They wanted to rebel against their conservative parents. Disgusting and degenerate hippie boomers need to be gassed

Idk what denomination that is, but it looks like the same as the fuckers who were at Charlottesville.

>going to baby boomer redesigned mass by committee.

the boomers were poisoned by very sophisticated blanket communist espionage/sabotage pushed by international fabian socialists. the effort was headquartered in moscow.
the destruction of western religion was a stated goal from day one, 1917.
what we are seeing is the fruit of a hundred years of soviet work. the work continues.
the churches in my city all proudly declare their support for sanctuary status for illegals. the congregations eat it up - because they have been programmed to do so.

THIS. I was an alter boy in poland since i was 7. i moved to sweden and went to the only catholic church in my town and half of the altar niggas were girls, and half the people took communion in hand. what the fuck

I don't see what's wrong with the picture.

>half the people took communion in hand
Calm down faggot this isn't a big deal

What really annoys me is that they changed the mass in Ireland from Latin to English and thus ruining it

Catholicism>Protestantism>
"""Saved souls below"""
Islam>Judaism

Bet you can't hear your farts anymore after that experience.

Novus Ordo Missae was introduced in April 1969 by Pope Paul VI. It incorporates aspects of Catholicism and Protestantism and is generally condemned by both faiths.

My personal opinion is that any mass that helps people rejuvenate their faith is good, and I personally think the Catholic church can be extremely regimented and pious and maybe too formal for someone who has been away from the church for a while.
I don't really see anything wrong as long as the gospel is the same.

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

YOU WORSHIP A FUCKING RABBI AS GOD OF THE UNIVERSE!!!

WAKE UP!

I don't think you know what a "boomer" is.
Someone born between 1945 and 1960.
Second Vatican Council - to which you are referencing - was 1962.
Some boomers were aged 15 some were aged2.
Not at an aged where they can create and influence world event.
The planning for Vatican 2 was decades in the making.
Not a boomer initiative.

I dont get it, whats wrong with communion in hand

for that matter, while I get why you wouldnt want altar girls, sometimes there just isn't a fucking choice.

that said, guitars in church are the dumbest thing. And it almost always seems to happen in offshoots like protestants or baptists. such places are usually modern architecture and have tv screens that show lyrics on a cloudy sky backdrop

instruments in services and recieving the sacrament in the hand are things that can be found in church tradition going back to the 4th and 5th centuries

The Boomers against the Millennials this time?

The conservatives against the liberals next thread?

The Christians aginst the Muslims next time?

The whites against blacks next time?

Pitting one Western group against another? Yuri Bezmenov says that's how the KGB did it under Putin. I wonder why the Putin's FSB is doing this on Sup Forums today?

This was my cancerous church growing up to a T

Agree, And. If you are going to attack a group.
At least make it remotely feasibly possible that they could have done what you are accusing them of... See

boomers are born '45-'64

How important is the Mass to Catholicism? Well, to show you its importance, I quote the Catholic Catechism. Quote: “The Mass is the source of and summit of the Christian life.” That it is say, it is the origin of the Christian life and it is the high point. It was Cardinal Ratzinger, now calling himself Pope Benedict, who said, and I quote him, “The Mass is the sum and substance of our faith.” This is not peripheral. This is not on the edge. This is not one among many. This is the heart and soul of the system, even though there are seven sacraments by their definition. This is the main sacrament.

But at the very outset, the Mass is a deception because, there are no more sacrifices, there are no more altars. There is no more temple in which God dwells, no more tabernacle, and there is no more priesthood. It is therefore a false sacrifice on a false altar in a false temple by a false priest. At heart, it is a denial of the singular sacrifice of Christ on the cross, because the Mass is an offering of Christ repeatedly by an illegitimate priesthood on an illegitimate altar for a useless and ungodly purpose.

For by a single offering he (JESUS CHRIST) has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

This.

Boomers weren't even old enough to enter the seminary.

Roman Catholicism muddies the water and dishonors the HOLY TRIUNE GOD

Following orders from the Kikes.

>acknowledging that boomers fucked everything up means you're working for muh russia

it's just sad at this point.

But in the decades following VII, boomer priests increasingly Protestantized the mass to the point where the Novus Ordo became devoid of much spiritual significance.
Near me there’s a priest that ends Christmas mass dressed as Santa Clause, ffs.

The novus ordo was fucked from its inception. Boomers had nothing to do with it.

What is a big deal is that they changed the words of consecration so that the the sacrament is not effected.

So you are at a play mass.. there is no sacrament being effected.

youtube.com/watch?v=P4gieXJu2IQ

The Mass is not about your feeling good.
It's is about one thing and one thing only. Effecting the Consecration of the Eucharist through the matter and form of the Sacrament. None of which is happening in a Novus Ordo mass, no matter how many other prayers of thanksgiving, praise and intercession are said.

Can we somehow fork the papal lineage and roll it back to before Vatican II?

Become orthodox, you Cucks.

I dislike everything here except for Communion-in-the-hands. Feels really weird having another man's hand so close to my mouth.

True, but the rot was there before them.

They failed to stop the decay along with previous generations.

>Patriarch of Constantinople literally lives in a cuckshed in Turkey

>boomers 45-64.
Ok... So some weren't even *born* in 1962 Second Vatican Council.
That's some might evil power Boomers have - to corrupt something that was planned decades before they were even born.

Honestly, I don't think you can blame the boomers for all of it. They were just going with the times and with what was engineered by the Vatican. If you look at the far-right, reactionary culture from the time, most of it was pretty stupid except for William F. Buckley's set with the National Review. And even they didn't go far enough. So the boomers didn't have as good channels as we do today to get redpilled.

We're actually a privileged generation in many ways by having the internet, which has allowed more people than ever to be emancipated from the mainstream narrative.

>Feels really weird having another man's hand so close to my mouth.
Holy shit, get over yourself. It's a mercy that novus ordo consecrations aren't valid due to the countless acts of sacrilege that would be facilitated by communion in the hand otherwise.

>boomers 45-64.
Ok... So some weren't even *born* in 1962 Second Vatican Council.
That's some mighty evil power Boomers have - to corrupt something that was planned decades before they were even born.

Art for boomer faggots

they ruined everything

I don't feel myself worthy to stand before our lord and take his body in my hands. I am full of sin.
I will kneel before my king and humble myself.

It doesn't matter how you receive the communion so long as you do not desecrate the body of Christ. If you've confessed, then you're pardoned from mortal sin. Taking the Eucharist pardons you from venial sin. After the Mass, having confessed prior to Communion, say the Pater Noster and Ave Maria for the Pope's intentions. When you've finished that, read scripture for thirty minutes and then you'll receive a plenary indulgence for your sins.

That looks like ANTIFA banksy shit. Get the fuck out of here before I get the leafblower.

But it can go either way for example. Like you can also spend most of your time on Tumblr and EverydayFeminism

>so long as you do not desecrate the body of Christ.
And there's the pertinent point, which you so wonderfully glossed over. You do know that the priest's fingers have been specifically blessed to handle the consecrated host, right? Have yours, or any other part of your hand? This isn't even getting into particulate matter which is unaccounted for, which per church teaching is equivalent in value to the entire host. Good grief, you people just have no idea.

Convince me. I think Catholics are satanic but dont know much about orthodox

I don't understand Angloamerican's maniac dislike towards anything that has to do with body contact or germs, with all due respect for your folk

if you take it in your hands, there's a higher chance the Host will fall to the floor

Drawing the line at 64 is too late 1960 is the start of Gen X. The first wave of Gen X starts there since they would be 20 in 1980 and the youth movements of the late 70s early 80s was vastly different from the movements of the 60s and early 70s.

Look we get it you hate your parents or probably in this case your grandparents but people born in the 60s are not boomers.

Convince me communion is important.

My whole body and soul have been blessed to HOUSE the host by the sacrifice of the Christ. If he sees fit to live in me, I am fit to hold him.
Cuck.

I'm not here to play theologian to heretics. Go read a catechism, the Baltimore Catechism is a good place to start.

No thanks Satan, I’ll stick to the Bible, you stick to your pagan rituals.

They are Boomers. I know someone born in 1962 who is obsessed with Woodstock and the 60s.

Pope St. Leo the Great (440-461), already in the fifth century, is an early witness of the traditional practice. In his comments on the sixth chapter of the Gospel of John, he speaks of Communion in the mouth as the current usage: "One receives in the mouth what one believes by faith." (Serm. 91.3)

Pope St. Sixtus I ( 115-125): "it is prohibited for the faithful to even touch the sacred vessels, or receive in the hand";

Origen (185-232 A.D.): "You who are wont to assist at the divine Mysteries, know how, when you receive the body of the Lord, you take reverent care, lest any particle of it should fall to the ground and a portion of the consecrated gift (consecrati muneris) escape you. You consider it a crime, and rightly so, if any particle thereof fell down through negligence." (13th Homily on Exodus);

St. Basil the Great (330-379), one of the four great Eastern Fathers, considered Communion in the hand so irregular that he did not hesitate to consider it a grave fault (Letter 93);

The Council held at Saragozza (380), it was decided to punish with excommunication anyone who dared to continue the practice of Communion in the hand;

The local council at Rouen, France (650) stated, “Do not put the Eucharist in the hands of any layman or laywomen but only in their mouths”;

The Council of Constantinople (692) which was known as in trullo (not one of the ecumenical councils held there) prohibited the faithful from giving Communion to themselves. It decreed an excommunication of one week’s duration for those who would do so in the presence of a bishop, priest or deacon;

"This debasement to My Son's Body shall not go unpunished!” (Our Lady of the Roses, August 21, 1

That's no doubt true, but Korean cooking boards definitely played a part in me going far-right, just using myself as an example. And I know other people IRL for whom it had this effect. Every time I ever said anything critical about immigration or praised the writings of novelists such as Celine or Waugh I was mocked by my liberal peers in California.

Then how are our mouths not desecrating the host, especially when eventually it is digested? You're the one who needs to get over one's self.

>there's a higher chance the Host will fall to the floor
That's true, but I've never seen it happen before. Although I had a 10-year absence from the Church until this year, I did attend a parochial school with plenty of unruly children and at our weekly Mass on Wednesdays I do not recall a single act of desecration; I also attended every Sunday at the same parish. The only time a desecration did happen, some thugs had broken into the Church at night and apparently did something to the tabernacle.

To add
>Not caring if one of God’s children goes to hell
>not even putting in minimal effort to spread the word of your God

No wonder it confuses you when we try to tell you you follow Satan and try to get you to follow Christ; spreading the love and light of God is a foreign concept to those raised in blasphemy.

And the church founders lived in caves. What's your point? Orthodoxy is decentralized. Where one Patriarch lives is no concern to the others. Christian leaders shouldn't be living lives of luxury anyway.

I referred you to a catechism because they do a far better job of explaining church teachings than any summary I can whip up on a vietnamese caricature board. If you don't want to put in the "minimal effort" to read one, that's up to you.

>Then how are our mouths not desecrating the host, especially when eventually it is digested?
Because that's how it's always been meant to be received. Again, a priest's fingers are (or at least were before the fucked holy orders up as well) specifically blessed to be able to handle the host. He cleanses his hands before and after handling it with holy water and makes sure to consume any fragments that were either on them or caught by the paten during distribution of communion. Why would all of those cautionary measures be put into place if any faggot can manhandle the body of our Lord willy nilly?

How can anyone abide such a Jewish mockery of Christianity

I want to do a Holocaust Hitler softshoe routine in the middle of a synagogue

So if I'm choking on the host because I have a dry mouth, can only the priest put his fingers down my throat to get it out?

>just read these satanic manuals, goy
Just read the Bible, Catholic.

I've heard of people taking the host home. I've seen many people take it back to the pews before taking it. Think what sacrilege could occur if someone takes our lords body out of the church to defile it.

I don't like communion in the hand.

because the milenials called them homophobes

I'm sure God wouldn't be mad if you were choking. Why do people always have to name the most extreme case to make a point ?

And you wonder why I'm not bending over backwards to appeal to you.

In theory yes, but also in theory if you had just validly received communion that would be a pretty great time to die, don't you think?

The true point that the Church began its downhill descent is when Catholics stopped respecting the Eucharist. The "source and summit" of our lives.

The only impediment to recieving the Eucharist these days is being in a state of mortal sin. However, thanks to Jesuit probabilism that dominates theology these days, plus everyone's uncomfortableness with admitting that they might be in mortal sin, even those in such a state are probably recieving the Eucharist. People are given a free pass to the Eucharist even after they commit mortal sin because of clever language used such as "full consent of the will", "lower culpability", "primacy of conscience".

Maybe they are right. Maybe mortal sin is very rare. But God forbid you even dare try to suggest being safe and going to confession before each mass, or sometimes abstaining from the Eucharist. You get slandered as being a "Jansenist", whatever that means.

With the sacrement of the Eucharist, there is a chance of severely wounding Christ's earthly dignity. Why has this fact not been taken into consideration? Why has the Church become so lax around the Eucharist? Why is Pope Pius X considered a paragon of anti-modernism when it was he who completely obliterated the fasting, devotion, and respect of the Eucharist?

Like I said. Maybe these probabilists are right. Maybe everyone should be receiving the Eucharist every day even if they may not be worthy and it is still fine. Or maybe every single Mass you go to is a depraved orgy of blasphemy, and we need to keep that in mind.

only satan's spawn would choke

But desecration is a mortal sin! I might go to hell if I touch the host with my unconsecrated hands and don't manage to confess in time!

Boomers utterly destroyed this country. They think being rebellious is hip and edgy when in reality they have only fucked the west up beyond repair.
I hate them so goddamn much. They were the morally weakest generation to ever exist in recent memory. They utterly failed to impress western values into the next generation.

No, I wonder why a sect, ostensibly following Christ, hates the Bible so much.
I recommend starting with Matthew.
But I know you will never, ever read the Bible.

>resorting to mockery in order to justify your strange aversion to a priest's hands
I wonder how much you actually care about respecting the sanctity of the eucharist.

Obnoxious baptists are the worst aspect of American “culture”.

That would be Catholics. Baptists are probably on the better half of society.

Well our Antipope says we can goto Anglican Churches for Communion and that Adulterers are ok to partake in the Sacrament. He even gives communion to pro-life Catholic politicians.

To add:
>when a “follower of Christ” gets upset at the thought of reading the Bible.
Kek

I mean i get that, but it's not like jesus put bread directly into the apostles mouths. they passed around some bread.

And it's not even jesus giving you communion, it's a priest, acting as intermediary. hell, sometimes it isn't even a priest. in larger churches they do more than 1 line, and sometimes you get the eucharistic minister instead

It's okay senpai, Bergoglio and all the St. Fallen group will be dead soon

Then Cardinal Sarah will be elected Pope and restore the Church back to its former glory

I don’t. I get upset by ignorant burgers spewing their shit in every Catholic thread without having any knowledge of theology and history and while getting their interpretation of the Bible form scoundrels like Pastor Anderson.

Why do Vatican II adherents have a clown fixation? Because they want to rail your kids.

They did that all over the world senpai, not just here

It's also not just a language change, it's a completely different rite

but you don't read the Bible. You read an edited version that has 7 books taken out and many passages mistranslated to reach your heretical conclusions.

>Cardinal Sarah
The shitstorm on Sup Forums would be definitely hilarious.

The total lack of culture is considered a virtue by some. It's like being hit by a woman.

Sarah may be black but he is the most /ourguy/ cardinal at present

You have to decide what is right before God yourself. I feel that I nor any non-consecrated person should touch the body of Christ with their hands. There is the reason the Sacrament of Priesthood exists. Only they are allowed to effect the sacrament. It is one apostolic succession and has meaning in my mind.

Only in an ideal world, unfortunately...

I'm mocking your narrow mind, kiddo, not our Savior. Your opinion means nothing to me but the Church law everything. You also seem to forget that I merely have an aversion to a priest's hands being so close to my mouth, just as I dislike giving the "sign of peace" at the modern Masses. It's healthy and normal to dislike the touch of people you do not know, especially in a place so intimate as a mouth.

Your speculation brings up a lot of interesting points to mind. Personally I attend a Saturday vigil so that I can confess right before receiving communion. If for some reason I miss that and have to go on Sunday to honor the Sabbath, then I choose not to receive communion. I'm not sure if it's because I am scrupulous, but I do think it is a reverent gesture that counts for something.

As for your speculation about the validity of the Mass, I've often wondered the same myself, however, I remind myself that the Church even in the Middle Ages was quite different from the Church of the catacombs. While I might not like some of the hymns, the Eucharistic ministers, the "altar girls," etc. I do realize that at the end of the day the priest's consecration is valid.

that is because africa despite it's hellishness has been largely untouched by cultural marxism and is very traditional in religious observation.

not to mention, being a cardinal in a country that is 86% muslim probably opens your eyes a bit to what they are really like. bergoglio has little experience with them coming from argentina.
