I think the most ridiculous part of his character isn't being a god at children's card games, because that kind of comes with the territory of the premise, but the fact that he ended up being an UNRIVALED GENIUS IN PHYSICS that SOLVED THE WORLD'S ENERGY CRISIS despite NOT EVEN HAVING A HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION.
