Is this the end of the blue psychic seas

I can't even hear 5 seconds of this song without something getting on my eye

To this day the Shapes fuck me up...they had no idea what they were getting into...:(

Really good anime, but they could have made it a little more engaging.

Anyways, I firmly believe this anime is anti-nihilism.

>Anyways, I firmly believe this anime is anti-nihilism

Same. It's a shame how many people miss the point.

yoshii did nothing wrong

DUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDU

TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU TU

Anyone have the image where MC keep falling down the stairs? It's a variant of that old meme. Can't find mine anywhere

Was this the original version? It's the oldest I have

Ironically that makes it more like Nietzsche's actual thoughts. He maintained that you should apply your own meaning to the ultimately meaningless world, that you shouldn't descend into apathy just because your environment is absurd and cruel.

Thats why Texhnolyze is good, and why edgy teenagers never really "got" the nihilist texts they love quoting.

My understanding was that existentialism proposed applying your own meaning even though you understand the world has no inherent meaning. This contrasted Nihilism's idea that there was no sense in applying meaning.

i.e. existentialism: the world has no meaning but I can give it one
nihilism: the world has no meaning and I can't give it one

Basically you have to remember that Nietzhe's whole position was that Schopenhauer was too pessimistic.

Look at the very concept of the Ubermensch. If everything was overtly meaningless, who would ever strive? The Will to Power would not exist.

It would also be more accurate to say that Existentialism is the belief that the individual itself has meaning in the absurd world, while Nietzsche thought that the individual could apply a meaning of his own creation upon the world through his force of will.

Note: I am not philosopher. My degrees are in history but you end up reading a lot of this stuff anyway. Too many important people borrowed/perverted the ideas.

Sad news for anybody who doesn't follow Hamasaki on Twitter: Yoshii's seiyuu passed away this month.

So... Despera never?

Is this the yearly Texhnolyze thread?

>Shapes

Texhnolyze fucked me up pretty badly

Wow, this is really well done.

>Anyways, I firmly believe this anime is anti-nihilism.
How so?

RIP in piece

Its actually really hard to recommend texhnolyze.

Its like a secret treasure you don't want to share, but you know it should be.

Yes > Yes > Ergo Proxy > Bearsuit

ergo proxy was so good until that fucking gameshow episode which is fucking canon as it is referenced in a flashback in the final episode.

Talk about a fucking waste.

I don't get it

me too

They ran out of budget and had to fill in alot of plot. I don't hold it against them too much. It's the Disney episode that was balls

>existentialism: the world has no meaning but I can give it one

One word: Pride

arguably worse than nilihism.

well I'm sick of hating on it, whats your favorite episode?

I liked the tech-ghost town shit, gave me the same vibes I got from reading blame!.

Reddit

is that >>>

way buddy.

lad no, nihilism is one of the many obstacles you have to over come if you have even the most basic intelligence.

Pride is just an emotion that you can feel at any time of your life, regardless of your intelligence or wisdom.

>whats your favorite episode?

Gosh it's been so many years since I watched it. But if I really broke it down to an ep-by-ep comparison, probably the one everybody likes, where they get stranded

the one where they're all on that wind powered "boat"?

yea

That's kind of what I liked about it, or at least what redeemed it. Overall it was pretty bad, but there were individual episodes, or even short runs of episodes, that were really good. I liked a lot of the first bits, I'd have to look at a synopsis to pick out specific episodes.

The scene with the mirror was great.

...

I always thought it was 燃える

Haibane Renmei > Else

Yes

Spoilt it for me I don't get it

You could maybe try watching the series.

>nihilism is one of the many obstacles you have to overcome.
It would have to be the first obstacle right?
Because I sure as hell haven't overcome it yet.

>nihilism is one of the many obstacles you have to over come

why?

Man it's been so long and I haven't finished it yet. Weird thing is I liked it at first, but something just didn't click. I think I stopped it around ep 11-12. I should really finish it at one point
