On one hand, both ovas have been extremely boring in terms of space action, but it has a lot of infodrop/exposition going on, and I don't mind it as fanservice itself.
Also, he has always been pretty obvious about his focus being the girls. Look at all the canon onsen djs, they all revolve around marrying, fucking, having babies, how to solve the harems, etc. Zero action, zero space, zero sci-fi.
But it's ok, not as bad as tenchi muyo ai imo, it has one or two lines that make you go

And I'm not sure I got it right, are they going to write Minaho in the harem as another marriage partner as ova4.1 implied at the end (by minaho herself) or will Minaho become tenchi's new surrogate mother as implied in 4.2 (but this time by the others).

I guess I'm in the minority here in that I enjoyed the "slower" SoL and political aspects of the franchise more than the space battle stuff.

Same. Since Tenchi's awakening in OAV3, there's no threat to him ass far as armed confrontations go anymore, so I enjoy the "interpersonal challenges" stuff. That being said, I'd like to have some good ol' lighthawk wings action again, but I'd rather see and expect this in a sequel to Isekai, since Kenshi's one time summon was still more or less a fluke and he has potential to grow.

I like it too, but the two ovas could have been compressed in half from what the have shown us.
It's not like they need to go battle again, tenchi is god now and aware of it, so I don't think they can go beyond that (something greater than him? but that would be gurren lagann tier).
But having Minaho come to earth, the Tennyo suprise, and all that happened already in 3+, so imo this sort of bridge between 3 and 3 extra could have been done in an ova, then explore Minaho POST wedding (Noboyuki-Rea's). So far with Minaho shown more assertive than she was in the 3+1 ova, and the whole talk about Tenchi and the Harem, and the Masaki extended family, having at some point leaving for space because of the nature of the royal family, it's been good, but not paced well enough imo.

Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari was already such a fucking tease of post Ryo Ohki canon happenings, but we got nothing other than "well, the harem still exists as it was left and Noboyuki and Rea had a kid".

I want to know their life post Rea's wedding, maybe parallel to Isekai, or the Onsen djs animated. I feel blue balled right now.

An Isekai sequel would be nice.

And it was no big deal, now the action falls upon Seina, Kenshi, and other Masakis. Ryo Ohki turned into muh bolitics, and the ova canon spin offs are the action centric ones.

You guys have shit taste, Tenchi Ova was pure trash after OVA 2. Universe is what Tenchi should have been, space adventures with only the original cast.

It amazes me how Kajishima created such in depth characters like Ryoko and treats them like background props.

Well, you shouldn't recognize the three girls that came from Airi's ship, unless you were eagle-eyed during Tenchi's mom's funeral.
The hot older lady Tenchi visits and talks about Seina with is Kiriko's mom.
And the delicious brown girl with Airi and Tennyo is Mihoshi's Great-Aunt. You've seen her before in OVA 3 and GXP, but she had a disguise on that makes her look old, like Yosho.

Hmm, the subs I saw were a bit wonky in this part. What I think it's supposed to say is that Tenchi's Dad's actual appearance is in his twenties, followed by Tenchi saying that this makes sense, considering how things are with his grand dad.
