So Sup Forums, are there any anime that are actually better than their manga/vidya version?
Anime adaption an improvement?
...
We've had this thread very recently.
Ouran high school host club.
Sketchbook.
This.
That's about all.
This
Weirdly, whenever A-1 takes up SOL mangas with passable at best art is usually good.
GTO manga is actually damn good.
Kaiji
Seto no Hanayome is the only one that comes to mind but that's mostly because I barely read any manga so I don't really know.
Samurai Champloo
Manga is complete trash though it was made after the anime.
Hidamari Sketch
OP mentions anime which is adapted from a manga. Manga made for the anime seems to be mostly bad too.
GungraveKinda
Wagnaria.
Gintama
The anime was 9/10, I haven't played the game but it certainly didn't look amazing at the time.
I guess Kaiji and Initial D, off the top of my head.
Arguably many ecchi anime.
I can not think of any anime adaption based on a video game that is better than the actual game.
JoJos
Debatable though
Tales of zesteria the x?
mostly anything adapted by kyoani
Pretty much anything from KyoAni, honestly. It seems like they try to find the most mediocre source material.
For Part 1 and 2 I agree.
...
I want to see someone adapt Voynich Hotel already
Aria
This. K-On is one of the worst manga I've ever read, yet somehow the anime bumped it up to mediocre.
k-on manga is mediocre while the anime is a masterpiece
ftfy
No. I love them both but the manga is better. The Anime has a god tier soundtrack but the animation in the first series is pretty bad, there's missing chapters, and this may be a bit of a nitpick but I feel it's just a tad too slow. Still amazing but the Manga is better.
I was right there's nothing to fix
>Read the manga while the Anime OST is playing
Ultimate Aria experience
Usagi Drop, I guess.
GiTS
Gungrave.
Both adaptations of Hunter x Hunter, leaning more toward 2011.
CCS
Angelic Layer
wagnaria
chibi vampire
cat planet cuties

rumbling hearts
and you thought there is never a girl online

etc
Akame ga Kill
Don't forget Casey and Friends.
Kare Kano
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, if LN adaptations are allowed
Haven't read either, but at least that's what people say
Tokyo Ghoul probably
The exact opposite and I hope to god Pierrot never does an adaptation again
Tanaka-kun
...
winner winner chicken dinner
Youjo senki anime is infinitely better than the LN.
Space Brothers, but only because of the soundtrack.
I'll say I agree with you until Shonen fans bitch about how it wasn't faithful to the manga, even though it had much better pacing and character development.
manga adapatation of anime are usually pretty meh.
Fate/Zero got a far better adaptation than it deserved. You can think Urobuchi is a fine writer if you like but the F/Z LN will do its best to convince you he's a fucking hack.
Definitely this
akiba strip
...
really iy seems a lot worse
usagi drop
Hellsing Ultimate
Hokuto no Ken for everything except art
ZSZ
Gintama, the first 2 season at least
They're both great and have grand faults.
The anime has pretty bad pacing and VIsha's design is shit. I got used to it but I like her LN design more. The LN is wordy as fuck, goes around in circles, the author admits its questionable at best, and is a bitch to translate.
Nah, just that brown loli.

High School DxD
For the soul fact that i can't enjoy the only good thing about the series (looking at the girls) in a fucking LN
...
Came here to post this.
Akagi too
Season 2 rushed some parts like the beginning pretty hard, though.
The main issue with the Jojo anime is that it has some pretty heavy quality drops on occasion. Also Araki's art style is too good to pass up in some instances.
