Seattle native here. Graffiti communuty in this area is rather large (in age bracket), many “graffiti crews” around here have a gang-derivative mentality. Starting out small in high schools, muggings of other students, theft, vandalism of course and sometimes even murder, I personally Have known at least five kids who’ve died violently affiliated with graffiti gangs. Once they leave school as you can imagine, most cases only escalate to further gang activity. They’re heavily influenced by lefty activism, ie banksy and think they are some kind of freedom fighter anarchist rebels. So the link to Antifa and the graffiti movement is not surprising to me in the least. It’s a frontline guerilla propaganda machine that is largely unrivaled given that most conservative leaning youths in this area are presumably not taught that vandalism is acceptable.
