In college I see more Asians studying their ass off than just "getting it" right away.
East Asians have a pretty entrenched view of discipline, from their early religion, to their governing administration, to their lore. It's not all tied by intelligence(Last Samurai, putting honorable discipline before technological progress), but definitely has a premium level of discipline. I envy and cherish them for it.
