Just look at the effort that has gone into all that frontage.

Huh. Heroes' Square didn't change that much.
The park function got abolished before the war.

Peace and prosperity. It can make wonders.

...

...

...

>this culture was taken from Americans
Now we sit here with a delaying civilization, 56% (that are honestly quite accurate), and no hope for the future. Its enough to make a man very, very tired.

The National Archives Building really hurts.
Story from my teacher who often has work there:
>1956
>Archives got shot by a tank, workers there got instantly killed, hellfire inside
>Fireman arrive
>They try to put out the fire
>They can't, because the ruskies are having "fun": Going on and off the fire hose with their tank
Also, some of the older papers still have human remains on them form WWII/1956.

Anyway, heres a picture I took of the New York skyline.

Amazing

Fuck me, idk why it did that

...

...

How great the US must have been back then.

What's that white skyscraper on the left?

>Leaving the ruined church tower only as a war memento
I hate this so fucking much. No one wants to remember a war that ruined everything.

...

Been there twice. Utterly disgusting.

Pic from September.

...

Manhattan is my favorite place, the mass amount of Art Deco making foaming in my mouth.

>Dalia Elyakim, Israel

What the fuck happened to the US?
Now it's mostly degenerates and niggers.

Why not rebuild it?

Check out the scribbled out wording.

...

>Islamistischen
Should I laugh or cry?
Have some bleeding antifa

...

Nobody have the will or money to restore the old state. Budapest was pretty badly hit by American bombing, and the third longest city siege (after Stalingrad) by the soviets and Germans left the city in ruins. Under soviet occupation, the priority was to rebuild the bridges and clean up the mess.

there is a hungarian churchposter on Sup Forums, are you him

>Nobody have the will
I don't believe you.

the second pic does not look that bad reminds me of some old buildings here

Vielen danke, Dettmar

It is sadly historically accurate. Soviets don't like nice things, they reminds them to the tsar n' shit. Also, they don't like MG and sniper nests in street crossings.

Today, I think it is more likely money problem.

Problem is: That wing wasn't damaged in WWII, but it still got fucked up by the commies for the lolz.

Building a building is expensive already without paying for statues and decoration with the cheapest blueprint.
Functional building costs 100 euros, statues and decoration costs addition 400 euros and you have 10 euros to build the building so you have 90 euros debt already.Do you want the statues and decoration then?

>That wing wasn't damaged in WWII, but it still got fucked up by the commies for the lolz
yeah they did the same here and after the big earth quake in 77 got a excuse to tear down a few more
back to the point sure it does not look as good as the first but at least its not a total abortion

Such architecture can only be afforded in a great Empire.
Same problem we have in Vienna. We can preserve what is already there but we can't afford to expand it.
Also you are right, leftists have this fixation on destroying everything that is beautiful.
The commie city gov of Vienna tries for a long time to place an ugly cube building right in the historical city centre of Vienna, even though the public opposes it and the UNESCO threatens that they'll remove Vienna from their list of cultural heritage sites.

That's fucking criminal.

i think you underestimate the cost of some of these modern abortions unless you are talking of soviet style concrete shitboxes

>commie city gov of Vienna tries for a long time to place an ugly cube building right in the historical city centre of Vienna

Every time I think about that I get mad as hell! That fat drunkard fuck in city hall ... those corrupt marxist Green bobo swine ... what did old Lueger say again about the lamp posts at the Ringstraße? All you would need is a good length of rope and some determination...

The old frontage of the Corvin Áruház is still recoverable but the windows was walled, and everything under the cover is in really bad shape.

The good news is the restoration is started, but on the smallest possible budget.

Is it the same building , or was the old one demolished and new one built ? If it's the same building , why was it changed? Same for all pictures

Well, at least Vienna don't want to build glass and steel skyscrapers (I really hope the plans will be scrapped). Sadly some (((financial group))) thinks it is a fucking good idea.

Glad seeing that the Castle District receives some much needed attention.

The tudor gothic one is the same, but the commies dumbed down the facade, because it was too fancy.
The classicist one on the right was a Jesuit academy. It got damaged in WWII, and was sold to the Hilton Hotels in the 70s. The guys from Hilton asked the party leader about good locations in Budapest and he simply pointed at the former jesuit school saying "there's a good plot over there"
Most of the building got demolished (except for the western facade), and this abomination was built.

Mostly because Victor the Great want to move his office into the Sandor Palace.

I have mixed feelings about this.
The Royal Guards' Headquarters, Stöckl staircase and the Royal Riding Hall is being rebuilt, but they also erected this abomination.
Which means this won't be a 100% reconstruction.

Which is a big problem, because at this rate they are going to fuck up Szt. György square with modern glass shits.
The gray buildings are not standing anymore on pic related. They are empty plots right now. And something will be built there.

...

If it means the rejuvenation of the whole district,
where's the harm in that?

fuck sake

Just the usual: corruption and build quality.

They still don't know what to do with the remains of the former building of the Ministry of Defense. No one wants to rebuild the lost levels and the dome. (pic related)

And don't forget they demolished a piece of old castle wall for the sake of a garage.

...

There are no alternatives.

Also, it's unlikely that the former Military High Command (4) will be rebuilt, since the commies have found the ruins of a medieval church under it (we're knee deep in ruins, but at least they are medieval. yaaay.)
Joseph Archduke's palace (7) is also unlikely to be rebuilt. But there are plans to rebuild the the Teleki Palace (which was older, but more modest that than the Archduke's palace)
The Royal Stable (6) also won't be rebuilt at this rate.
See my previously posted picture ( )

brutalism/brutalist architecture is beautiful. Here's an example of brutalist architecture from a borough of London called Croydon. Brutalist architecture is also very common where I live which is Bromley.

forgot pic

We got too comfortable in our own skin

>old castle wall
You mean fake memedieval commie reconstruction walls

At least we know these buildings won't collapse after a few days of fire...

Brutalism rhymes perfectly with autism.
This can't be a coincidence.

...

ive applied for an architecture course for next year, hoping to end up doing a masters in landscape architecture. wish me luck

territories from the former Hapsburg empire have some of the best architecture the world

I can see why a spearchucker from Croydon would enjoy that. It's an ugly, lazy, rootless hybrid of shit, like you.

Good luck!

...

[JG Ballard intensifies]

Well, it is true. Look at this pic. This was a tram stop in Zugliget. I repeat. A simple tram stop.

holy shit.

The fuck did have to sperg out for a dead mustache and lose everything?

After 1686 (II. Siege and recapture of Buda, kicking out the Türks and their foot-lickers from the Castle Hill) the Hungarian crown was given to the Habsburg. So, our kings was chosen from the dynasty. Fast forward few century: The dead mustache was our crown prince too...

We all know that was just the casus belli. War was inevitable.

yes, he was but that isn't a good enough reason to go to war with france and russia.

war wasn't inevitable, Wilhelm ii was an autist that drove away most of Europe. If Germany would have resisted his dumb ideas for foreign relations then a war similar to WW1 wouldn't have happened or England would have been on the german side

it does have some larger buildings but they're all on the danube away from the centre.

>mfw I love the new Erzsébet bridge but miss the old too

Strange thats for sure, but the new one is really aesthetic with its simplicity, one od the few times commies did something right.
But yeah the old one is simply beautiful, its actually more epic than the Chain Bridge.

Our abomination is planned to have 30+ floors. It is a smurf in the world of skyscrapers but considered fucking tall in our country.

I think the skyscraper looks cool at least, it does have a unique design, but putting it on Buda may not be the best idea.

Budapest is built mostly horizontally. We will meet with the same problems like New York in the early 1900s. For example : tall buildings need special fire fighter units. We don't have wide streets for heavy ladder engines. Just because the MOL megalomania, would the Hungarian tax payers buy special one-of-a-kind ladders?

Once upon a time in Budapest.....it took me 7 days before I could find a single nigger.

Now it takes me 7 minutes.

Once upon a time, was a better time.

sad because it's true.
The first niggers were brought in by the commies in the 1970s as students.
Now they are mostly students, former students or illegals who'll be smuggled to the West.
Back in WWII an American pilot was lynched by the locals, because they've never seen a nigger before and they've thought the shitskin was a demon.
Once upon a time, it was indeed a better time.

The war was happening whether or not mustacheman was in charge

Hey, contemporary Bp is not half bad, save for those Soviet style brutalist shit and residential areas like Gazdagrét. Downtown is considered beautiful by many experts, and I'm not talking about (((experts))).

feel you.. fucking russian subhumans

>this
>beautiful
Gott strafe England!

Had one too many, Eustace?

Fuck off back to 9fag, toothpaste

>brutalism/brutalist architecture is beautiful.
