Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

As much as i agree with Miyazaki. It wouldn't have matter if Anime didn't exist. Instead of us being here on Sup Forums we all would of migrated to Sup Forums or Sup Forums

Most otaku only enjoy anime.
Perhaps you'd have a point if they were successful and well adjusted people who enjoyed anime from time to time.

I'm happy that he's gonna die soon

Delusional bitter old man stuck in the wrong era.

go away clive

I'd agree if you weren't a tripfag

>not watching anime on a Japanese-influenced otaku imageboard

Childhood is wanting to grow up.Adulthood is realising you were a fool.

I'll take it.

People know that quote isn't real, right? When it's repeated so often as a joke that people might start to think it's legitimate.

You guys do know "Miyazaki" isn't a real person right? He's the Alex Jones of the Anime industry. He is a character created by the greatest minds in the Anime community in order to detract from their critics who believe that Anime is losing its humanity. By constructing Miyazaki as a paranoid old man they detract any credibility from these concerns viewers might have. Let me ask you this, have you ever seen Miyazaki in the flesh? Didn't think so.

Which stage are you on of accepting anime was a mistake?

>Denying anime was a mistake, and further isolating yourself to prove him wrong.
>Anger that you cannot find any anime to definitively prove it isn't a mistake.
>Bargaining with anime you think could break the long standing trend of anime being trash.
>Depression stemming from the realization he was right all along and you wasted years of your life looking for something that has never existed.
>Acceptance that Miyazaki is right.

>No fun allowed

Miyazaki should just make his chinese cartoons and shut up

Sup Forums in a nutshell on a daily basis

>literally just finished jacking off and tabbed back
you got me user

This. I couldn't care less what an old overrated has-been says about my chinese cartoons

>b-but muh ART!

Nope

All your chinese and nipponese cartoons are made in corea anyway. All of them.

Except the ones made by indonesians and malaysians and vietnamese. They're made in Indonesia and Malaysia and Vietnam.

When did Sup Forums, no, the entirety of Sup Forums infested by people who hate the hobbies represented by every board?

>Sup Forums is one person

Childhood is knowing miyazaki is right and feeling obliged to tell everybody you can about it.
Adulthood is recognising he's a jaded has-been whose opinions shouldn't matter to anybody but those obsessed with his works, and the terminally ill-equipped.

>Why do angry people spend time on the internet instead of socialising?

Is a more accurate and rhetorical question.

Childhood is watching Miyazaki and Disney and other cartoons.
Adulthood is becoming obsessed about what Miyazaki says or didn't say on Sup Forums.
Eternal youth is not giving much of a shit.

Childhood is liking Miyazaki films

Adulthood is fapping to Miyazaki film doujins

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

I choose to shit post not because it is the right thing to do, but because I can.

>Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves.
The problem is that using "childish" as a derogatory is something that's deeply rooted within almost any culture. It's ad hominem in its purest form. How often do you see adults treat children or younger adults as inferior and dismiss their views simply based on alleged inexperience even if they're right? You can easily attack someone's position by saying it's childish or naive without giving any explicit details or legitimate arguments. It's really hard to get rid of that because of how easy and powerful it is.

Roughly 75% of all the entertainment industry is trash.

Anime is not different, the shitty part simply caters to otaku instead of retarded normalfags.

Also, that quote is fake, and if you agree with that meme why should you even be here in the first place?

Even Satan had enough of this.

Miyazaki thinks anime was a mistake because now it's only trash for otaku who don't want to face real people. The fun thing is he didn't understand that the real trash are indeed the people, if it weren't for shit people otaku would be open to the world.

I've never even seen a Miyazaki movie in 11 years of actively watching anime so I honestly don't care.

that's a pretty wide range of things to talk about

digits confirm

>Roughly 75%
I thought the law said 99%

The best part is that you think you're being deep.

You all know that was a mistranslation, right?

Try Googling that post.

Even if it's a mistake, anime will find a way

>Implying "It's time." is used on anything else than homoshit general

A follower of Bishop Berkeley and David Hume, indeed

The best part is that you think your post has any value.

Actually the best part is that you can't recognize it.

The best part is that he's quoting c.s. lewis.

The best part is that you're gonna deny being a newfag.

What he actually critisizes is the fact that anime seems to be made only by otakus
People who have limited social skills, socially handicaped morons who then go on to create stories for the same people they have difficulties interacting with.

These stories lack something human, the characters are cliché rehashes of other popular anime. Unlike other works of art anime is not being inspired by real life anymore, it is being inspired by other anime

inb4 morons citing slice of life animes
inb4 but muh shonen fantasy can't be inspired by real life

trips of insanity

>being this new

childhood is a shit meme
adulthood is a shit meme too

essentially, Miyazaki is bitter because he can't relate with wanting to escape from reality and preferring fictional idealizations of people over people themselves.

Miyazaki is a normie jealous of otaku.

This

>I actually agree with lelouch
Who would've thought such a day would come

I wouldn't quite call it fictional idealization
more like moronic predictable uninteresting avatars

ok satan we get it.. but I am still gonna make these threads

>moronic predictable uninteresting avatars
That's your opinion, the industry exists outside of Miyazaki circle because there's enough people to that like it Miyazaki hating or not, the simple truth is that he was left behind and he is very salty because of it.

>predictable
>uninteresting
Not predicting that someone fucked you over behind your back is really interesting. I love that about real people

Blog topic buzz words, buzz words insert level of maturity of everyone who doesn't agree with me as child/infant. More buzz words, medical reasons why I'm right buzz words, buzz words. When I was a child things were xyz, Now buzz words, Talk about how mature you are and that anyone who talks about how mature they are are really childish.

Are there still retards who think this image is real?

Adulthood is being able to disagree with his personal opinions while still enjoying his works.

animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2017-02-16/at-x-president-ai-may-replace-humans-in-anime-production/.112255

this at-x president is insulting life itself.
2 nukes weren't enough.

We will finally get rid of all those worthless Asian and Japanese animators, just as the entire world always wanted.

>autistic screeching
How mature of you

>Autistic screeching instead of walking away

yeah let's disregard the opinion of one of the most respected and veteran anime directors and everyone who agrees with him who are also respected like Anno, Oshii, etc. because someone on the internet said they disagree.

From what I've seen, what Miyazaki hates the most is the unrealistic portrayal of characters in Anime. Even in the rare cases where the characters aren't cliches or archetypes they still aren't grounded or believable, or have a dichotomy of simple emotions with no complexity. Remember that Anime originally was based on a desire to create cartoons like Disney but with far more emphasis on characters that are more human-like as opposed to Disney's characters which were anything but.

>Miyazaki shitpost
Why these threads aren't deleted on sight? It's basically the same shitposting over and over again for years now

Must be killing them to see Disney raking in all that Dosh in Japan.

Satan knows.

>X fags on suicide watch

>Post Hamburgers

>This is your X tonight

Why are there people here who think this is authored by user

>From what I've seen, what Miyazaki hates the most is the unrealistic portrayal of characters in Anime
Then why he draw white people?

Who WOULD understand that?

Learning to overcome the hardships in life is an important part of maturity.

Escapism is for the spineless.

>the simple truth is that he was left behind and he is very salty because of it.
Except he was making popular films until he retired.
He's dissapointed in how escapism obsessed otaku have infested industry.

So go play your kiddie 3ds nintendo shit while screaming wahoo and wearing a fedora and trench coat, C S Lewis

>neural nets spitting out derivative clones of old anime
He's not wrong.

Escapism is a pathetic excuse for entertainment, especially when various other mediums don't need it to validate themselves.

>No bully thread
>Bully thread

kek

The reality of Sup Forums is to realize it's literally a mirror copy of Sup Forums but just with more anime and moefags.

>actively avoiding classic anime films
You're very cool.

>Being this new

But anime is the best medium right now, the rest is trash, live action could just stop existing and nothing would be lost. I feel that as a non american i am not biased about shitty things like film and can recognize the only thing that can match a good anime is a good non genre fiction book.

>But anime is the best medium right now

What's the best then?

There's more great tv than there is great anime.
>as a non american i am not biased about shitty things like film
You realize film is popular outside of America right?
>live action could just stop existing and nothing would be lost
Miyazaki is right you people can't stand to look at real people.

None of his movies are any good besides the animation though.

Books, manga, and comics are better.

>Adulthood is knowing that author's opinionated bitter remarks couldn't ruin his works

Sorry but the amount of shitty films far surpasses bad anime, there's some years there is not even one good movie, and the best anime >>> best films, the potential is a lot higher for animation.

How the fuck is that fedora? Is any post that encourages people not to be a fucking idiot fedora now?
