Yami is supposed to be the main heroine of darkness with her but it feels like Momo gets way more art and focus.
Any ending that ends with Lala being sad is a crime, and Lala isn't even best girl.
Yami got way more development in Darkness than Momo, but Momo hogged a lot of the screentime
Open end with "Rito's love troubles will continue!", with an open end, angling for a followup series that'll further steer towards harem. Maybe something like TLR:Galaxy, so Rito can visit other planets and get monster girls into his harem.
Ending it without a harem would be a middle finger to the entire development we got in Darkness and would even render the original series inconsequential. "Alien princess shows up, falls in love, gets rejected and fucks off into space again" would be a beyond shitty overall story.

I disagree, at least in the case of Momo or Haruna winning. Haruna being Rito number one has been set through the entire series, first series ended with that, and there were lot of chapters in Darkness setting the confession that happened in last chapter. Wouldn't be rushed at all.
Momo wanting Rito for herself alone has been set since the beginning of Darkness and became blatant after the first time Lala's mom show. Since then it has been hinted a shitload of times. So wouldn't be rushed either.
A Harem end, however, certainly would be rushed. Specially after what happened in last chapter.
Anyway, I think that we will move into a new series, because they will continue milking it. But all those hypothetical endings make sense.
