Why didn't Aoba go to uni, Sup Forums? Is she too stupid? Too poor?

Why didn't Aoba go to uni, Sup Forums? Is she too stupid? Too poor?

She found her dream job straight after high school, there was no need

>2017
>still falling for the uni meme

>get to do what you want immediately vs spending money to meet drunks & stoners

Follow your dreams.

This
The trades are where it is at

Why isn't she working in the financial market? She would make a lot more money.

Most worthwhile companies want you to have a degree to advance over time. Will Aoba's company pay for her education later (or is uni free for japs? I don't know)? She's not going to move up quickly or even at all with just a HS diploma.

Too pure. Uni is where girls go to get corrupted.

Aoba is my girlfriend.

If more people went to trades school their job market would get more competitive and it would no longer be "where it is at". You should be somewhat thankful people are falling for the Uni meme.

She got a job. Clearly she does not need one.
Hell, I went to Uni, and I've met way more "pros" of my industry, before and after my studies, who didn't and started making tons of dosh at young age.

Job experience is way more important than any fancy piece of paper some school may have printed for you. I wish I'd gone freelancer 10 years ago.

is nene corrupted

>looks at the pantsu of video game characters on a regular basis
Yes.

education is a means to an end. if you can skip straight to the end result (employment in your desired field of work) then why waste 4-8 years of your life "studying" when the whole point of studying is just preparation to enter that field of work? also aoba's 4 years of work experience is more valuable than the 4 years of remdial classes she would have spent in art college. not to mention she was lucky enough to land a lead character designer role so early in her career

Sure, i can work in a hospital with just a HS degree, but I'll never work up to the point of becoming a surgeon. Without a degree I can't do a lot of things. Aoba might have found a great job now, but she won't ever be running the company she works out with just a HS diploma.

she knows (((college))) isnt for her

you can't corrupt retards

Let's be real, she got the job because the boss likes cute girls.

too talented

The real question is, who wouldn't hire a qt like her?

being a fucking surgeon and being a manager are two do completely fucking different things numbnuts. her boss also started straight from high school and now she's art director. as an artist / creator her goal would likely be to be director or director producer and at that position she could easily move laterally into a managerial role.

>Sure, i can work in a hospital with just a HS degree, but I'll never work up to the point of becoming a surgeon.
user, that's not how career advancement works. For one, not everyone can, should or wants to advance to the top. Secpndly, most industries need various professionals, and not all of these professions require an equal degree of education. You can't run a hospital with nothing but surgeons, for instance. You also want dedicated, experienced people in various roles, not just in management.

She's going to have Kou's job in the future. What else would she want?

And that is if she even wants to move to a managerial role. If she just wants to design characters and can make a living doing so, what would be her motivation for moving into management?

She works with art stuff, her portifolio speaks much more than an arts degree.

>only goal in life is to work a shitty hourly role with few benefits, long hours, and low pay forever

wow, you guys were right, Aoba definitely doesn't belong in uni with an attitude like that.

I'm sure when she wants to move out or when her parents die and she inherits all their bills (and the utility bills and rent on where she's living) she'll really be glad she stuck it out.

if aoba went to college there is a high chance she would have gotten impregnated by some art school jerkoff chad and she would have missed out on all of her dreams

>tfw would be turned down at the door for interview because man
I just want to work in an office with cute anime girls

She didn't know what she was getting into.

lead chara designer for big name projects make decent dosh. especially when you can branch out into multimedia works. also someone is projecting real hard. aoba is a hard worker and working at a decent company with decent pay & benefits. not at mcdonalds like you user.

I tried watching this show today but it was a bit too boring for me

Considering how hard Japs are forced to work just to live (low pay, 80+ hour work weeks, stupid high cost of living), I would imagine getting married and knocked up is the main goal of every Japanese woman. With just a husband and a baby, you get to stay home all day and fuck around, shop, eat ice cream and shit. Why the FUCK would Aoba not want to get knocked up by some Chad in uni studying something worthwhile? She gets to sleep in all day and play with the baby while Chad is at work from sunup to sundown. Then she just cooks a lazy dinner and he goes right to sleep while she stays up late texting cute guys on facebook.

you'll come around
they all do
whether they want to or not

it was my third time downloading and deleting the show so ill probably watch it someday when im in the mood for it

sounds miserable and cuckish

University is a meme unless you go for business related majors (the only worthwhile ones are finance, economics, accounting, actuarial science, econometrics, and still the primary value is networking), STEM (almost all except for civil engineering and more theoretical studies in physics/math), or pre-medicine/pre-law.

Almost any "creative" study is more valuable if you pursue it through experience in a related career or work independently to build up a portfolio and apply to a related firm.
Liberal arts nowadays is a circle jerk of postmodern garbage and nepotistic or bored professors who will ultimately help along a few favorites, or simply lecture on a rail for 4 years.

Aoba had the right idea, she's not trying to be a business analyst or systems engineer, she's making money, getting experience and building clout within an industry.
If additional education is needed, her company will likely subsidize it to fast track her into leadership.

>But u need college becuz ur dumb otherwise lol
Sasuga NEETs

well you convinced me

Nene lives beyond the concept of "purity" or "corruption." Nene is Nene: a higher form of existence.

>go to school
>get an entry level job

Is there a problem?

That getting even an entry level job is near-impossibly nowadays. Even a burger-flipping job.

>meanwhile in Nene's mind

Burger-flipping is a serious job, you need at least a Phd and fluency in 3 languages.

>Janitorial Position - 5 years of experience required
Everytime.

So if you were like Aoba and got an offer to work at a studio for what is likely decent pay with opportunities for overtime (do the nips pay overtime?), wouldn't you take it?

Considering how she works 12 hours a day, getting some more years of a more relaxed time at uni certainly seems worth it.

Just do it for free

I used to have a picture for a guy needing a mechanical engineer with about 20 years of experience and was only paying a little bit above minimum wage

>going to (((uni)))

Of course I would.

Aoba's job is basically freelancing except formally. Her job is something she can do for her whole life without going to uni even a single day and in the case she ever needs something uni-related I'm sure her job would pay for her studies.

Heck, the cherry on top is that Aoba is getting personal tutoring from the big boss and the one she wants to emulate, follow and she deeply admires. What more could she ask for? Aoba has it made.

I doubt nips pay overtime. It's already considered normal to work 10+ hours a day, and to work saturdays and some sundays, so when would overtime actually kick in? Once you break 80 hours in a week?

>Artist required!
>Payment: We believe that working for us alone is pay enough as it will give you tons of exposure!

>Twf mechanical engineer with fluency in 4 languages and 1,5 years of work experience in field
>Still been unable to get any job for almost half year now
Just what i'm supposed to do

>not making the young starving artist pay you for the "exposure"
It's like you don't even know how to exploit employees

She's an artist/designer if she's extermely good and have a nice portfolio *maybe* the compani would hire her and train if they see potential, she draws for a living, she's not working on the STEM field for that job a degree is not really needed.

Two levels over her it's pure management, financial control, MBA country, another different skillset.

Have you looked into manufacturing plants?
Might take a little bit of restudy but mechanical engineers can easily do the job of manufacturing engineers and vice versa

>Just what i'm supposed to do
Make connections and network.

It's amazing how so many people don't understand, or realize, how important this is.

Nepotism makes the world move around lads. Never forget.

Gotta work on your network, I ran up against this for a long time until I started going out and meeting people and building up some connections.
Call me a dick waver all you want, but I have a job locked in at $110,000 in Private Equity right out of college at a non-ivy, non top-50 school in the US.
It was because I made a lot of phone calls and prepped hard for interviews, and traveled even when I had class or other obligations to visit companies.
It's hard, but that's life

This guy knows

I've been touring plants, going to manufacturing conventions and getting cards, and keeping in contact with engineers through the scouts
am i being a good goy?

You're doing well, just gotta meet people who can make calls, go above industry people.
Ask your friends and family if they know of anyone in the field and try to get some contacts.
Saying, oh I'm x's cousin or y told me I should reach out to you, is a good way to start making the meaningful connections that'll land you a job

...

"Sleep tight Aoba"

This guy has the right idea.
Aoba's line of work isn't one that requires additional education - other than, perhaps, one or two short courses that can be learned while working.
Most of the experience she needs is better learned at work, rather than in some educational institution.

Furthermore, even the company is better off hiring high-school bachelors for Aoba's line of work, since they can pay them lower wages.

I assume she's following some internal education (she did have to do some chapters from some book in the early episodes) that will end in her getting a certificate that's equivalent to a university degree.

Given that she already has a foot in the door at a company, is getting job experience and will end up with equivalent papers to a university degree, this arrangement is in the long run preferable to going to university.

Nene's deal is the next best thing: going to university normally, but already having a foot in the door with a company (in the last episode Umiko gave Nene her contact info and said she could call her after finishing university).

This guy is right
I studied law in university, got two masters degrees and four years later the only jobs I can get are menial shit you don't even need a high school diplomay for.
I regret not going for an apprenticeship instead

>tfw no name prizefighter and I make more than anyone in this thread and will make all of your life's wages in 1 fight in the near future

>I regret not going for an apprenticeship instead
This.

College is a meme. Trades is where the good stuff is at now.

So what time does Aoba get to work? In episode 3 she wakes up at 8:51 am and is late, although she still has to commute and shit, so does she get there at 10 am? Or 9:30 or something?

In the same episode, Yagami is woken up at 9 am by her alarm and Aoba is already there. Yagami says she's suprised Aoba came early.

In an earlier episode, Aoba remarks that she doesn't get their much before lunch, and that Yun, Hajime, and her usually eat lunch around noon.

Also, Aoba has gone home as early as 9pm, and can stay as late as 11 pm or later. So what are her hours? Is it just all made up because the writers have never held a regular job and have no idea when normal workers work? Or is Aoba really spending 12+ hours a day at work? Is she hourly or just salaried (it would seem she is hourly considering that Yagami reminds them that they need their IDs to keep track of their time on breaks and lunches and whatever).

>I make more than anyone in this thread and will make all of your life's wages in 1 fight in the near future
Unless your sport is Keijo you don't belong here, you normie.

This is just my uneducated guess, but I presume they have regular office hours (9am-6pm) but also include "optional" overtime. Except in Japan optional = obligatory. Especially because, as becomes clear in the later episodes, the deadline is creeping nearer and the team is a little behind on schedule.

How is university more relaxed? If you aren't a waste of space you'll be doing about 12 hours of work every day anyway.

The suggestion is 3 hours of studying to every 1 hour in the classroom.
This does not include assignments.

On my 'most free' day, Friday, I'll have about 8 hours of work to do plus assignments. On Thursdays, where I'm in class for about 5 hours, I'll have 15 hours of studying to do plus assignments (of course, this is almost humanly impossible so it is reserved for the weekend.)
>education is a means to an end
If you're a worthless STEMsperg, sure.

High school*

She's an artist right?

All that matters is her portfolio then.

Do you not know what liberal arts are? It's a type of university where specialization is not permitted.

>most any "creative" study is more valuable if you pursue it through experience in a related career or work independently to build up a portfolio and apply to a related firm.
Not at all, I've been working in modern theology for years now and my best ideas have only come recently, because now I am studying formally.

Back to ribbit.
dude university is just for werk lmao

How do you even get work in a specialised field like modern thelogy without even having a degree?

Let's not forget that for Eagle Jump, Aoba is the ideal applicant. Just think about it:
>She's young, which makes her mallable
>Due to her age they can get away with paying her less and management can 'abuse' her by giving her excessive workload/overtime, and she'll accept it because she doesn't know any better. It's her first job after all.
>She's talented, she most likely has an impressive portfolio of fanart
>She's a diehard Fairies Story fan
>She probably got good grades in high school, showing that she's a quick learner and worth investing in

Compare that to the average university student
>Already a bit older, will be more expensive
>Might not have such a broad portofolio as Aoba, who has spent the past few years living up to her application at Eagle Jump
>May have zero interest in Faries Story as a franchise
>Her motivation is probably "I want a job"

Let's pretend you're Shizuku: which of these two applicants do you think is a better long term investment? It's obviously Aoba.

I'm not published in academic articles. I'm not a hack, but there are plenty of hack theologians that get books published.

I also had fiction published before, the only thing that's actually sold, so I had at least somewhat of a reputation.

>comparing the best case scenario with a worst case scenario

Yeah sure, that totally makes it a fair comparison.

How would it be fairer then?

Note, you cannot replace the Aoba example considering she's exactly the person spoken about in the topic. Your "best case scenario" is the actual scenario.

Aoba is the best case scenario though. That's the point.

But it's NOT a fair comparison because Aoba IS a best case scenario. That's the entire point.

So does that mean Aoba is a mary sue?

No user, not every anime character who is skilled in a certain field is a Mary Sue. There's a gigantic spectrum between "Mary Sue" and "Total loser".

Reminder that Aoba is so bad at her job that they pulled out all her designs and replaced them with Kou's because otherwise the game would bomb.

i wish i hadnt gone to uni, it wasnt worth

She is tensai artist. Doesn't need superior education.

So why do they even keep Aoba around? I haven't finished the series but shouldn't they fire her if it was that bad? They should make an OVA where she does get fired and has to live on the street whoring herself out after her parents kick her out of the house for being a disgrace

That's not what happened.

The suits feared that the game would bomb if they put a newbie as the lead artist on the credits so they put Kou's name instead so that they could do a "Made by Hideo Kojima" and use her name to boost sales.

liberal arts is ironic because they mandate what you generalize in to a certain extent, thereby reducing intellectual diversity

great for mind control bad for education

>looks like you aced math, blazed through art, and were a savant in history
>but you failed for english comp
>2.9GPA, here ya go

>I can't write a coherent paragraph, so it's the joos fault!

She's the best case cenario for impregnation, but you're not supposed to sexually harass your employees.

>you're not supposed to sexually harass your employees

I want to marry this smug, soft, old hag and become her househusband so we can play vidya together when she gets home after work.

That's a problem with the GPA system, not liberal arts. You could replace art, history, and English with biology, chemistry, and physics, and the point would still be just as valid.

>when she gets home

Haven't you been reading the thread? She leaves the house at 7 am, works until 10 or 11 pm, then sleeps until it's time to wake up again. She has absolutely zero time to be with you, except for MAYBE sunday, which she will spend sleeping.

Shizuku is the boss though, not a wageslave like Aoba. She can come and go whenever she wants to.

>househusband
You're gonna have to marry Hana-chan for that.

I never set foot in a college and I make six figures being a "software engineer", I quote it because I barely know half of what software engineer careers supposedly teach. I guess most of the shit in the curriculum is just filler to keep milking money off of retards for 4+ years.

wtf? How did you start that job? did you know somebody or have projects that you worked on in high school?

do you guys do scrum stuff?

>Hana
Who?

I started as a web developer then taught myself low level programming.

Kindly reminder that Nenechi, who got a good uni education, will be earning 2X Aoba's salary in a couple of years and eventually become CEO of the company while Aoba is a draw slave for life.
