>3D shit

Welp, the models looked like a cheap platistic-ky action figure and having a robotic movement.Doesnt look as good as bubuki buranki from the pv.

Badass scarf and that coat tail looking something.

More like footballguy.

I imagine they'll look better in two months, but if not...then it's simply not as much of a priority for the studio as Bubuki Buranki (and that still bombed even with all the effort they put into it).

I am getting some serious Bodacious Space Pirates vibes.

The robots do look cool, especially IDO here Don't quite like the design of the mysterious girl, but I guess she'll be relevant to the plot?

Yeah, I'm probably going to watch it anyway. Hopefully it doesnt induce any motion sickness.

So, mecha+shirobako?

The fuck you talking about? It's a fucking typical mecha show. It's your typical "Fanservice first, mecha second" shitshow we get at least one of every year. It's this Years Infinite Regalia.

It's gonna be forgettable garbage. Xebec already perfected the "Giant Robots as a Business" show years ago. Maybe I'll just go rewatch Dai-Guard

So you mean nobody can ever make a show where Giant Robots are used in a business? Dai-Guard is old as fuck now, man.

And honestly, fanservice first? That's reaching at the moment. Doesn't look like there's a TON of girls

By the way, I love Votoms. But not everything has to be like it, for god's sake.

IDO is list as 1st in cast.
Yeah all these "robots" are human-like.

Bodacious Space Pirates prove that having cute girls in space does not mean there will be heaps of fanservice.

Given that the robots are sentient, or at least they seem to be, I look forward to what they do with them.

No. This issue is that the shit's already made an all girl cast which means it wants the fanservice/yuribait audience.

None of you fucks even remember Last Exile Season 2 do you? I learned my lesson back then. The moment the 90% of the human cast in any show is one gender, it's fucking pandering shit.

Bodacious Space Pirates also wasn't good.

>Bodacious Space Pirates also wasn't good.

0/10

I bet you hated Idolmaster Xenoglossia too, you Philistine.

It's not a harem, so that's already a good thing.

Fucking adorable.

We live in a time when openly gay shows are making tons of money, user, so there's no need to be so stiff. History is being made and living you behind.

*leaving

It might also be a new Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko

>tfw I thought it was bubblegum crisis
Just kill me now.

Is this going to be what I expected Classroom Crisis to be like?
Not to say I disliked CC, far from that.

This is a weird first impression, but I do trust Goro Taniguchi to deliver.

Just compare the logos on the poster and in the OP.
They're obviously toying around with our expectations.

Well, I'm expecting PV2 to not resemble this in absolutely any way, shape or form, just as PV1 had absolutely fuck-all to do with enka.
Looking forward to this. Surprise me, Goro.

Yeah, I see what they're up to.

Here is story summary.

From /m/.

The ‘MIND TRANCE’ SF produced by Goro Taniguchi, Yosuke Kuroda and Sanzigen is opening here for the world!

“I-Machines” are a catch-all term for large robots to perform work in harsh environments. Academy student Maya Mikuri runs into an accident while handling some I-Machine work—only to be rescued, still in I-Machine form, by a ship from Escavate, an Orichalt excavation firm and de-facto band of pirates. There, she finds herself forced to work as part of their crew...
ID-0 is a robotic-action show like nothing before, set in the far reaches of deep space. It’s the latest team-up between Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion director Goro Taniguchi and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 writer Yosuke Kuroda.
Character concepts are provided by Last Exile’s Range Murata, while Gundam 00’s Kanetake Ebikawa is handling mechanical designs. The producer is Sanzigen, known for their heavily-praised work in cel-like 3DCG. Together, they’re ready to offer a full-3DCG experience, featuring charming characters, amazing I-Machines, and a deep-space spectacle like none seen before.
And as she works with the crew—each with their own idiosyncrasies—Maya will learn what being “human” really means.

Is it hope, or despair hiding in the lost memories?

Is this attempting to pull a Madoka on us?

Not as dark nor as secret of a turn, I would say, but I do think they'll go from fluffy to not so fluffy

A student at the Planet Federation academy.
By getting drawn into a certain incident, ended up getting involved with a lot of people from an excavation company.
Has a sharp mind, but is fainthearted and goes with the flow.

Has went on several crazy excavation jobs, but always fulfilled them no matter the situation.
CV: Kazuyuki Okitsu
A worker at the excavation company.
A jolly speed fanatic with a fondness for women. A bright-red mood maker of an I-machine.

While somewhat of a typical old man, assembled his bizzare workers in his pursuit of large sums of money through digging the Orihart mineral.

A worker at the excavation company.
In charge of information gathering and sales. Well-mannered yet pushy, she excels at negotiations.

>I am getting some serious Bodacious Space Pirates vibes.

Some Stellvia too, the hard sci-fi vibe.

Senpai the Silver Wing's biggest flaw was extremely inconsistent pacing.

My theory: most of the human characters are just there for an episode or two and then it'll all be about the I-machines dealing with their jobs and their lost memories.

>Range Murata

I thought the style of her top was familiar.

>Dai-Guard

my nigga

>Another 3d mech anime
I just hope to be as happily surprised as Active Raid.

WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT!!!!!!

A troll PV.

Other than Garei Zero and Madoka, what other shows have trolling PVs?

>fa loser

/fa/ BTFO

The only openly gay shows that make tons of money are those directed towards girls who like to see guys doing homo-erotic things with guys, though.

>Ozawa Airi
Oh no, Brain, what happened to you?

So, do the people upload their mind into giant mecha?
Cause that's kinda cool.

At least one of them does. I suppose the others did that in the past.

>the cast is girls so it's generic forgettable trash
Man, you are a bitter fuck.

These are sort of disappointing for Murata designs, though.

Masaya Matsukaze

Sayaka Ohara

Rikiya Koyama

Junko Minagawa

Hisako Kanemoto

Reina Ueda

>show is named ID-0
>cool looking kamen-rider-ish robot is named IDO
Must be the generic mook-bot.

スタジオオルフェ ‏@studio_orphee ·

Welp.

...

Should I be worried or excited by this?

MC gonna be a smug bastard?

I assume it means you'll feel like a smug bastard once you watch the show

Cannot unsee here.

I'm not well-versed in kamen rider tropes. I'm more a supersentai-casual.

Are the robots like Rick Ayer, Karla Milla-Foden, Grayman, Fa-Loser and Amanza Volchkova also specific kamen-rider archetypes like Ido?

Design wise, only Ido's pretty blatant with that red scarf. Rick has been pointed out to have a somewhat similar design to Kamen Rider Accel and even is a speed fanatic to boot. The rest, not so much although I personally think FA Loser is just someone who enlarged a Haro and put it on a skinny frame as a head.

Picked up.

Active raid 2: electric boogaloo

>mecha show
>all girl cast
Confirm flop

>thinking it's all girl cast
Are you stupid?

For perspective, the first teaser PV looked like this.

youtube.com/watch?v=PWo09LNWiHI

Pretty obviously a troll PV, the stars on the border are just so over the top. In any case the character models/animation look awful. I can get over it if the rest of the show is good. The character design isn't as bad as BBK, at least. I agree with the Stellvia mention earlier, that was my first impression.

At least recently, Gakkou Gurashi, though that was the whole premise of the show.

Haifuri, I guess.

>This is a weird first impression, but I do trust Goro Taniguchi to deliver.

Maybe this time he'll provide something with intrigue as well as fun

Active Raid was pure fun

>All those involved parties
Very interested. Will definitely watch it.
I miss Bubuki

Maybe it'll surprise us like Active Raid.

>moeshit song in the first 10 seconds

NOOOPE, this isnt mean for the /m/ fanbase

S3 when?

Is this yurishit?
The mechas look male so that's a plus, dropped like it's hot if it's yurishit or yuribait though.

look the trailer, Maya x Clair is already a thing

1st PV for comparison
youtube.com/watch?v=cKa8NKQGD4c

So, the producer is the World Cosplay Summit.
Is this anime's goal to promote cosplayers to come up with more extravagant mecha-related costumes?

Are they using stop-motion for the character animation CGI? It's not perfect, but it's less weird than most 3D.

They're removing frames to imitate 2D limited animation

If they're doing a full CGI-series where the CG doesn't have to match the 2D frames by virtue of there being no 2D animation to begin with, then that's just utterly stupid.

It makes the 3D look more like traditional animation.

Which is good, because low budget 3D character animation always looks awful.

About the point of the work, the producer said that this work is a world where the universe is bright and is a high risk high return world. I will bear in mind that it is a work that sticks pretty much as SF.

In fact, although some elements such as "Large doll robot for extreme environmental work" called "I machine" appears in the works, Mr. Okitsu sorry that "I can not talk about IDO" so. About the information seems to be handled quite strictly.

Although this work which is often things that can not be talked even at the present stage because there are a lot of secret elements, at the end Mr. Kitsu says "The story gets deeper as you watch it, the mystery calls a mystery," Mr. Tsuda says " Many things can not be said, but if you do not see it you will be in trouble! The robot is amazing, but Maya is fleshy, it is also recommended for those who like realistic figures! " .

news.walkerplus.com/article/101301/

I am almost willing to go out on a limb and bet the real love story will be between robots.

>distant future high technology space travel setting
>wearing glasses

if we are lucky

Very.

>mecha + sol + yuri
Who is the target audience for this?

Whoever will like it.

anyone else slightly confused why the PVs are so different

The first PV was almost a complete 180 from the second one with a weird pacific islander song and was kind of vague on everything

Troll PV, probably. What's there to gain from that, especially when that first teaser's already out there? Hell if I know.

You just gotta remember that all those people working on anime are otaku trying to pander towards their fellow otaku, and otaku sometimes just like to make things for fun. Like for example preview videos mocking cutesy idol-stuff for the heck of it.

On the other hand, had I not known about the first teaser ahead of time, this PV would have been a horrible turnoff.

The contradiction gains the series attention.
