Why is nobody getting isekai'd to sci-fi worlds? Why aren't fantasy characters getting isekai'd to the modern world?

Why is nobody getting isekai'd to sci-fi worlds? Why aren't fantasy characters getting isekai'd to the modern world?

Factually wrong.

No market?

The latter happened in Maou-sama

But it exists

There's also that series about the elf that comes to Japan from fantasyland and gets fat from eating french fries.

>Why is nobody getting isekai'd to sci-fi worlds?

The devil is a part timer did it. It was fun. Re:creators is doing fantasy and other characters coming into the "real" world next season.

If you want to see third world barbarians infest a modern world setting just go to Europe.

Not anime.

I'd watch a Futurama anime though.

Japs are simply incapable to come up with sci-fi setting.

>Not anime.

Try again bucko

because medieval setting with magic makes more sense.

in modern world and science you cant achieve shit on your own

in medieval world with magic a character can become demigod and one man army. its simpler and allows complete focus on the mc.

Sci-Fi with pseudo magic (mutant powers or whatever) works pretty well actually for that purpose.

Buddy Complex

Because the Jetsons lied to us.

There are no flying cars, robot maids, and moving sidewalks that move you to anywhere you want on the ground without having to take a single step.

Also, real life jobs don't simply involve pushing a button.

Explain GitS

I feel like I read something where an entire high school reincarnated as old castle soldiers or something. Kinda close

Mostly sci-fi is mecha or VR.

only existing LN, anime I know is GATE

>Why is nobody getting isekai'd to sci-fi worlds? Why aren't fantasy characters getting isekai'd to the modern world?

Not many people want to self insert as the filthy savage to be educated by the elites.

It has been done, but it's not as popular compared to other. They go where the money is.

(you)

it is the land of technology
isekai is the final stage in escapism
I think it is pretty clear why

The Jetsons didn't lie, the PTB failed, focusing on gimme dats and leaving the droves of students who graduated with physics degrees in the 70's out in the cold. Large established empires consolidate their power rather than find new frontiers.

Underrated post.

Does GXP count? Tenchi Universe? Tenchi's half brother? I feel like the sci-fi isekai was more prevalent in the 90s.

Sci-fi is just fantasy with worse aesthetics.

Muv-Luv

Modern setting is boring because you can't just go out and fight monsters and if you try anything funny with thugs, police will arrest your ass. Wars are rare and being a mercenary is considered a crime. Fights are quick and deadly, equipment is expensive.
Futuristic setting is modern, but 10x worse, a total dystopia unless we get cheap spaceships and new Wild West.

Fantasy? All these monsters you can slay without bit of guilt, all these wars to join, swordfights, actually being able to fuck off away from Big Brother's eye ect.

Because is someone wants to do a sci-fi setting they just set it in the future. The only reason isekai happens in fantasy worlds is people are really fucking tired of the "magic exists irl, it's just been a secret society thing this whole time".

>Not being isekai'd into sci-fi world during a galatic war or joining police force.
>If not that, just a SoL of living among aliens and traveling to different planets

>join the galactic war
>become one of milions of soldiers in meatgrinder

The smaller scale of medieval-ish setting is more appealing.

>traveling to different planets
You mean as tourist for Slice-of-Life thing.
Because exploration most probably would be overtaken by goverments as spaceships would cost fuckloads moni.

Why is nobody getting isekai'd to heaven or hell?

Because endgame destinations are christian constructs. Asian culture believes in the cycle of death and life.

>Why is nobody getting isekai'd to sci-fi worlds?

Also, why is fantasy always the the topic of isekai when mecha is obviously better?

You can write about anything user, not only about your own culture.

You know that trope where the MC's body dies when their mind transfers over to the new world or the fantasy character either dies or ends up in stasis or some other such convenience? That's probably why we never get to see the opposite.

because they're not real

That's like Americans writing how great China and India is.
Very unlikely to happen.
People enjoy pandering to themselves the most.

>"magic exists irl, it's just been a secret society thing this whole time".

I never support garbage like this and I will never will.

Let's have this talk again when "I can't believe I went to hell and now I have a harem of demon lords?" gets serialized.

>Why aren't fantasy characters getting isekai'd to the modern world?
Fushigi Yuugi

it seems that's not gonna be the main plot anymore, now it feels more like they come from some undeveloped country where they have to hunt for their food to japan or something

Blame! is a good example, though it is more scenery porn than anything.

Keep in mind that she's competing with the guy behind the desk from Drifters, too.

Came here to post this.

>That's like Americans writing how great China and India is.

The Great Wall
Transformers

at this point they make better sci-fi than the west

I want a mage from a fantasy world getting Isekai into a sci-fi world and just fucking shit up with his magic.
