Hunter x Hunter

Is it stronger than Meruem?

What's with all the HxH threads lately? Did a new chapter drop or did Togashi announce that the hiatus stops?

Also, it's not.

Making a new thread I see? Want to let the previous one die down instead of running away?

>What's with all the HxH threads lately?
Probably the dedicated troll we've had the last couple of weeks. Same thing happened last week when he kept spamming CA related threads.

>Stronger than Nuke?

I just started making my dad watch this show and we're going with the 2011 version. Deal with it.

How did you feel after "RISING SUN"?

Five episodes in, user.

Oh man, I can't wait for you to see it. Honestly, I think the scariest thing in that entire show is probably Humans.

how do you feel about that chimera ant queen (male) that you just posted

Hiatus stops April

To clarify I've seen both versions of the anime and I'm up to date on the manga, it's my dad who matters now that I finally got him to sit down and watch it.
Slightly aroused.

hunter limbo normally nothing but bait threads that evolves in to the same shit but we fall for it every time.
Well I mean the chimera ant arc obviously being used to hype DC up so most likely
best ability user

Don't joke about this.

probably, the first chimera ant queen was so weak she got fucked up and thrown into the ocean by something from the dark continent, she's only lucky she arrived onshore of the ngl and didn't get waved back to the dc

I still think about what the fuck hurt her but I don't know if we'll ever get clarification on that

Togashi doesn't even remember that part anymore.

So, was that actually Dark Aura that Netero had or was it just an exaggeration of Fear and Malice creeping through him?

No. Nothing will ever be more powerful, just more dangerous. Meruem is the mix of calamities and humans.

He's literally an ant.

It certainly wasn't Pariston's preliminary expedition.
The dozen or so hunters who dropped off the map did not go to the DC and bring back the chimera ant queen.
The queen ending up in the absolute perfect place to get a healthy colony going undisturbed was pure coincidence, goy.

It's like when Wing projected killing intent onto Gon and Killua when they were learning nen

So if they just nuked mereum and won, why not nuke the dc?

Now that last thread is fucking dead I'll reiterate my question. What do you think of the combat Viability of Basho's nen abiilty.

The story gets on Gon's case (rightfully) about how J-janken is way too unwieldy as a fighting move and more suited for finishers. But 'The wandering Poet' required Basho to write onto a piece of paper and that's definitely not something you can do at the drop of the hat. We've seen he has good combat reflexes but man do I hope he's not the first to die of Kurapika's group.

>exaggeration of Fear and Malice creeping through him
Yep.

Chimera Ants are not calamities.

Oh, that makes sense then. I completely forgot that you can throw out killing intent just by using Nen. Imagine feeling that shit by Netero.

He smells of redshirt from 10km away. I like him, though.

I'm sure his moveset will improve.

I'm dying to see Hanzo's abilities

Yes.
Meruem gained sentience and humanity. The calamities do not have that luxury from what we've seen so far.

Most of it is uncharted and unexplored, and more or less implied to be beyond what humans could do.

guys what if togashi forgot that HxH existed and is just playing Dragons Quest right now?

It was meant to represent the malice that humans are capable of. It managed to scare shitless Meruem even if he couldn't be hurt by Netero, the point was that even if humans might have limits in combat strenght they're capable of horrible trickery.

The goal is to bring back valuable resources, not scorch the earth.
Trying to use nukes against a high tech city's defense system like Brion also sounds like a very bad idea.

Then we must partake of a quest to drag him back to the world of deadlines and responsibilites.

>said to be one of the strongest nen user
>"intelligent"
>enhancer
>bases his nen around emission and manipulation which are 80% and 60% efficient
>already admits he was below half his peak power

so was netero just a souped up kastro?

does anyone remember that theory that Pariston and sheila are the same person

I guess both the quote "Infinite potential for humans" in the anime and "Malice" in the manga make a lot of sense here.

Yeah, they are just one on the many creatures that inhabit the DC.

It's not stated anywhere but it's pretty safe to assume Netero could infuse enhancement in the buddha by praying and thus being unable to move as a restriction.

Oh boy, just what we needed.

or maybe she got some help from a certain high ranked nasty person

...

>ging turned pariston into a girl on greed island
>pariston, or rather sheila, is the S in Greed Island

>It's not stated anywhere but it's pretty safe to assume Netero could infuse enhancement in the buddha by praying and thus being unable to move as a restriction.

So you can pretty much say any user with fucking enhancement can be 100% at any other category because they can just "Enhance" it which is retarded

The standing thing would just be your typical nen restriction. Well not like it mattered in his fight because he was slower that mereum either way and only his arms were fast enough to put up a fight

>I'm sure his moveset will improve.
I just hope Togashi lets him do more than burn things. If the wording is accurate, he can do virtually anything within reason so long as his Haikus are well written.

>I like him, though.
I like him too but I'm honestly expecting him and Izunavi to job out. Hanzo is 50/50 only because I wouldn't put it past Togashi to kill him off to show how strong a nen beast/guard is.

>>bases his nen around emission and manipulation which are 80% and 60% efficient
Remember that the harsher the conditions the more you can mitigate your lack of nen category aptitude. Netero used enhancement or natural talent to up his physical speed to beyond human standards. He tied his Constructs motions to that so it's very rudimentary manipulation. Emissions lets him put his aura in different places which is key for stuff like Zero hand.

And he is intelligent because being able to manipulate 100 hands one after another over the course of seconds takes massive mental effort.

Unlike Kastro; Netero made up for his lack of affinity with manipulation/emissions by properly restricting himself and being a monster in general. Kastro wasn't wrong per se, but he lacked the training and grit to make his clones work. For someone of his level sticking to what you know would have been better.

what its a legit theory people have

that would be funny and interesting

He literally transcended his limits, used every categories except specialization for his nen. The guy was already a monster before his "training" which isn't a training but gratitude shown towards his God, more a spiritual journey that made him reach another universe.
Even Old Netero won't ever be surpassed by a human

>PARISTON IS FEMALE DEAL WITH IT
>NO HE'S MALE
You want another Pitou on our hands? If Togashi did that, fine and well. It's the faggots here that would make a fuss and shitstorm over it.

>So you can pretty much say any user with fucking enhancement can be 100% at any other category because they can just "Enhance" it which is retarded
First off Netero was a genius, second the manipulation of the Buddha is tied to is motion as he isn't able to move the thing just with is will, reflecting that manipulation is not is primary type. If there was a manipulator of similar level to Netero I'm pretty sure he would came up with some other thing instead of creating a fuck huge thing that couldn't really hit hard.

There was no shitstorm over Kite being male and female though.

Not him but, Meruem essentially transcended evolution on a basic level but Netero transcended beyond that in Spiritual?

his ability has incredible utility, it doesn't need to be super effective in combat

Meruem died a child and a beginner at nen, god knows what hatsu he could've came up with given enough time.

How do you think the expedition team would react if the first thing they saw was that giant horrifying bug creature that was eating an DC elephant?

>tfw this is end game killua in the future

Scientific curiosity.

He had a hatsu.

I'm pretty sure at one point the focus will shift on the various groups and half of the people will be already rekt Ponzu style

I don't think calamities are really built around being "powerful", from the two calamities we've seen they're more like something from the SCP series. The two which we have any clue as to how they function are Zobae and Ai. Zobae is disease with physics-breaking capabilities where the immortal guy could sustain himself indefinitely by self-cannibalism, and Ai is probably the same thing as nanika, which is a reality-warping wish granter that's incredibly dangerous but in a way that can't really be quantified as "strength". I think many of the other calamities will be the same way, not strong enemies, more like incredibly dangerous anomalies.

He'll be dead way before.

Now I have to see what Don looks like.

I thought it was literally just a parasite?

I want to see this guy in a fight more than any other character in the manga...

>why don't they just nuke the rainforests

Meruem didn't transcend evolution, he was just a product of it. The thing that made all the ants so incredibly powerful compared to humans were biology. You can lift weights with absolutely perfect diet and schedule while blasting yourself with steroids, but a sedentary gorilla is still going to overpower and humiliate you, there's only so much you can change without reincarnating into another lifeform.

Do you think that if shit really hits the fan someone will start using nukes?

This isn't Dr Strangelove user.

Or he became a specialist after autisticly punching for decades.

I'd like to know his extended family tree since being an enhancer is an anomaly given the information we know atm.

>just nuke literally 95% of the globe
>which is also filled with all kinds of undiscovered godlike beings capable of warping reality

Will Maha ever be important? He has only had a physical appearance in Yorkshin.

I'm not saying "just nuke everything" but since we know those thing exist and are pretty easy to acquire I expect someone to at least try to use them in a pinch even if they won't work for whatever reason.

Why introduce an ancient relic like him if he's not going to be important?

Maybe he'll get some focus if it turns out Zzigg is out there or something.

I don't think getting your hands on a nuclear weapon is that easy

The info about the dark continent might leak out into the general public and then there will be a big push for them to just nuke everything in the dark continent since they are so dangerous.

Since when do americans exist in the HxH world?

The nuke Netero used was shit tier and used by third worlders, I expect Kakin to be best Korea tier in weapon admassing.

He was never introduced as important. Had a cameo in Yorkshin and was said to be the same age and have quarrels with Netero when they were young, also that Netero was the only guy who fought Zeno's granddad and still is alive (meaning that Netero is very very old)

Hanzo will job against a Phantom and you know it.

nanika is from the dark continent, do you really think anyone will think it's a good idea to nuke a landmass probably bigger than eurasia filled with things of a similar nature?

>also that Netero was the only guy who fought Zeno's granddad and still is alive
Well isn't that a shining commendation?

>implying
If Hanzo dies it will be a glorious death protecting best prince (female)

depends on if they mean that he's the only one who didn't die of old age or if he's the only one who wasn't killed by maha

Maha got retconned in being Zeno's grandpa. Not that this really changes anything.

fuck off this is not muv luv

I'd shit myself if he manages to outlast any of the bodyguards, he just reeks of fodder to me.

>implying we will ever get to the dark continent
>implying that IF we do, the calamities will not have been forgotten already, replaced by a more human and already known opponent

The keyword here is job. Jobbing is not glorifying.

>implying anything can survive a nuke
you underestimate our limitless potential for malice

>retconned
More like the databook is noncanon shit written by some literally who

As long as we continue to use nuclear weapons, another Gojira will be born.

I don't think the calamities will be antagonists as much as hazards and mysteries and that shit. And I was under the idea that the calamities weren't really a certain class of being as much as they were just the five things that put a definitive end to the DC expeditions by being extraordinarily dangerous.
>nuke hurtles down towards a group of Ai's
>they recognize it as a threat and reverse the trajectory
>nukes mankind to death

great idea

also zobae makes you immortal

The problem with that is that the DC for the most part doesn't interact with the human world. So any nuke or rose used will be on the DC side of the ocean which means that humans will have fewer areas they can enter from the more nukes they detonate. This could make any future expedition impossible since fallout doesn't dissipate for years and the fewer "safe" landing points there are the less likely any attempt is going to succeed.

Not to mention the possibility that something from the DC will get tired of their shit and just stomp humans down.

Togashi 100 % doesn't give a shit about Fan popularity i hope

He couldn't even kill Hisoka.

Doubt it was because of popularity. If it was he wouldn't have made him get utterly blown the fuck out

> The biggest the threat in the DC are humans
I would be extraordinarily pissed if Togashi attempts to hamfist the tired ass 'humans are the worst' narrative for a second time

Togashi is know for making good shit on manga,he is not your average manga author, he will do his shit and it will be fabulous.

It'll probably be some kind of Heart of Darkness narrative

This. I fucking love him even with his asspulls. But goddamit why you have to take so many hiatuses? Being a fan of this and Berserk is truly suffering.
