Theodore Dalrymple

I've just read Theodore Dalrymple's book "Life at the bottom", on wich he describes the life of the british lower class, calling them "underclass". What strikes me most is that the chav behaviour described is practically identical to what we see here in Brazil on the favelas, even down to minimal details as the tatoos and the walking patterns.

The similarity between the behaviour of the mostly white british underclass and the mostly black brazillian underclass makes me doubt the weight of the racial question on those social issues, because what links the problem in both countries (and also in the USA) are the government handouts, or gibsmedat, more than the ethnicity.

What does /pol thinks about it? British user, is the author correct on his descriptions?

America has gotten much better at policing while common criminals have not been able to evolve nearly as much. Repeat offenders have to take lengthy vacations from criminal activity by being thrown in jail. I've also been thinking the increasing need for longer education and lack of "growing up" plays a part.

The police can stretch only so much, after that they start killing too, and they area much better at it than the criminals, this explains part of the astonishing murder rate in Hueland

4) Social desintegration. When someone migrates from Northeast to Southwest, he left his little city, where he knew his neighbours, where he new the local priest, where he lived with his big family in a 80m2 to try the life in São Paulo, where he lives in a favela, his sons either must stay locked at home or they will play with their favela friends, become dad/mother at 14, smoking pot and crack and going to funk parties. He doen't know who his neighbours are and he joins the first crazy christian church he find.
Look at Argentina. They had everthing we had, but violence there is way better than here. Why? Because they kept these social links.

Haven't read it but probably. Culture has a lot to do with it and the working class of Britain are mostly leftwing scum, that said I would imagine that they commit less crimes than the niggers in the favelas
