Why do people constantly refer to KLK as "edgy"?

Why do people constantly refer to KLK as "edgy"?
There's absolutely nothing edgy about it.

Everything in between Ryuuko going berserk, and having Junketsu ripped off her was edgy.

No, it really wasn't

It was.

It's because she looks like shadow the hedgehog.

No

An outfit that needs blood to gain power is pretty edgy already.

>tampons are edgy
Sup Forums everyone

It's a meme you dip

You don't have to cut your wrist every time you use a tampon.

>An outfit that needs blood to gain power is pretty edgy already.

This is your bloodsucking edgelord for tonight. He likes cute girls and getting ironed.

Yes you do.

It stars a human female Shadow the Hedgehog. It speaks for itself.

Tampons gain power when you bleed on them? Is this some sort of conspiracy theory?

>Ryuko's character design
>Ryuko's attitude
>revenge quest
>rebellion against authority figures
>opposition to societal structure
>Ryuko literally turning into a monster out of rage
>Ryuko abandoning her friends out of angst
>Ryuko under mind control
>Nui "Murder Is Fun Teeheehee" Harime

This is your edgehog for tonight. She likes cute clothes and having big family dinners.

I want to marry her

Black and red color schemes are inherently edgy

would you agree that this show was/is the deadpool of anime?

I liked both by the way, but their place in their respective media seem very similar

People are just screwing around. KLK was a cute show.

Get away from her, she's mine

Stop making these shit KLK threads.

Not on anything except a superficial level. Good or bad, Deadpool was a lot more self aware than any other cape film, and did a lot to change western capeshit movies even in a short timespan (i.e. making r rated cape movies feasable among other things) whereas KLK didn't really make any waves at all afaik and didn't really outshine its contemporaries. That's all from like a Doylist/bussiness perspective though.

Looking at the content however, I'm not really seeing it either. Story and character wise the series are diferent, it's tonally different (more or less) and aesthetically different too, etc. etc. There were a few 4th wall breaking instances in KLK and I get that's what you're aiming at, but if that's the basis for the comparison then I'm not really seeing it.

>living clothing is into being ironed
MODS

>dude red and black means it's edgy lmao
>dude blood means it's edgy lmao

Ryuko has the Shadow the Hedgehog color scheme going on. That's about it.

What's with all the TriggerNiggers today? Did they announce something?

>kill la kill
>not edgy

Come now user. Don't be an idiot.

>Did they announce something?
P&S S2 got announced to Summer 2018.

Because the production has been so friendly in the recent years, people have forgotten what "edgy" stands for.
>remember when all the edgelords religiously watched Death Note and Elfen Lied as if it was the most subversive shit there has ever been?
>neither do I

youtube.com/watch?v=oQjEBVJ7Enk

Yeah sure OP, not edgy at all.

look at this edgelord

False.

prove it wasn't faggot

>prove something was not announced
that's not how it works you nigger faggot I don't have to prove a negative, you have to prove a positive

Cute. Cute!

Could you say it's a parody of edgy?

It has those 'edgy' cliche's but doesn't take itself nearly seriously enough to actually be edgy.

It absolutely is.
Everything in KLK is to be taken to the second degree.
It's a parody of action-shounen not just by subverting its visual codes but by constantly and openly making up its own rules and cancelling previous points, by using and pointing out the use of cliches, etc.
Nothing in KLK is serious. That's the whole point.

>Tampons
>Outfit

For the millionth time, edgy and cute are not mutually exclusive.

Shit man, I dunno. Maybe they do? Women seem to become much more aggressive and violent on their periods after all.

what is up with the pose?

>A serious moment being serious is now edge

Indeed. The premise of a super-powered militaristic student council is itself the logical ultimate parody of school-centered anime.

>don't know how to use a tampon

>this was the message that Kill la Kill was sending all along

...

Don't lose your weight

Exactly. Edgy is just a garbage meme used by worthless faggots when they don't like something.

I don't even like KLK.

What's not to like?

The first half was a lot of fun, but second half was incredibly boring, and it killed any interest I had in the series. The spent too much time and effort trying to make the clothing superpowers make sense, and forgot to actually make the audience care about the characters.

>Falling for the ultimate pun bait

You forgot to mention she slits her wrists in order to power it

It isn't that edgy. It is more cliche and generic than anything.

I did eventually.

Incestuous child molester who threw a baby in the trash was pretty edgy
