First Anime

First Anime you guys ever watched.

I am 21 and first one I watched was Elfen lied

...

Iria: Zeiram the Animation for me. I remember using a pillow to block the light coming from the tv so my mom wouldn't bitch about me staying up.

Damn this place has become pleb.

I remember at time when I was twelve, I watched Elfen Lied, because I heard it gave my little brother nightmares. He was seven.

I ended loving it. Just appropriate stuff for puberty.

I'm 33 and it was some super robot show named Arbegas.

I should try watching it again.

My Neighbor Totoro on VHS

>spacing
My first anime was Outlaw Star

soviet cartoons if that counts

Yea Elfen lied was my first anime and I was also 12 at the time, I remember posting on Gaia about it. NGE was my 2nd

Shaman king at 9, it was amazing for me back then

I don't remember the name, the only thing I remember it was a scene with a naked girl taking a shower, some romance, spacial robots stuff and mecha genere.
It was like 10 years ago.

everything on adult swim like 10 years ago.

Elfen lied was actually probably the first anime I downloaded though.

Because of the nudity.

I'm same guy.

No. I think first anime I ever saw was Doreamon. I was probably six at the time. At time I was very curious about morbid kids animations and I went through many in my teenage angst.

Elfen Lied really didn't hit me that hard as it did other kids. I was already watching snuff films, reading Dante's Inferno and really gothing it up.

First anime I've ever seen was either sailor moon or Dragon ball , back then I didn't really give a fuck if it was an anime or a cartoon.

First show that really pulled me into anime was School rumble since it was broad. The one who fucked my life into what I it is now was Haruhi though, I devolved into hoarding Haruhi pics and reading the novels , I was a normie before I watched haruhi.

1983, 7 years old.

Yeah, I'm old as fuck.

Nice blog faggot.

Besides stuff like Pokemon then it was Lucky Star like 8 years ago.

i remember my big brother waking me up to watch it premiere on toonami.
thanks bro, even if you're a disappointment to my parents i still owe you one for all those times you'd let me watch you play games or watch the big kid cartoons (anime)

Casshern

It was either 3x3 Eyes or Cobra. My parents got into anime around the time I was born.

One of the Project A-Ko OVAs. Forget which one, but it was back in the early 90s when scifi channel played an OVA every Saturday morning.

I thought anyone on Sup Forums over 40 gets quarantined to /tg/, what are you doing here?

27, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Around 17 years ago.

Im 24, probably CCS or FMP

Naruto
Eastern european shithole and it was the only anime translated in my language at the time and on TV

Love Hina

Went into depression for a year because in contrast my life was so shit it became overwhelming.

>21
>Elfen lied
Did you live as an amish all your childhood? There is no way you never saw something else on TV before.

Pocket Monsters
Back when I was something like 5 years old I believe.
I have fond memories of getting my parents to buy me the first VHS with the first few episodes and playing that shit over and over again.

That said, at that time, I was kinda more into whatever Sup Forums was at the TV.

My dad was watching Devil Hunter Yohko and I just snuck in behind the couch at age 4-5. First anime watched of my own accord was either Pretear, Nerima Daikon Brothers, Steel Angel Kurumi or Pani Poni Dash

20 and my first was also CCS

I can't remember. It was some mainstream shit like Pokemon, Digimon or DBZ. You know, the usual stuff kids watched back then.

When I started getting into more "obscure" anime I think the first thing I watched was either Love Love? or Myself;Yourself.

First anime that I knew was anime and not some western cartoon, Rosario + Vampire.
No matter how shit it is, I will always cherish and love the first series that got me into anime.

My first one was Mirai Nikki. I loved the fuck out of it. Didn't realize it was hated everywhere.

this

23 y/o first was either Pokemon or DBZ while watching Saturday morning cartoons in 1998 when I was four on kidsWB.

13 yrs old Attack on Titan

Voltes V.

Pinoy Pride Worldwide.

Was about 6 yo and used to watch sailor Moon on the TV.

Loved the shit out of it

Yu Yu Hakasho when it aired on Adult Swim, I was 11

This

And this.

Ghost in the Shell (in the theater no less), and Appleseed that my older brother rented from a place and then never returned it.

It was either CCS or DBZ when I was about 4. 20 now. I had the first volume of the shitty CCS dub on VCR.

>Fuck you WB20.
>Always came after Power Rangers.

>6 years old
>run out onto the playground
>get the biggest rock I can find
>hold it over my head and shout TEKNO POWERRRRRRR
>try and throw it at somebody and get super busted

Robotech on Tv.

I mean, Voltron and Speed Racer and the like were in sindication and I probably saw them before, but the Macross saga in Robotech was the first thing I ever watched that I was consciously aware was not just another cartoon.

Robotech lead me to Clash of the Bionoids in my local video store, and the shelf of other anime titles with it.

Grimm's Fairy tales 1987 in Nickelodeon. There was a bumblebee one too. I was 5.

Nest foray was DragonBall/Sailor Moon fucking 5am on Sunday morning, I don't remember the channel. I was like 12-13. Dad caught me watching Sailor Moon and was like "my boy ain't watching this faggot shit"

However soon after Scifi (not SyFy) started their Saturday morning anime. And the good shit like Project A-ko, Lensman, Vampire Hunter D, Tank police. Dad was into that shit, so he recorded it so we could both watch it later. Follow that up with the comic book store opening an anime/manga section and it's been downhill since.

That's a funny way to write "uphill" Sup Forumsnon

-Mazinger Z + Astroboy here (circa~1985/6 IIRC)

I think it was Yu Yu Hakusho around 17 years ago, I'm 24.

Ditto. Before Elfen lied I was under the impression that anime was geared specifically to kids. Well, the beginning of episode 1 quickly told me otherwise.

>watched YuYu Hakusho in high school 17 years ago
>you were 7

brb time to sudoku

Nice blogging thread OP. MODS

Toradora

Dragon Ball, 16 years old. I'm 20 now.

The first anime I watched (and regarded as anime) was Elfen Lied, when I was 19 and just finished my first year of university. That was 7 years ago now.
I was looking up some songs from a band I liked on youtube, and I came across some AMVs with Elfen Lied. So I checked them out because of the cute thumbnails, and they really caught my attention. I thought, "Cool, what show is this from? Its got cute girls, violence, and nudity, looks great!" I loved it, and I got my brother into anime too.
I was looking for something new and fun at the time, and watching anime turned out to be a great new hobby.
