McCain is a classic RINO, he would have been much worse than Bush 43; at the end of his inevitable 4 year stint, I would guess that Republicans would have been the minority in both houses and this would have lead to an absolute shitshow in the next Presidential election, with only insiders with enormous funding daring to run as a Republican.

i didn't vote for mccain or romney, i wrote in ron paul in 2008 and 2012.
in hindsight i don't really regret it even though i hated obama. mccain and romney were such shit. they would have just fucked up the brand of the right and made it that much harder for us to squeak in a non-establishment candidate.
our entire presidential system since 1988 has been pretty terrible. i give reagan a pass for at least fostering some national pride and economic success, but everything since bush 1 is a nightmare lineup of anti-american leaders. a real disgrace.
