Horror

Why isn't horror a genre explore more often in anime?

We have plenty of great horror manga artists like Junji Ito (animenewsnetwork.com/the-list/2017-02-18/.112297), and Horror has often been explored in various Visual Novels like Saya no Uta, but why are good horror anime so few and far in between?

It not that animation isn't a good medium for horror. It can be a great medium. Sure there've been stinkers like Mayoiga and Another, but we've also had some great works like Shiki Corpse Demon, Perfect Blue, Wicked City, and Paranoia Agent.

What do you guys think?

Because it's too scary!

>Junji Ito
>edgy
OP's picture comes from one of his "gag" story though. Souichi shenanigans are fucking weird.

It doesn't sell.
It needs to be mixed with something else like isekai or battle shounen.
