A world without violence is just a world not worth fighting for. The distinction you need to make is whether you are violent towards your own tribe--that is, a traitor--or whether you are violent because of your passion to protect your tribe.

Well I'm obviously talking about westerners inside their own societies. The European "unity" we have today is a very very recent thing. Warring against the neighboring tribes for resources is natural in historical context, its about survival. The reason shit was so bloody was exactly because people worked together attacking/defending resources, making areas harder to conquer, etc.
The reason Russia is so large is because they did not work together, so it was relatively easy to conquer such a large area.

I don't know much about the Irish, so no comment on that. Finns "antisocial" culture has nothing to do with what I'm talking about either. Our culture evolved to being "antisocial" because there never was any time for socializing. It's quite easy for people in warm climates to take it easy, just throw some seeds in the ground and watch them grow. Finns did not have that luxury.
