"isekai threads” mocking isekai are such a dumbass idea. Most of the isekai shit that's actually been animated have been pretty decent (Overlord, ReZero, Log Horizon, Konosuba) and you are not going to run into the really awfully crap unless you actively seek out narou machine translations.

I have no idea if I'm thinking about the same story here, but I think those blades are supposed to be disposable magic swords or something? Just guessing, since I think I did read this before, but I forgot whatever the hell this was supposed to be.

The steam engine is relatively simple. If you paid attention during science class you should be able to create a simple version with enough trial and error. Creating one that efficient enough or the infrastructure to power it is hard part.

Smartphones might take a few generations but you could easily jump start the process by introducing electrical power and the transistor if you have the political power.

Expect the blade is something like 90% of the production cost and the mechanism to detach it would double the price and half durability. Just fucking pick up another sword off the ground or bring two swords. Also Western swords weren't brittle enough to snap in two.

Considering much of the cost is in the blade itself, I don't see a particular need for a detachable one that would compromise the entire thing.

Don't know what kind of high school you went to but I've seen science projects more complicated than a steam engine.
Given you'd need a particularly nerdy student to know about some of the underlying technologies but none of them were especially hard to implement once you know the end product. Even the basics like algebra were revolutionary at one point.

Gyaru is the protagonist. The male character is an adventurer from the fantasy world that only exists so the author can say "no homo" at the gyaru having 3 girls that want to get in her pants.
