What are some preconceptions you had about JoJo before watching it.
>Thought Jonathan an Jotaro were the same character and that the JJBA was just Stardust Crusaders, a gang of good guys that hunted evil-doers and not the generational tale that it was

The whole thing was going to be about Vampires.
>Believed Kakyoin was a bad guy just from the Rero rero scene
>Thought Jotaro was a goody two shoes that always did what was right
I thought Stone Ocean was going to be about diving in the Pacific for a gem.
I thought Caesar was going to be Dio's son and him and Joseph would team up to fight for the greater good.
I thought that one pic of DIO saving Giorno was real and that they were going to team up to kick some ass.
>thought that stands were like clans/groups
>thought that the stand itself was the leader of the clan
I don't know why I thought this, to be honest.
Pre-2010ish when I got into the series I used to think the order was 3 > 1 > 2 > 5
I didn't even know part 4 existed until way later.
I used to think Dio Brando was a rip off of Sakuya Izayoi
>Thought this series would have a different type of surreal feel to it.
>Thought Star Platinum was going to be Jotaro's Mentor, like Zeppeli and Lisa Lisa, had no idea what stands were then.
>I used to think Dio Brando was a rip off of Sakuya Izayoi
Why
>almost didn't watch part 3 because 'wtf they got rid of hamon and they entirely changed the series'
Has anyone actually pulled 5 star Caesar in Diamond Records? I'm still hoping for him ;_;
I thought part 3 was part 1
I thought the drawing was going to be trash
Because Sakuya is a Dio rip-off and he didn't know that EoSD just references JoJo.
I thought that Kakyoin and Polnareff were going to start off good then become evil and it turned out to be the other way around.
Thought Holly was going to be the main character of the next part instead of Jotaro.
I thought the main character was a mysterious circus girl who runs away at the end of the first chapter, meets a nice French boy and they go on adventures together. That's the plot of Nadia.
I had only watched the OVA, so I had no idea how insanely large Part 3's adventure actually was.
none, because I read the fucking manga years ago.
Which one was it?
>There was a hole in Gappy's shoe
>Gappy's new shoe after he got rid of his old ones from the old lady weren't waterproof
>It is implied that the baby touched Gappy's skin after he gave up
>The baby had sharp talon-like grip and pierced the shoe
>Zombies can just control the stream of blood and it eventually touched Gappy's skin
>Araki forgot
>Other?
either the new kicks arent Waterproof or its implied the baby touched himafter he gave up
Baby Stand
I used to belive that the stardust crusader where travelling in time and trying to stop dio from changing the past or some shit,
I had this idea mainly from watching the 3 opening before actually wacthing the anime.
I thought that rohan killed josuke's grandpa
It's pretty obvious that Gappy could get away from the lady, but was bound to get infected by the baby since he was stuck and wouldn't kill it.
It doesn't matter if it doesn't show the blood touching him directly. He 'lost' completely.
>implied that the baby touched Gappy's skin after he gave up.
That's the one and it's pretty obvious.
But I guess Araki needs to spoonfeed everything for his audience.
>Look nobody said Holly Kujo was a good mom
>I let my son walk all over me, more than I have to, he's still breaking curfew
>I had idiot policemen who liked to jail my son, so I got my daddy on them, and they never came back to the station
Why do people think Josuke is going to die? I don't understand their reasoning.
Jo dai
This. I was so sure Caeser was Dio's son.
>Jojo: jo go to hell and jo die
Heres the story of my brain fucking over steel ball run before I read it
>Thought the whole horse race deal was going to be in a stadium, with lanes, like an average race between jockeys
And even before that
>Thought the title of Steel Ball Run meant the entire part was based around escaping a labyrinth with a giant steel sphere chasing the protagonist
>Also thought of a scenario more involving the sea for Stone Ocean, especially because of Diver Down
Im no longer retarded anymore
Thought that part 6 would end with Dio somehow being revived and Jolyne would have to team up with Jotaro to defeat Dio and Pucci through shenanigans,

I thought that Part 6 was going to be good.

So I just finished SBR and started on JJL. Only thing is that I never actually read anything before that. I watched the part 1 anime with a friend but I didn't really like it, and he recommended reading the manga and told me the universe resets at 7 so I wouldn't have any problems not knowing what's going on.
So my question is, should I read 1-6 after I finish JJL? I've absorbed a lot of info via cultural osmosis already so I'm just wondering if it's even worth bothering with.
It gave me the illusion the fandom was straight.
>Skipping JoJo parts
What are you, retarded?
Part 1 is kind of an outlier, so even if you didn't like it it's worth giving the other parts a try.
Wait wait hold the fuck up.
Are you telling me you skipped ahead to part 7 just because the universe resets?
Yes read all the parts, this should be common sense
read it in the order it was published you silly
Here's your BIG FAT (You).
It's (You) and (You)r friends fault.
I skipped to 7 because he told me it was the best part and it wouldn't matter if I started there.
For what it's worth I really liked SBR and am enjoying Gappy's antics so far
>7 best part
completely subjective but skipping parts is literally gutter trash tier.
glad youre enjoying SBR though
>skipping parts
Stop.
Nigga what is wrong with you and your friend
Go back to Part 1 you fucking mongoloid
Skipping parts is frowned upon.
Go back to part 1.
In case you needed anyone else to tell you're a retard, you're a retard. Pic related, it's what you should do after you finish reading everything in the proper fucking order
Not him but what, exactly, is wrong with skipping parts? I haven't done it but there's not much reason not to do so. Parts 1-2 are different in story structure and plot elements from all the others. Parts 2-6 (I only speak of those because I haven't read 7 and 8) are only loosely connected to each other plot wise.
There's characters from previous parts but it's easy to understand who they are from the story itself. Maybe you wouldn't understand why Jotaro can stop time in 4 if you'd only heard of Star Platinum as a straight punchghost or what the fuck the Speedwagon foundation is if you didn't watch at least 2, any other examples?
...
I don't understand.
Played ASB, at the time I had only read up to part 3.
>Thought Anasui was a girl
>Thought Buccelati was a girl
>Thought Narancia was DEFINITELY a girl
>Thought Koichi was an annoying faggot
>Thought Mista was from Avatar: The Last Airbender
It can be pretty bad, honestly, the series does do/say a lot of things assuming you've already seen the previous parts. Even the jump from part 1-2 sucks if you never read/watched PB. Instantly you are supposed to recognize Speedwagon, Straits, ripple, vampires, etc. and if you don't it's pretty fucking confusing.
Here's your (You)
>whats wrong with skipping good stories and seeing good characters and fights the author made for people to enjoy
>if they arent important in the next part, they dont matter!
die
I saw Diego Brando's name somewhere and thought that Dio would have a direct line of descendants through the ages just like Johnathan.
Have someone who hasn't heard of Jojo look at pages of the Pillar Men and see if they don't think it's some weird gay series
>JoJo
>not a weird gay series
I thought Diego Brando was a DIO fanboy and that SBR took place in the future.
JoJo IS a weird gay series, user.
Ripple in part 3
Only 2 and 5
I've read up to 8 now but going into the anime, I did not expect vampires.
>ive read up to 8
>but did not expect vampires
I watched the anime first
would you have closed the door on the baby, Sup Forums?
Post best/worst victims of direct translation
I wonder if this is a common misconception, and if it served to inspire/influence Parr 5's setting and MC
No. i cant snuff out a baby's life because an rock amputee wants me dead
Yes.
But only if someone could film it for later...research purposes.
Cioccolatta please go.
I thought the way stands worked was by literally making a pose/stand to summon them.
I saw all these screenshots of the jojos making goofy poses and thought they had to make them to summon a stand.
Basically, I thought they were called stands because you had to do a certain stand to use them.
Also, I thought joseph got turned into a cyborg and that was the reason he was in crusaders, which I thought took place a lot longer after part 2. I saw that scene where his fake finger gets cut off that made me think this.
I looked at Jotaro's wiki page and assumed that parts 3, 4, and 6 happened consecutively because he didn't appear to age, and I didn't think anyone other than a teenager would dress like this
So why was Pucci able to use whitesnake even though he said he would have to sacrifice his stand after fusing with the baby?
Sacrificing the stand comes after reaching a certain point of gravity, not after baby molding
Was Diavolo smart?
maybe he took the whitesnake disc out of his own head to save for later or some shit, i dont know its been a while
Oh I must have misread it so, I thought he had to give up whitesnake right away.
Nah its fine, some of the heaven plan is easy to look over since its Literally the most ridiculous thing to grace the series
The logistics of running such a large gang without a single member knowing who you are or how to even go about looking for you must be pretty ridiculous.
He's not a genius but he was pretty smart.
Yeah. That baby's body got fucked up anyways so it's best to put it out of its misery.
Jojo was actually exactly what I hoped it would be, it was surreal seeing something completely live up to your expectations so perfectly.
>men so hyper masculine they blow right through homoerotic and back into manly
>hammy over the top characters
>battles all about strategic mind games that are ridiculous BS when you think about it but incredibly exciting in the moment
>it knows its stupid fun but takes itself seriously enough to not feel like its trying to be "Xd so randum"
It still kills me inside that I'd been planning to read it since like 2010 but passed because I thought it wouldn't live up to my imagination, now I'm just a filthy anime bandwagoner.
I did the same thing and I read all the other parts after finishing part 7.
Where is the problem?
This.

I thought Weza was a bad guy when I first saw him, probably because of the horns.
Well, if someone wants to skip, I'm not gonna tell them they absolutely can't, just like reading the colored scans and not reading the manga for the parts they've watched the anime for after getting caught up, it's their choice, but I do believe they'll be experiencing a weaker version of Jojo.
The stories don't intertwine much, if at all during the series. But recurring themes and parallels between characters are constant, and they, at least to me, enhance the experience a lot. For example, I wouldn't like Giorno nearly as much as I do if it weren't for his numerous callbacks and parallels between him and his two papas.
Same goes for Johnny, Diego, Kira and Josefumi, all reference characters from previous parts and bring something new to the story at the same time.
>unzips voice
Since i 1st saw Some vento stuff being sold
I thought it was a mafia shojo kind of thing
Only now did I understand that the To Be Continued meme came from JoJo. I was fucking amazed.
Also, thought that Dio and Jonathan will be both protags, not protagonist and antagonist.
Thought part 2 was a prequel to the original part 3 and it explained Joseph and Ceaser (Who I thought was Dio)'s backstories and why they hated each other.
youtube.com
That DIO was hot as fuck
>Also, I thought joseph got turned into a cyborg
Technically he is, anyone with a robotic body-part counts.
