I did watch 0079.
Zeta is offensively bad and worse than the original in every way.

Hell no.
but the 0079 movies are a masterpiece,
the show? not even close to zeta.
Zeta is perfection.
If you watched ideon and gundam, zeta is the conclusion of what tomino was working on making throughout his total work career. It's the combination and his end. everything after zeta sucked.
After you watched ideon you really see that it was a prototype of zeta, even kitty cat was four.

No, both are GREAT but 0079 is better.

Completed and fapped to Haman 2 times.

that color scheme

What happened to shading in anime?

zeta is good

>not watching Thunderbolt

But the ost, thats what keeps me thinking of zeta. that suck with me after all these years.
It's just god like, the best anime ost ever made.

I thought Zeta suffered from being way too episodic for most of the series- even more so than the first half of 0079. There are like fifteen episodes in a row where Yazan shows up and kicks someone around, then ends up retreating because reinforcements showed up. There needed to be at least one villain like Ramba Ral- someone who made a strong impression, but was ultimately defeated instead of coming back every episode. As it stands, both the AEUG and the Titans looked completely incompetent compared to the leads from 0079.

The openings are GOAT.
Escape, Zeta activates and Conclusion are some of my favourite ost of all times.

yazan was fucking one of the best characters in any gundam. he's the best old type in U.C. He was also nothing like ramal, he didn't care about loyalty.

Also what are you talking about yazan completely owned kamile every time they fought. he was just out numbered and had to deal with complete noobs. he was a legend in the one year war.

there was no way zeta was episodic as the 0079 tv show which aged horribly. zeta had the character drama from ideon. ideon like gundam suffered horribly though, I can't say the first 20-25 eps are good. tomino changed out of nowhere, like he said fuck you to sunrise once it failed. then he made it deep.

I'm not saying that he needed to ACT like Ral, just walk the walk or fuck off to advance the development of the cast. And while Yazan was obviously a big-shot, his inability to decisively defeat a single named character until the rushed finale made him look weak. He should have killed Katz like ten episodes before it actually happened (for several reasons).

Or Jerid. Jerid had no fucking reason to last as long as he did.

That said, I still really liked Zeta for the atmosphere and the mech designs. And I just remembered that I still need to watch ZZ Gundam.

this one is what iv'e been waking up too basically every morning for a while.

I did, and I love it.

Sorry, I don't watch shows with female protagonists.

Thunderbolt is easily the best Gundam anything since, I don't know, Turn A or so. But it's not a show if that's what people are looking for.

Jerid was great, it all started from Jerid.
I feel like tomino was stating something about war and how easy it starts. Plus holy shit he suffered.
don't bash Jerid he had a place.

> zeta is the conclusion of what tomino was working on making throughout his total work career.
What the fuck? Tomino doesn't even like Zeta

um... what.
I think you mean v gundam dude and honestly that show is mad good in its own way.
Zeta was the star wars of japan.
It made him popular and it was what made him the most money and made gundam shine.

>even kitty cat was four
even lalah was kitty cat

About haman, I don't think I ever saw a character with that hair style and its really appealing.

Zeta is alright. Poor pacing in the second half ruined what could have been a really great show. The Rosamia arc doesn't exist.

You telling me you didn't like Scirocco?

>zeta had the character drama from ideon
Explain further.

lalah was a bit different if you ask me. mostly because it was more about char being fucked up. It was more of a pure hatred that continued with char and amuro, somewhere in their minds it never went away till you find out why in CCA.

YT- To tell the truth, as a creator of Gundam I think I should not have ake the sequel to Gundam. I, however, think as a producer it's a nice decision for me to have made Z Gundam. Gundam 2, or Z, was so dark. I directed Z in order to tell "Hey, watch my new Gundam, youngsters. Why are you not so lively like them in Z ?" But Z resulted in Gundam getting more popular. I do not like Z but it made a modest economic success. It resulted that various Gundam shows appeared directed without me. As a result of my decision to make a sequel to First Gundam, Gundam Saga has proceeded over 20 years. At the same time, I feel I should have finished Gundam story in the first series.

isn't thunderbolt getting it's own show now?

I liked Jerid enough, but I felt like he was in a weird sort of limbo where he had both too much screen time, and not enough. He stopped being relevant as a rival for Kamille around the halfway point when the latter stopped even caring that Jerid existed. Even when Jerid killed Four, Kamille ended up getting more mad about the pointlessness of the war and how it was ruining people's lives than at Jerid for doing it.

Jerid himself should have had more screen time and development to push him as a sort of second protagonist from the Titans' perspective, which seemed to be where they were going in the beginning of the series, but his appearances dropped off quickly and he only occasionally showed up to embarrass himself every once in a while later. It felt like a waste of potential and again, they should have killed him off to advance the AEUG characters' development if they weren't going to do anything more interesting with him.

You just don't have any idea what you are talking about, right?

ideon was FUCKED dude.
I can't even begin to explain it.
It turned out to be the 2001 a space odyssey of japan.
seriously one of my favorite characters

It's.... a different kind of beast.

Scirocco was a great villain. I'm just saying the minor antagonists needed work.

Explain how Zeta's character drama was more similar to that of Ideon more than to that any other Tomino show or vice versa.

Jerid was actually a point in how much kamile matured and how jerid was the opposite.

I somehow forgot about this one, It's one of my favourites.
I heard somewhere that Tomino was suffering through a bad case of depression when making zeta.So the show brings some bad memories.

If you watched both you can see the same odd tone and style in how the characters acted.

Already did

Like in all Tomino shows?

Not him, but Argama and Solo Ship are at least more claustrophobic than White Base/Zola/Upper Earth/etc.

>dat feel I'll take this OP any day for Zeta over the original one
youtube.com/watch?v=vVp_jCwhFB0

from catalog I thought it'd be ZZ but it turns out you have shit taste
this
the only step up was some of the music and the animation in specific scenes where they tried
>yazan forced animation

The thing is the more depressed he was the more popular his show was. turn a, king gainer, that other show that was with naked women during the whole eva era. they didn't do so good.
Nobody being depressed just says, hey I had a great time in those days.

No he got normal later on.

eh not me.
dub was god awful too, even with how godly the japanese VA is.

Claustophobic? Do you mean some sort of psychological tension? That both shows have a dark atmosphere?

What?

I actually forgot how well animated original Gundam was when they were re-using shit for the billionth time.

Not him but just like ideon the tension was real.
Nothing like white base which did show it but in zeta and ideon, they were completely alone. gundam was a part of the whole earth federation.

haha true
I recognize that the quality of animation in the tv series is garbage, but overall I actually like the art style and character designs so much more

Sort of, I mean the atmosphere and relationships in mostly closed ships.

I mean in 0079 they had the whole army with them. in zeta they were a small rebel army with a rag tag bunch of fucked up characters. and that's saying even when gundam had a bunch of kids.

...

Zeta just had a ton of drama, not just because of the more draker and more mature setting but because of char being a full main character too.

I never had any problem with 0079's animation. I dig 70's anime.

>ZZ a 9/10
Sasuga, user. Truly a man of taste.
I'd fug Puru's intact virgin cunny

Whats the worst or the beginning of the end gundam series for you?

I say gundam wing because of how it made me hate gundam as a kid.

G gundam made me like it though.
youtube.com/watch?v=j-qRH-awJX0
The show was the least gundam out of all of them but it had the best ending.

Also holy shit English dub was corny, how the fuck did I watch that in the open.

Fuck you, Purus are made for love not lewd.
