Dropping in to say that this seems even more unpopular than Aquarion Logos was.

It's not even nearly as bad as the lack of popularity might make it seem. Somehow even Fune wo Amu got more discussion last seaso.

Episode 1 was kind of bland and had horrible animation

Has it improved?

This. I attempted to pick it up but episode 1 was so visually bland.

This show owns in a 70s hard-boiled samurai cinema way. Truly the most underrated series out there right now.

it has improved substantially

>not watching it for the story
This is the pervasive state around here sadly, more so nowadays.Me bitching wont do anything for sure.

Watching for the story is fine but the animation was just so fucking awful in the first episode it was hard to get through

I found the show good. It just didn't appeal to me personally.

Oh shit, it's already out?

I might pick it up again, I liked the story but the animation was insulting

it's out and it's good

Episodes 5-7 were great, 8 was good but wasn't as strong, how well did this one go?

It's a visual medium. If I only wanted a good jidaigeki story I'd do something else.

an interesting if sentimental dip into Heizo's past, nice fighting scenes and a quaint little story arc

gud/8

Wait, why is it one day early this time.

The opening reminds me of James Bond
Because the series is based on the book that more or less invented the 70s hard-boiled samurai cinema way

...

>30 minutes

...

Rekt.

He said, 半時(はんとき) right?

That scene reminded me of
youtube.com/watch?v=xFY0DHaNoIs

Experts said "That really was a good match."

Shit, that was pretty good

Kendo is fast as fuck when they start from the videos I found posted around the net, I want to say it is because of the modern protection they just disregard the blows and went sanic for points. Any other older video of a spar wearing no protection though?

What a bitch, if only she could see how amazing he turned out.

still a bastard who wasted his father's money on booze and hookers

Aye, I want to see that too. She's probably dead by current time though.

His father still loved him though, he probably knew what it was like being unruly given how he too was put into shape by the dojo master. Both seem to have received some good life lessons.

>take the job
>thats no boat.

Why didn't yall tell me the official twitter put these little things out

...

they have a twitter? ayy

...

Chugo is cute.

I should have seen that coming.

And that's that.

Why is Omasa punching Chugo.
Thank you.

This episode really makes Otomatsu's episode hit that much harder.

he's a lover

Reminds me of that scene from Hero. Not quite as exciting though, thanks to the lack of flying kung fu men.

I keep fucking forgetting that this airs. Hype.

LULULULULULULULULULU

Was everyone a thief in the Edo period?

only those who got caught.

>tfw you will never have an interesting backstory like Hasegawa
>you will never learn life lessons from thieves
>stuck browsing Sup Forums
I don't give a shit if this has some bad animation. The story and ost make up for everything.

it was hard to leave the gang and go legit if you helped with some thievery as a kid

Yes the entire population of Edo consisted of cops and robbers, with some prostitutes on the side.

The animation is not even that bad and the scenery/design makes up for that. It's a nice little gem that's overlooked for some reason, probably because most people just download everything from horriblesubs.

Aye, in fact, Heizo's wife was a former thief and his son is actually a thief at night. The only people who aren't thief in Edo are the Arson Theft Police.
The OST is really good, it's a perfect old police drama OST. Full ED when.

I didn't know. That's pretty neat.

>Japan
>99% of population used to be thieves
>one of the top economies in the world

>any European country
>99% of population used to be farmers
>significantly below Japan

Best episode so far. Not really sure why but it felt the most emotionally potent.

It's been out for a while

I see, thank you very much.

Nice

It's like in RPG-inspired settings (isekai) where everyone and their mom wants to be an adventurer.

Nice, thought the site was kill for a while now.
