I read it for oppai powered JoJo levels of fight scenes, ecchi harem antic are just a bonus

There's not much fanservice in the novel. The author described it as a battle shounen disguised as a harem.

Of course, the anime cut and changed both fights and a chunk of the story, so they could shove it full of fanservice to make it sell more.

Boring volumes that were just setup. Then volume 20 came around and shit hit the fan moreso than 10-12. End of the world, many characters are now gone. We're in the final arc now.

Yeah. Pretty much no other series under the specific branch of the label can get away with it. It's fine though because we got time travel shenanigans like StB to see how many girls he had kids with. He has 20 kids roughly 30 years in the future. Devils on average take 100x that, and it took like 1000 years for Rias to be conceived. So far only 10 or 11 mothers are confirmed.

Although he just proposed to two girls in one volume so that's gotta count for something.

Not that guy but Issei's pawn pieces did turn into a mutation piece.
Also he is more or less the trigger of power-ups of people surrounding him.

As much I also want to see Ravel as Issei's queen, that's purely speculation.

Funnily enough DxD is actually a series where I like all the heroines equally. Though I do favors Rossweisse and Akeno more than the others. I enjoy the worldbuilding and every character that's why I was hooked on back then.

Did S3 follows the novel? I remembered S1 was volume 1-2, and S2 was supposed to follow volume 3-4 I think.

Maybe it's just me but I've always felt Diabolos Dragon should have stayed a last resort form vs Gods and they should have just kept building on True Queen.

Or even just have power ups after True Queen but below Diabolos Dragon. Just making DxD weaker is kinda lame.

True Queen was used for 10 volumes straight, we had seen it enough.

You're getting exactly what you want Issei is going to have to train his regular Balance Breaker and True Queen to be able to handle DxD. Once Ophis sees he can handle it he'll get the full DxD mode again.

Agreed i'm still fucking angry V20 had an Asia cover even though it was completely Isseis fucking book. Shit it didn't even have a single illustration with him in it.
Zero just does whatever loads of characters have either no cover when it was their book or no illustrations at all.

As far as I know from other LNs, the author doesn't even get to pick illustrations or the cover, so this is Miyama's fault. Rias and Asia aren't even the most popular girls, and it's clear that the popularity in this series shifts depending on who's getting the current spotlight, so I don't know what he's ever thinking.

Ishibumi has always said how this series would have a harem end with all the girls being happy. I have no doubt he's going to deliver unlike TLR.

He doesn't have those, what are you talking about? In terms of usability, the True Longinus is still the best. If it was in the hands of someone who wasn't a human they'd be broken.

It's more that Issei is OP and not the boosted gear itself so you can't really compare it.

Issei's only strength right now without the boosted gear is being able to turn into a dragon. Before that he was useless without it.
