What about Dog Days?
Nice stealth rec thread
>Is this the only example of isekai done right?
It's only good because it's not a real isekai.
>highly qualified specialists and no useless neet with wishfulfillment
>manga is older than the isekai trend
>no jprg mecanics with cheating broken skills
There is also this.
Don't forget this one
Fucking Japanese making Axis look like the good guys.
>muh Japan
>muh Italy
2 nukes were not enough I tell you
Nah. The OP is good but the actual show is pretty boring.
12 Kingdoms was decent
Well, Sup Forums?
>It's only good because it's not a real isekai.
It's about a pretty shonen-esque guy, who dies and gets sent to a fantasy world.
>>highly qualified specialists and no useless neet with wishfulfillment
Doesn't matter who gets sent into a new world.
>>manga is older than the isekai trend
Manga was from 2009. .Hack is from 2002 and these are from the 90's.
Drifters is good, because in a age, where the avarage, boring isekai is about a looser neet getting sent into a fantasy world, where he becomes a snarky hero and gets a harem of waifus, Drifters does things differently enough to come off as fresh.
Is this bait?
I heard that it had no ending, is that true?
What the fuck kind of shows you watch, if you found drifters boring?
>I heard that it had no ending, is that true?
It's been ages since I've watched it, but if I remember correctly it was more of a pseudo-ending as the light novel series it's based hasn't ended (I'm not sure about this). But the character development and arc it ends on is wrapped up nicely enough that I thought it didn't matter.
How new?
Also,
The author is all faithful when writing the japanese heroes, while taking liberties and making good people like Jesus, Rsputin and Jean into monsters.
It just replaces wanking off the MC with wanking off all superior Japanese warriors.
>Muh code of the samurai
>Never mind that was just made up propaganda spread by a later government to romanticize history and invoke nationalistic pride
see
None of those are Isekai. What the fuck are you smoking?
I don't get it.
Filename.
>How new?
I have been here for a few years. Why do you think that i am new?
>Also, Implying i want to touch any more of this Isekai garbage.
The trap faggotry ruined it. Also it wouldve been better without the unfunny comedy bits
>it wouldve been better without the unfunny comedy bits
/thread
>The trap faggotry ruined it.
Imo the trap should have been younger.
>Also it wouldve been better without the unfunny comedy bits.
This. And the action scenes were kinda boring.
I can't believe I have to be the first one to post this. You've forgotten your culture, Sup Forums.
...
No way fag.
>I heard that it had no ending, is that true?
The anime series ends properly.
The novels continue even now, so obviously there is lot more stories/arcs, but the arcs told in the anime were completed in the anime.
So it won't left you half way anything.
To think that and Death March are actually getting an anime adaption.
Mech autism will probably carry that saleswise.
Wonder if this means we'll be getting much more narou isekai in the future.
People complains lot about isekai, but when it comes to anime we only had "good" isekai (or decent at least). Some of them are even considered anime classics.
The only questionable isekai we had in anime is Re: Zero
So, stop bitching about isekai. The worst part of isekai is contained in LN or WN and that's /jp/ not Sup Forums
>when it comes to anime we only had "good" isekai (or decent at least).
Nope. over half of them are garbage.
My main problem with Isekai is that it is tacky and it killed the fantasy genre. It's hard to find a normal fantasy anime, that does not pader to weebs by making the mc a teenager from our world and by making the ''new world'' run on video game logic/tropes. What is the obsession with the hero from our world? Is it because the guy can offer modern and snarky commentary on the video game tropes? Or is it beause it is easier to self insert into a loser from our world, than a native fantasy character? You could cut out the first episode of most isekai's (Especially the part about the mc being from our world) and it would be slightly better, with nothing of value being lost (except a few otaku jokes).
That is why im complaining about isekai. It manged to single handedly ruin fantasy genre, while being pandering as all hell. Also, the isekai genre is a visible sign of the deterioration of anime in general and the lack of balls to take risks and make good stuff.
>It's hard to find a normal fantasy anime, that does not pader to weebs by making the mc a teenager from our world and by making the ''new world'' run on video game logic/tropes
Normal fantasy has outnumbered isekai anime this season, last season, and the season before that.
Obviously you aren't looking hard enough.
Isekai is a shit genre because it's a genre.
Nope.
I think the value is that he anchors the Audience better than bumfuck nobody. (If you neglect backstory.)
Not an anime but this was pretty well done imo
Yeah, i always thought that Guts would have been so much more relatable, if he was from our world.
No the point is that they can be lazier on setup.
>People complains lot about isekai, but when it comes to anime we only had "good" isekai (or decent at least). Some of them are even considered anime classics.
My main problem is that I'm a mangaonlyfag that happens to love fantasy seething mangas. So no, I'm not very happy about every new fantasy series being isekai shit. Fuck this.
Log Horizon was good, since it did something with the setting.
Indeed, as I said in when we talk about anime, there is not much isekai in first place (comparatively with fantasy).
Not even in manga, where there is a good amount of isekai, the isekai surpasses traditional fantasy in number.
The flood of isekai is on LN and LN never were about traditional fantasy anyway.
>the only interesting character was the Japanese salary man
did they ever explain why the princess had an underage fuckslave in her room?
>underage fuckslave in her room
That's medieval-like times common sense, there is nothing to explain
DRIVING, TWISTING TURNING SIDEWAYS
This, Eclair mai waifu.
I thought it was one of the most boring shows I've ever watched. Tried to like it but got bored and dropped it around episode 20.
Everyone be forgetting Sup Forums's favorite isekai VN.
I CAN'T TAKE THIS PRESSURE NO MORE
>without the unfunny comedy bits
I say this as someone who loves comedy but I agree. This author can't seem to hit my funny bone. Felt the same way about Hellsing.
This one did it even better.
>The only questionable isekai we had in anime is Re: Zero
Re Zero was fine, it didn't have JRPG skills and EXP and the MC was punished for treating it like a game.
The upcoming Death March anime, on the other hand? I sincerely hope that is a complete flop.
>So, stop bitching about isekai. The worst part of isekai is contained in LN or WN and that's /jp/ not Sup Forums
>we only had "good" isekai (or decent at least)
For the last time, SAO isn't isekai.
>what is Digimon
tfw used to fap to the bug queen
Are reincarnation stories even more cancerous than transportation stories?
No, because being reincarnated as a native denizen tends to make the MC fit more into the fantasy setting he ends up in. Authors then usually try a teensy bit harder to keep reincarnated MCs constrained by the rules of the setting so his incredibly overpowered demi-god status comes off as a TINY bit less contrived in the end.
Meanwhile in transportation stories the MC sticks out in the setting like a sore thumb and because it's impossible to give the MC any fancy cool powers organically since they're a regular NEET/japanese high schooler/salaryman thrown into a fantasy setting the author usually says "fuck it" and goes full ham with the whole TRANSPORTED HEROES HAVE SUPER CHEAT SKILLS FOR LITERALLY NO REASON asspull that everyone adores so much..
(Singin') Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na!
>Literally kicked off the ''trapped in a game like world'' trend in the first place.
>Not isekai.
sure.
Maybe because they're trapped in a literal game and not "another world" (cough "isekai") that happens to resemble one?
Really? Is semantics your best comeback?
So neither Log Horizon or hack are isekai, right? Or No Game No Life? But Youji senki is?
>LaughingAnimeGirls.jp
Same difference.
>ctrl+f
>no Dunbine
You literally have no idea what you're on about and the guy is right. SAO is not isekai. That new arc itself might be. But trapped in a literal video game which is not a real world is not isekai.
Not him, but semantics is necessary.
It's impossible to have a discussion about a subject if the definition changes every week.
And No Game No Life isn't a game.
It's just a world with games.
>Re Zero was fine
That's why I said "quesitonable" because is the only one that has divided opinions.
Sometimes happens. Sometimes you know something is good but can't help to find it boring. I tried to watch Moster 2 times and dropped it both.
Youki Senki is kinda of weird. I think Tanya would have done well without Being X's gift. She/he isn't that normal to begin with.
The MC of Nirvana has had a magical artifact since before going to the other world, but it couldn't do anything before because the pieces that make it work were in the other world. Is that any better?
t. triggered burger/gook
No, but it's a good one.
>Never mind that was just made up propaganda spread by a later government to romanticize history and invoke nationalistic pride
Just like Americans did.
Hopefully. We might see more stuff like death march if it's successful.
Im not holding my breath however.
...
I've never seen this before and just started watching it on youtube. This dub is hilarious.
>I need a drink!
>I can't live without a drink!
>*woman's scream in the distance*
>OH SHIT! Someone else is out of alcohol!
What isekai would you guys want to see adapted anyway?
>What isekai would you guys want to see adapted anyway?
Nothing. It's time to stop the isekai genre and start making good anime again. I bet once the nip economy gets good again, they will stop making isekai.
Shinju no nectar
Unironically.
It has a decent interesting setting, the MC power is pretty simple not some hax copy skill bullshit and is borderline H.
For those who care, ouroboros records updated. And shieldbro vol 17 cover, Is it me or does naofumi look a bit more... girly?
Bill Paxton actually died today lol.
Dungeon Meshi because it's the best fantasy manga right now.
Best isekai right here.
Seems to be too shoujo for neo-Sup Forums, though.
Meshi is not isekai.
You must be beyond retarded.
SAO is a ripoff of .hack and neither of them are isekais.
I know, that's why I said "fantasy manga"
>today
I think Twelve Kingdoms did it very world, introducing a strange world where it wasn't like all these modern ones where it felt the main character could fail and didn't hint at the reveal every twenty seconds.
Is that the shield of compassion and barbarian armor ex?
But the post you quoted asked about isekai manga.
Of course you can want a Meshi adaptation like I want an Dorohedoro or Mai Ball adaptations for example. But that isn't relevant to what we were talking about here.
Not sure about it being Barbarian armor EX but that could be the compassion shield
>and didn't hint at the reveal every twenty seconds.
What's that mean?
>Rasputin
>good person
>But that isn't relevant to what we were talking about here.
Sorry for that, but I don't have many occasions to talk about this manga
SPOILER
It didn't reveal the MC was the blood right ruler of the land right off the bat, but gave some nice hints here and there that gradually led to the reveal. Also everyone treated her like shit and stayed like that for a good while.
I think Re:Zero is isekai done right and there isn't really any argument that can prove otherwise.
Well, I think Elfen Lied is one of the best anime ever made and there isn't really any argument that can prove otherwise since it's my personal taste.
Sales.
>Sales.
Hm? What do you mean?
>Still thinking nips would ever creat something of value
