Here's what I hope happens:

Both Akko and Diana are trying to solve the same problem that is plaguing the world, but have differing views. Akko is more idealistic/optimistic, and Diana is more pragmantic but takes to extreme methods that may include collateral as she values the good of all over the good of a few, and believes Akko's methods leave too much up to chance. They clash over this, naturally. That would make a decent end-game plot for this, IMO.

How does it feel to be in the same IQ level as Akko? They literally sneak in plot in most episodes. Ones that really feel pointless are the Nightfall episode and the Fafnir one, but even then they both have a lot of world building.

That's also why Ursula's copy of the Arcturus Words has the topmost one as basically illegible. She doesn't know what it says either, because she never unlocked it before losing her YAY. That's why Woodward is so insistent that Chariot help Akko to unlock the Words, she wants to get free and is upset that her investment of time and effort in Chariot ended up not panning out.
