Shoutout to our boys in blue. I am a minority and a stoner and I have literally never had a negative experience with a cop. Every single one has been polite, helpful, sympathetic, friendly, and reasonable. Even when I was in Occupy, the horseback cops shocked me by NOT brutalizing the protesters like I expected. They didn't even arrest me. Just looked at me like they were disappointed. That hurt.
They've never done anything to me personally except help me, escort me, warn me, guard me, and instruct me. I've been let off for every minor crime or traffic violation because I've been honest about them, and they've never laid a damned hand on me. They've been there in minutes every time I've called. They've given me rides just because I asked. They shake my hand and joke with me. Even when there have been misunderstandings, they've never overreacted to them or used violence on me.
