OhYgE GhÃia. ÚQuKª HuIpphFyM PrwUKnaf?

You haven't been in many fights, have you?

I wonder how Saya's insides feel like.

She's a shoggoth, not your waifu, dude. Get a life.

Saya no Uta may be entry level but it is still one of the best VNs. I wish more there were more good short VNs

>one of the best VN
I just played it recently, don't get me wrong it was certainly good but one of the best? I'm not convinced. I gave it a 7 overall.

Kikokugai is the better short Butcher VN

It's pretty great.

And this is why Waifufags are the worst things to exist

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll be sure to check it out.

>may be entry level
I don't understand this meme. How is a loli eldritch monstrosity porn game with Kafka-esque body horror and rape entry level?

Pls explain, there's no way I'd casually recommend this to anyone outside of Sup Forums.

*scratches head*
...uhhh....hey buddy. Just trying to get around....
*scooches around slightly*
Uh.......haha....
*stands awkwardly in place*

It's very short and has few choices that directly lead to ends. Content aside as far as visual novels go it is considered entry level. That doesn't mean bad, just that it's a good recommendation for beginners to see what VNs are like.

We're all supposed to be mature adults, I would expect people to be able to handle a story about gore & sexual violence. I don't think anyone would just tell someone hey go play this game without letting them know what it's about.

Dá licença amigo

SAYA IS CUTE

To me entry level would mean I could conceivably get my normalfag friend to watch/play something as a first introduction of the genre and not think I was a weirdo. Sure it's a good recommendation especially for user but calling it entry level just seems wrong from a categorical stand point. You can't just put content aside, would we classify Unteralterbach entry level too? It has all the same characteristics of being short with few choices that lead directly to ends.

>I would expect people to be able to handle a story about gore & sexual violence.
The whole current year thing isn't just a meme.

Why would you post such an abomination.

I puked five times just from looking at that godforsaken creature. What vile universe could even concieve such horrors?

I like that we never got to see her true form in full view. Really hits home on the unknown unspeakable horrors of Lovecraft.

>I don't think anyone would just tell someone hey go play this game without letting them know what it's about.
That's exactly what I did to a bunch of my friends. It was a fun experience. They did the same to a bunch of people they know as well.

Granted you can't completely ignore content but visual novels on the whole aren't exactly an entry level hobby. I would call and assume you'd probably agree Katawa Shoujo is a pretty entry level visual novel but it's still got sex scenes in it.

I guess this sort of comes down to different ways of defining entry level. I would assume anyone I'm introducing to VNs is already into anime in which case I wouldn't have any reservations about content like this. On the other hand if we're talking about a complete normie then I would certainly have some more reservations about what I recommended to them, I probably wouldn't recommend anything that was 'too anime' and stick with something I'd be happy to show a complete beginner like Steins;Gate.

I don't know what you're getting at with that last comment though.

I mean if you know your friends well enough to know that will go down well sure. Some people who pick it up this way might not get put off by the gore but could well get put off by the sexual violence though. This is a pretty case by case situation.

Wasn't Yume Miru Kusuri considered the entry level VN back in the day?

Everything with an English patch was considered entry level.

So when you experience a medium for the first time do you always start with bland shit like you've never experienced entertainment before and don't know what genres appeal to you? To me something entry level is a work that doesn't rely heavily on self-awareness about tropes or the mechanics of said medium. Saya being fast-paced and to-the-point definitely helps given that VNs tend to go to the opposite extreme.

If you wouldn't like loli eldritch monstrosity porn filled with gore and rape in the first place then it doesn't matter how many VNs you've read, you still won't like it. However if you've liked body-horror works in other mediums then there's no reason you wouldn't like Saya, whereas there'd be a bigger barrier between liking dark mysteries and reading Kara no Shoujo for example.

Entry level has seemingly taken on many definitions. As far as I've always known it means normalfag accessible.

This is the VNG recommendation list and what they consider entry level. I'm not entirely sure what makes that qualification but I assume it's some combination of the things we've discussed here.

vng is utter garbage, but at least the list is ok.

Where the hell did this meme come from?
It's been spammed on every board for a week now.

>I would assume anyone I'm introducing to VNs is already into anime
I can see that I suppose. Entry level with regards to this genre being defined to a specific audience as that's just how the majority of the content is. Still seems odd to me, especially when as you mentioned there are vn's like Steins;Gate that are accessible to anyone but they are less common.

>I don't know what you're getting at with that last comment though.
Years ago I could recommend the odd, and dark stories to just about anyone for any genre and it would go over well. People tend to innately like bizarre things that make them uncomfortable. I haven't been able to do that nearly as often anymore without them coming back offended. That isn't trying to be commentary on politics either just more so that love for black humor seems dead outside niche circles.

>So when you experience a medium for the first time do you always start with bland shit
Not at all and I'd never recommend or classify those things as entry level. Entertainment can still be accessible without needing a mature rating. Although being in America the violence and horror are less offensive to most people than the loli.

Older than dirt my man. I think it came from Gaia originally.

Have you played kikokugai

Oh man we're at that point in memetics now?

I haven't, but I was the person who thanked them for the suggestion. If we happen to have another similar thread sometime next week you might be able to catch me for a follow up.

"Yo; you know where I can buy a sack?"

This, i think it's mediocre at best.
I expected more since people praising it too much and saying it's urobuchi's finest work. But i'm really disappointed.

Your waifu is a stinky pile of shit.

Obligatory

The barrier to enjoying Kara no Shoujo is that it's shit.
