We overlook producers a lot when it comes to anime. It's time we give praise to Toho-sama
Can you give them that much credit though? There are always like 5+ producers for any show.
Logan Collins
MJP is the only good show.
Isaac Walker
So does any other animation production. But when Toho's involved, they can turn any shit studio to real men.
Pic related produced by them from studio Pierrot.
Adam Wood
Distributor/publishers like Toho are normally the ones with the financial muscle and initiative to start a project. Rarely do anime studios have the resources to get a new project going, they rely on producers approaching them with work.
Josiah Carter
Can't tell if it's 2D or 3D, maybe both. But either way you're wrong, shit they're involved in doesn't always look good, from that list, Tokkyo Magnitude, Sakamichi no Apollon and Engaged to the Unidentified were very mediocre visually and animation wise, and half the episodes of Little Witch Academia look average at best.
Jonathan Powell
This. Pic related is the only good thing to come from them.
Gavin Edwards
Well, they raped grimgar with music but was still pretty good. Too bad its not a 24 episode series.
Logan Ortiz
Actually they're also saving the Pokemon anime itself. Every single Pokemon movie included. I Choose You! will be the latest.
Leo Green
you forgot the kizumonogatari movies
Carson Cook
How do they have so much money?
Wyatt Russell
they've been operating for, well, a long time
David Baker
...
Evan Campbell
...
Parker Turner
...
Michael Wilson
Toho has been around since the 30's
Jacob Green
It's all that Kimi no Na Wa money.
Nathan Garcia
Damn, even before the world war?
Aaron Bell
Wouldn't their revenue be public data?
Jace Howard
Sure. You just gotta go to their shareholder meetings if you care about revenues.
Adam Wilson
It is, just google Toho Co Ltd financial reports.
Aiden Young
Can't wait for the Ponyo sequel.
Jordan Mitchell
Kimi no Na wa any good?
Anthony Williams
So theyre like the jews in anime?
Jack Jackson
Yeah, it's good kino.
Nathaniel Perez
I WANT MY HQ RIP
FUCK
Cooper Reed
Alright cool. I'll wait for the BD.
Connor Mitchell
>#1 in the Japanese box office for 14 weeks, 13 weekends >Earns 20 billion yen and counting to surpass Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Japan >Reached 10 billion yen 9 days faster than Frozen >Wins LA Film Critics Award >Has become the no. 1 highest-grossing Japanese movie in China >Has become the no. 1 movie in Thailand >The film immediately topped Korea's box office opening on 555 screens all around the country which is a new record for the Japanese film. >Also dominated China breaking the all-time records for the most advance tickets sold and the fastest film to reach 100 million yuan ($ 14 million or 1.7 billion yen), with the first 100 yuan earned in just the film's opening day. >The film also dominated the charts of Hong Kong and Taiwan becoming the number 2 and top highest grossing Japanese film on the respective countries >Inexplicably jumps 41% in the Japanese box office and climbs from 7th place to 3rd place in one week >Still in the top 10 in the Japanese box office towards the beginning of 2017 >Now grossed US$331 million. >Surpasses the box office gross of Spirited Away (US$289.1 million), making it the highest grossing anime film of all time. >Is approved by Shinzo Abe and used by Cool Japan to spur tourism in Japan.
So this is Toho magic. Not bad.
Jose Martinez
I love TOHO now
Jace Martinez
You forgot the wtf.
Lincoln Clark
when will they make a touhou anime?
Aiden Gray
It's only fate.
Josiah Perez
Never ever. You can't control merchandising on Touhou.
Dylan Smith
Is that even still popular now?
Jaxson Scott
Toho's next big hit.
Jason Lewis
Is it time for Shaft to make it big?
Jayden Turner
The top of half of that is kind of scary if you've ever even been near an actual pool. Those little drains are where water spiders and centipedes and stuff always seem to lurk. I don't know how many times I've set at the edge of a pool near one of those and had something scurry out and onto my bare legs.
Henry Powell
not everyone lives in Australia
Dylan Perry
Arent they the Godzilla people as well?
Jace Roberts
Well you see they recently had a very successful movie called Shin Godzilla. Maybe you've heard of it?
Sebastian Richardson
If you said the Evangelion sequel i might've recognized it.
