Freesia

best ending ever?

Not really, but a solid read throughout.

I kinda dislike the episodic structure

I didn't really think of Freesia as manga with episodic structure. Each, like, killing arc, kind of advances personal character arcs and after each killing their whole office is closer to being shutdown.

What's your favorite character?
>dont say Kano

Alice in hell updates when?

Yamada. I see a lot of myself in him.

Oh, fuck, I forgot, either Yamada or Iwao, she was so freaking hot.

I don't really remember the ending that well, but I recall it being somewhat unclear. Though it's possible I just wasn't paying enough attention.

I don't think it was as unclear as people make it out to be. The one thing that is clear to me is that Kano has done his job of killing his target, but he most surely died. I just think it's purposefully not definitive to be open for interpretation.

I think he died because all of the main characters have met their perils, only one who hasn't died was Yamada, but even then he killed an innocent life, that's his peril.

The last few pages are meta shit akin to Anno addressing actual theater's audience at the End of Evangelion.

That seems like a solid enough interpretation. How are you so sure about it though? Did I miss something?

I honestly don't know, Freesia just clicked with me and I really enjoyed reading it. Meanwhile I have friends who dropped it because they found it to be too confusing.

Kano

Definitely Kano.

Freesia is one of my favourite manga. In Jiro's other manga he often goes off the rails a bit too much but everything in Freesia just works perfectly.

I waiting for them too... maybe i should bu the italian manga, at least the finished pubblishing it

Joshikohei? I saw the scan of the last 2 volumes...dayumm that shit is deeper than a odorowsky's movie

The only good man of the manga?

All Matsumoto's women are fucking hot

Today.

should i read this manga from left t right?

Real Kano gets shot & killed by the police at the end of chapter 81/start of chapter 82. They show it in such detail that it seems like it has to be real.

The Kano we see towards the end of Chapter 82 (the one pointing the gun at Tanaka) I believe to be a hallucination within Tanaka's mind. Notice how in the scene right before that, he begins talking crazy, and even sees a hallucination, seeing the kid sitting across from him as someone else. (his younger brother? His younger self?)
I should also note that Tanaka's writing in this scene felt a bit more Kano-like to me, so it definitely seems possible that he's starting to go insane in the same way Kano was.
This means that it's completely possible he would still have a hallucination of Kano, especially after all that he's been through, and after hallucinating about Kano previously.
This is further evidenced by the fact that we never actually see Tanaka get shot. There's never even the sound of a gunshot. All we see is Kano pointing the gun at him, and then it simply cuts away to the next scene.

That scene being the final scene, set inside the cafe.
My theory for this scene is that... Perhaps Kano has now taken on the same role that Higuchi had in the beginning of the series, as a figment of someone's imagination... a hallucination. Kano is sitting there, and it seems like the waitress notices him, but it could also be that the waitress is simply noticing the other person, sitting in the chair opposite of Kano, who is likely sitting there talking to themselves (much like Kano used to).

Not only is the set-up for this scene very similar to those earlier scenes (where Kano was hallucinating about talking with Higuchi in the cafe), but Kano here also looks slightly different, a bit more like Higuchi did in those scenes, which I feel is clearly meant to symbolize some amount of similarities for this situation. My guess is that the person who is hallucinating about all of this is most likely Tanaka

Kano's a cuckold

This is what I meant. I had similar thoughts to you, but the other guy's interpretation seems legit as well. I'm sure it was intentionally left a little vague.

It was interesting to see a guy who strongly believes in the system people made who then realizes that no one actually cares about rules and the system and it doesn't work the way it was meant to work.

It was kind of like watching a guy realize that school doesn't have all the answers and tests don't objectively reflect how smart you are.

On a side note: my favorite part was watching these lil' shits doing work.

Let's turn this thread on an Umaru~chan shitpost

What are Illuminati-Manga doing? Last chapter of Alice was on sep2016

I think Kano dies, but he lives on as a delusion-type existence. He lives on as a 'delusion' of the people he has met, including Tanaka and the reader. This represents how he has had an impact on people's lives and how people are traditionally thought to live on in memory. At the end we (the reader) appear to be sitting alone to the waitress and it's out cup that she refills.

Apparently someone has started to translate Jiro's new samurai manga. Have any of you read it?

Ichigeki
