the 3DCG Blame is going to hurt the fan base so bad, they reject its existence

Nihei should let this Studio make an adaption of Abara, not Polygon
youtube.com/watch?v=-c-VSzJqE6Q

Is there any manga similiar in scope to blam! ?

Ai City

>full CGI Anime
just fucking stop

When?
youtube.com/watch?v=cO0JsSYTFzQ

But there are only two. There are going to be 4 more I guess and it's also going to take time to rip them. Another year at least.

>implying Gantz:O is bad

Reminder that Nihei is doing this for the money and nothing else
"Blame! is an upcoming movie adaptation by Polygon Pictures, based on the sci-fi manga by Tsutomu Nihei. Nihei will write a new plot and design the characters for the movie, which is expected to premiere in 2017."

God, that looks like garbage.

Rip never.

>2017年2月22日
6 more day

Then subs never.

>A masterpiece of the 90s Japanese cyberpunk is moeshit now

What do you feel anons?

Wasn't there a scangroup doing them?

...

You don't really need subs for this kind of movie. Big boobs and ugly monsters don't need any translation.

>Nihei should let this Studio make an adaption of Abara, not Polygon
I don't think it's so much a matter of "what Nihei lets them adapt" so much as "what will make money when adapted". I agree entirely that Abara is the best Nihei work to adapt as a movie, but it's simply nowhere near Blame's level of popularity in Japan, or elsewhere, for that matter.
I'd personally most want to see a Biomega TV anime, provided they have the $$$ to properly convey the hype levels, with an Abara movie being second to that.
I do actually like what Polygon do, for the most part, despite seeing some notable issues with the full CGI, so I'm not too concerned with the idea of it getting an adaptation like Gantz:O, I'm just happy as long what we get is good.

>the 3DCG Blame is going to hurt the fan base so bad
Most popular adaptations hurt the fanbase, because they bring in a horde of anime-only retards, but I feel this will have an even bigger negative impact than most. However, I do actually think this movie will be good:
To me, Blame is distinctly one of those manga that only works as a manga - the way it uses panelling and composition to convey scale and the passing of time is something that can't translate to anime at all. However, this movie isn't a direct adaptation - it's going to have an entirely new script written by Sidonia-era Nihei. I'm not expecting an atmospheric work with a fleshed-out, complex setting, I'm expecting action scenes, cute girls and fun. And that's fine. I don't want them to try to make something that doesn't work as anime into an anime (the old ONAs made attempted this, and the result was nothing special), I'm happy with stupid fun. Of course, it won't be as good as the manga, but I enjoyed Sidonia, and I expect to enjoy this in the same way.
However, the fanbase will probably take a hit because of it, because it will bring in more of the kind of people who just like that stuff, rather than those who like the significantly different manga.

>Blame is distinctly one of those manga that only works as a manga
Gonna throw this out there:

>Blame! novel
Dumb shit right here.

Something like the opening to Return of the Native only with more metal and less heath?

" A Saturday afternoon in November was approaching the time of twilight, and the vast tract of unenclosed wild known as Egdon Heath embrowned itself moment by moment. Overhead the hollow stretch of whitish cloud shutting out the sky was as a tent which had the whole heath for its floor.

The heaven being spread with this pallid screen and the earth with the darkest vegetation, their meeting-line at the horizon was clearly marked. In such contrast the heath wore the appearance of an instalment of night which had taken up its place before its astronomical hour was come: darkness had to a great extent arrived hereon, while day stood distinct in the sky. Looking upwards, a furze-cutter would have been inclined to continue work; looking down, he would have decided to finish his faggot and go home. The distant rims of the world and of the firmament seemed to be a division in time no less than a division in matter. The face of the heath by its mere complexion added half an hour to evening; it could in like manner retard the dawn, sadden noon, anticipate the frowning of storms scarcely generated, and intensify the opacity of a moonless midnight to a cause of shaking and dread. "

>Caring about the fanbase at all
"anime-only faggots" will at least mean more interest for Nihei works and maybe the pseudo-elitism that surrounds it on Sup Forums will calm down a bit.

I feel like burning down Netflix headquarters

That kind of thing is perhaps the kind of writing style that would make it work, but I still feel like ultimately any novel adaptation would have to stray so far from the essence of what makes it "Blame", that it hardly even resembles "Blame" any more.

>>Caring about the fanbase at all
I care because the better the fanbase, the better the threads.
>"anime-only faggots" will at least mean more interest for Nihei works and maybe the pseudo-elitism that surrounds it on Sup Forums will calm down a bit.
Elitism can be annoying, but it's filters out a good amount of the shit we'd get otherwise. I'd just rather we don't get a bunch of shitposters like Sidonia got, but other than that I'm glad Nihei's works are gathering more interest.

Elitism isn't bad, that's why I wrote pseudo-elitism. The "mature anime for mature people like myself" or "everything was better 20 years ago" kind.

Oh, my mistake. Yeah, that kind of pseudo-elitism is pure cancer, and as bad as, if not worse than the kind of shitposting the Sidonia anime brought in.

I'm looking for net terminal genes.

Give it a chance, user. The preview we got in the Sidonia adaptation looked pretty neat, and Polygon did a great job with Sidonia as far as I'm concerned. Portraying massive scenery dynamically is one of the areas where CG really shines.

I like Blame! a lot. Worse case scenario I waste a couple hours of my time, parse through a few more shitposts each day, and get some more fan art.

moe is not about big eyes and cute appearance

but you maybe right that they try to pandering Otaku for $$

...

>one of the areas where CG really shines.
and they fuck up the giant Robot

i think that Nihei put the Custom Tsugumori in the manga so they can replaced the High-Cost Unit's Prototype with it in the anime

>Portraying massive scenery dynamically is one of the areas where CG really shines.

CG is the worst thing possible for a mostly visual told story like Blame.

>just fucking stop
this meme is lame. Cgi anime can work. Polygon keeps getting more and more skilled with each anime they produce, just look at Sidonia and Ajin.

The original character designs were cool but the faces and anatomy were really amateurish, a lot of Nihei drawings were also almost scribbles and hence really hard to translate to animation as is. I'm not really a fan of these new designs but I don't have anything against it either.

Sidonia S2 is worse than Sidonia

and they don't even tried to animate Ajin
they use motion capture, you can tell by those webm of Hatman's hall way shoot out and the girl Ajin girl waking up

people keep spamming those and claimed them to be super action pack and well animated

I meant the raw architecture porn Blame! has so much of could be super sexy with CG animation. A huge, detailed, artificial scene like pic related could be shown in so many different ways that would be prohibitively time consuming to draw by hand.

>entirely new script
I have not heard of this

New characters, new story, Killy is a human for some fucking reason. I hope Nihei falls down some stairs

This is not okay

>New characters, new story, Killy is a human for some fucking reason. I hope Nihei falls down some stairs
how do you know all this? got a link?

mfw dreamed about an animated adaption for more than 15 years, it's going to be shit.

If they're going to do an anime adaptation they might as well make something new with a new script. If you like the manga and can't stand any kind of modifications you might as well just reread the manga and ignore the anime completely.

shit.
I'm pretty sceptical of the weird animation that is gonna come out already.

>Netflix movie
They just give the bucks, it's a Polygon Pictures movie. And Nihei seems to be quite involved in it.
I doubt they're going to "bastardize" anything. At worst the plot will be simplified and the focus will be more on the action scenes than it already was. Anyway Sup Forums will hate it because it's 3D.

It is pretty good. I guess.

Can't be worse than the prior attmepts.

>a handrail is present
Utterly inaccurate, 0/10 cosplay

Shouldn't you be more bothered by the fact that he romanized it to "Blame" instead of "Blam"?

...

There is worse, like Chrno Crusade.

Any more like this?

So I've never watched or read any of nihei's works, they've been on my to watch list for a while, but I've never got around to it.

I've got a 1 and a half hourish flight, however I will be with family, should I watch anything?

I'm interested in gantz:o from the boobies.

I couldnt reccomend blame enough to anyone, really blew me away reading it, especially if you can find some good music to accompany it and just journey into the bleak world

Meant for you

myanimelist.net/news/47073486
And regarding Killy being a human he says he is in the trailer

Nihei literally already did a moe "slice of life" parody of the blame universe. It was in good humour and it was hilarious. Trying to recapture the potato heads from the first few chapters into 3D is just delusional nostalgia wanking.

I swear there is a smear campaign between studios to constantly post about the negatives and how much new seasons will fail. Next you'll be posting out of context frames like an obnoxious tool.

>Not buying the physical copies.

>253.89 years

>reading Nihei works for the shitty plot
>not for the background brutalist architecture
Fuck off plebs, I bet you hate Sidonia no Kishi too

I love Sidonia no Kishi but I prefer Blame, mainly because it resonated with me in a special way.
I also think Nihei has gotten significantly better at drawing since Blame but many can't appreciate it because it's not black and pencil strokes everywhere.

It's not that it isn't black. It's a fucking total lack of black.

And I don't see how that makes it bad.

Because there's no contrast.

>they forgot an entire vowel
