If you have a megane fetish, it is 11/10, otherwise it's 6 or 7/10.
6/10
Another "best girl got robbed" shitfest
8/10
what is it/10
>yfw kanna wins the user atsu/10
Always.
RIP
reminder
9/10
I love it. It's one of my all-time favorite romance anime. I watch it every year or so, and I've shown it to a couple people (who loved it too). There's so many things it does right.
>keeps a light-hearted tone and never gets too melodramatic
>cute meganekko female lead
>MC who has a personality and is both proactive and capable
>older girl/younger boy dynamic
>side characters who have their own thing going on and don't just meddle with the main characters
>based loli senpai
>neither the MC or main girl are too bothered that another girl has feelings for the MC; unlike other romance anime, the love triangle doesn't cause any real problems
>misunderstandings are resolved within an episode
>main couple gets together three episodes prior to the end
>rather than being overly noble and self-sacrificing, the main girl is a little selfish when it comes to being with the MC, which is a refreshing change of pace
>on screen kissu
Overall just a comfy good time. My only real complaint is that the resolution is a little rushed and happens in the last 30 seconds. I would have liked them to expand on it a little more.
Kanna should've won/10
Kanna had her childhood friend, who was head-over-heels for her. How can you feel sorry for her, when she rejected him?
Watch it. It's good. At least give it three episodes.
Kanna may have lost the user Atsu, but she won the Osananajimi Bowl.
>A girl should just love anyone who loves her
No
>A boy should just love anyone who loves him
No
It's literally
>Girl falls out of sky
>Falls for MC because he is nice
>Childhood friend bullshit
For lack of originality it can't be more than a 4/10 for me.
He's not just anyone; he's her childhood friend.
Why are you so sympathetic towards Kanna, but not Tetsuro, Kaito, or Ichika?
I didn't say that, every character was shit except loli.
5/10
of all the anime i've ever watched, this certainly was one of them
character designs were cool but nothing happens. meddlesome loli best girl.
I don't remember much of it but I know I didn't enjoy it very much. So 4/10.
>>Girl falls out of sky
This is a good cliche.
>>Falls for MC because he is nice
No, he chases after her most of the series. He confesses twice, almost dies twice, saves her from a drone, and helps her find what she was looking for.
On top of that, he's not just some generic self-insert. He has personality and goals of his own. That's what the whole movie making plot is about.
>>Childhood friend bullshit
Even if you hated the side characters' love story, the main characters' love story is great.
>nothing happens
Holy fuck, if you don't count shoujo manga adaptations, Ano Natsu is one of the few romance anime in all creation where the characters get together episodes before the ending. How the hell can you say nothing happens? More happens than most everything in its genre.
>This is a good cliche
All you had to say

I rate it WWW/10
I'm not a fan of Fisher Price Baby's First Romance stories. I don't care if "they get together" or "confess their feelings" or "have their first kiss." I'm into romance to see two people let each other into their lives and grow together.
No one grew in this show. No one let anyone else it. It's the tried and true "muh misunderstandings" and "muh unrequited love" garbage in a novel and cute setting.
Don't fall for cute, user. Your time's worth more than that.
No, no, no, you're not going to pass this show off that easily. If someone said that
>Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut is one of my favorite anime!
you could dismiss that, because it's an extremely generic sci-fi battle harem, with dozens like it. Bahamut doesn't do anything that other series don't. Ano Natsu de Matteru, on the other hand, does a hell of a lot of things that other romances don't. It's satisfying. It has progression and actually goes somewhere. It doesn't get tangled up with forced drama and actively avoids it where other series don't.

I also rate it lemon intro/10
How was she wearing the coat that the sister brought home?
9/10 only because OT is already a 10/10.
Kannafags can eat shit and die.
Have a think
Shit.
Can you recommend some shows that do do that?
>ep 1-11
ok
>ep 12
>MIB with rocket launchers everywhere
They should have had 12 episodes just like the finale
>It's the tried and true "muh misunderstandings" and "muh unrequited love" garbage in a novel and cute setting.
There were two misunderstandings in the entire series that were both resolved within five minutes. And the unrequited love had no negative affect on the main couples' romance; in fact, the love rival ended up helping them get together.
>No one grew in this show. No one let anyone else it.
What are you even talking about? Did you miss the character arcs? Such as Kaito being directionless and thinking about himself too much? Or Ichika shutting herself out and trying to distance herself? How can you say they didn't let each other in?
>Don't fall for cute, user. Your time's worth more than that.
My standards aren't excessively high, but they aren't low either.
* characters you like and root for
* characters with chemistry, who you enjoy seeing interact
* characters who actually get together
* characters who show affection
That's really all a good romance needs. If there's an arc, great. But not every romance needs one. I think you coudl have a cute slice-of-life 4koma romance where the characters remain mostly the same (Houkago Play is sort of like that).
Sure, but your options are pretty limited. Anime is the most autistic medium so 99.9999% of everything produced is shit.
In no particular order:
>Spice and Wolf
>Clannad*
>Beck
>Nana
>Katanagatari
>Re:Life*
>Sakurasou
>Shirayukihime
>Nagi No Asukara
>Golden Time*
>Guilty Crown
* = these shows are absolutely retarded, but the interactions between the two main love interests pay off in at least one big scene that will destroy you
Not him, but I imagine he's going to give you the standard responses, like Karekano, Toradora, Spice & Wolf, Nodame Cantabile, and so forth. Which are all fine, but have their flaws as well.
Honestly, if you want good romance, it's manga or nothing. You're not going to find happiness with most romance anime.
But the best girl wasn't even in the love triangle(s).
This has to be a joke.
>>Katanagatari
Bad end.
>>Re:Life
Agonizingly bad. Agonizingly. It's the Japanese obsession with high school personified even more so than Haruhi. It's also needlessly melodramatic.
>>Sakurasou
Holds the distinction of being the only anime where the main character and both his love interests are all tied for "Worst Girl".
>>Nagi No Asukara
First NTR? Seriously? I mean, really? Out of all the Mari Okada series, you picked Fish NTR? I don't even dislike Mari Okada, but come on, man.
>>Golden Time
Ruined by Ghost Banri. I was on board prior to that.
>>Guilty Crown
One of the few times where Sup Forums is right about worst girl winning.
>Clannad
>retarded
It's really not. The problem is that a few characters are a bit weak. But overall it's great. I'm not a Nagisa fan but her story, especially After Story, is great.
I said I hate shit anime romances that focus on cute situations. I said I prefer to see two characters grow together. That's my list so far, pick it apart if you will.
Nozoroi Ann
Koe No Katachi
maybe... Karen? (the manga)
Nah, I could see half of that list coming a mile away. He's clearly the type that's like long, melodramatic shit. I'm surprised he didn't list Honey and Clover. People like him eat that shit up.
>long
>melodramatic
Negative spin but that's pretty much what I said I preferred. Seeing characters grow.
Seeing them do things. Seeing them make choices. Seeing the patterns in their thinking and behavior change over time, due to the influence of the other person.
If you want me to apologize or repent for disliking quick, meaningless sweetness, we're gonna be here for a while.
>Koe No Katachi
Ending is kind of anticlimactic, but definitely worthwhile otherwise.
I would, but I remember nothing about it aside from the fact there was a nudist girl in it.
I still have PTSD from H&C.
Wut?
Yea, that's a major disappointment for me but every else is great
why?
Anticlimatic? So what you expected?
You know what's a surprisingly good romance? Dusk Maiden. Far better than it has any right to be, being an ecchi comedy written by a hentai artist.
Why? Have you seen the show?
>options limited
>that list
You just don't watch enough anime. I'll humor your poor taste with romance. Bungaku Shoujo
Well, they all just sort of forgive each other, then it ends. I expected something with a little more meat to it. And they never make it clear where Ishida and Nishimiya's relationship goes.
I want to love this show/manga but it's just a series of fragile excuses to show Yuuko's rockin bod.
>complaining about lack of story or plot in ecchi show
I know I'm literal trash.
>Bungaku Shoujo
I remember disliking this, but I don't remember why. Was it lack of resolution? Not having a plot? All I remember is that it was really short. Like two OVAs or something.
Or maybe I watched it, but didn't finish it. I could always give it another try.
Baited for this EXACT recommendation. Now I'm gonna watch it, and there's nothing you can do about it.
got a link to the torrent?
it's because the 3 OVAs are the first half and not the story itself, it merely introduces the heroines. The movie is where it's at.
Basically watch 3 OVAs then movie.
The anime fucks it up, but the manga's mystery was pretty compelling to me. Believe me, I wasn't just thinking about Yuuko's body in this scene.
Damn her head is kinda too big.
It's on Nyaa, dude.
That's the one with the most seeds. Personally, I use Nibl if I'm downloading an entire series. A single torrent for a new release is faster than XDCC, but XDCC is faster for older stuff, particularly if you're getting multiple episodes.
I was honestly convinced that the series was trying to make the MC and his love interest so unlikable that they would go to space to be together, but accidentally crash into the sub and die.
The MC is literally nothing while everyone around him suffered because of him. Then he has to be straight up told to do something about it and that what's her face liked him, to which he only made the situation worse by being an asshole about it.
don't touch the lenses, you stupid whore/10
>XD
kys user
Clank/10
I loved it.
This bitch.
And be thankful I'm spoonfeeding your dumb ass. I scared my eyes google searching "waiting in the summer nudist".
She wasn't unlikable, but she was still probably the dumbest thing about this series.
Does being naked in your house make you a nudist?
>The MC is literally nothing while everyone around him suffered because of him.
Ha ha, why? Because he doesn't get confused and angsty when he finds out Kanna has unrequited feelings for him? Because he doesn't force himself to date Kanna just to make his friends happy? I loved that. It was so refreshing. It was the complete opposite of what happened in Onegai Teacher, where the MC forced himself to date the other girl out of obligation.
One of my favorite scenes in Ano Natsu is Tetsuro raging at Kaito for not caring about how Kanna feels about him. It was so realistic on Kaito's part. Imagine that you liked Girl A, Girl A liked you back, but then you found out Girl B liked you. Would you turn your life upside down for Girl B? No, you wouldn't. You'd be like "I feel bad for B-san, but I have to live my own life".
>Then he has to be straight up told to do something about it and that what's her face liked him, to which he only made the situation worse by being an asshole about it.
Are you referring to Kanna or Ichika? Because I can't tell. With Kanna, he doesn't do anything, nor should he. It's not his job to go out with her out of obligation, nor is it to proactively reject her. Instead, he lets her confess, then turns her down when she does.
If you're talking about Ichika, he does a lot to win her. He's trying the whole damn show. The only advice he really needs is from Lemon, when she tells him to think about Ichika's feelings a little bit more, which he takes to heart. Nothing wrong with that.
Where else can you legally be naked?
...
No, because it's not that he was confused and angsty, it's because he has literal downs and had no idea what was going on around him. You know what they call not being able to pick up on obvious social cues around you? Autism.
>One of my favorite scenes in Ano Natsu is Tetsuro raging at Kaito for not caring about how Kanna feels about him.
Hah. Funny. You just proved you're a shit human being. Him not returning her feelings isn't the problem. The problem is him being an oblivious asshole.
>he does a lot to win her
You can't be serious. He did literally nothing. He walked around the whole series looking through his camera like a retard drooling at the mouth. Ichika literally wanted his dick for no reason at all. Kanna was the same way. Ichika literally falls from the sky onto his dick, for that matter. Let's see you name a single actual notable thing he did in the series other than make other people suffer because his own stupidity and indecisiveness.
The people who actually fans of this show are always so dumb it's hilarious.
Forgettable/10
I thought it was pretty mediocre, but I don't remember enough of the show to tell you why.
>The problem is him being an oblivious asshole.
That's what he's supposed to do. She hadn't confessed to him at that point. What did you want him to do? Go up to Kanna and say, "Hey, I heard you liked me; sorry, but I don't feel the same"?
>You can't be serious. He did literally nothing.
-let her stay in his home
-defended her to his sister and friend
-constantly initiated conversation with her, trying to get closer to her
-confesses to her
-literally chases after her a few times
-saved her from a robot
-helped look for the thing she was searching for in secret, when she wasn't even talking to him
-tried to protect her from the alien ship that came for her
...
Home isn't even his, it cost him nothing for her to stay there.
He said a few shallow a generic lines, nothing more than what you'd do for a passing acquaintance.
Talking to someone means nothing. That's not expending effort. He also hardly ever talked to her.
Confessing to someone who already clearly likes you means nothing.
Everyone in the show chased after her to try and save her from the robots, it wasn't just him.
Same thing as the previous point. It wasn't just him who did that.
>She hadn't confessed to him at that point.
She hadn't told anyone else she liked him yet either, but the whole cast figured it out on their own anyway, except for the retard MC. Even Ichika figured it out only knowing her for a very short time.
>he's suppose to be an oblivious asshole
Ahaha. Wow. Enjoy having the last word. I can't argue with this autism.
...
...
...
...
...
Probably the only actually nudist anime character I know that isn't quite sexualized for it. I like her.
If you prefer it to wearing clothes around the house, it does by some definitions.
Nude beaches and resorts
Though those are either surprisingly scarce or unsurprisingly distrustful of single males in order to keep a gender balance
I sort of wish it was a more culturally acceptable thing around friends etc, but it's probably for the best that it isn't.
...
...
...
I fucking hated that they threw in the recording at the end that revealed the MCs of Onegai Teacher got forcibly separated.

Kanna/10
...
>Home isn't even his, it cost him nothing for her to stay there.
Most people wouldn't let a stranger into their home regardless. He went to bat for her.
>He said a few shallow a generic lines, nothing more than what you'd do for a passing acquaintance.
If it wasn't for that, she may not have secured a place to stay.
>Talking to someone means nothing. That's not expending effort.
>Confessing to someone who already clearly likes you means nothing.
First you say he did nothing, now you say it means nothing? The point is, he made a clear effort to get closer to her.
>He also hardly ever talked to her.
He spent a lot of time with her and always found excuses to talk with her. Like when he had her help him study and so forth. Basically, anytime Kaito had the opportunity, he was using it to get closer to her.
>Everyone in the show chased after her to try and save her from the robots, it wasn't just him.
No, you're thinking of the finale. I'm talking about during the test of courage walk. The first time the probe thing comes for her.
> Ahaha. Wow. Enjoy having the last word. I can't argue with this autism.
Seriously, what did you want him to do? His only options were
1. Proactively accept Kanna's love.
2. Proactively reject Kanna's love.
3. Wait for Kanna to confess, then accept.
4. Wait for Kanna to confess, then reject her.
Considering Kanna hadn't confessed to him yet and he didn't like her regardless, 4 is the only one that makes sense.
>She hadn't told anyone else she liked him yet either, but the whole cast figured it out on their own anyway, except for the retard MC. Even Ichika figured it out only knowing her for a very short time.
Why are her feelings his problem? They're friends, but he doesn't owe her anything. I swear, you'd make a good romance drama side character, user. You could be the MC's male friend who rages at him for not dating Side Girl-chan instead of Main Girl-san.
...
...
user, the point is that if everyone else in the series could figure out Kanna's feelings, there's not reason the MC couldn't have. So instead he strings her along for years, which causes all the problems in the series. If he has just rejected her out right years ago, it would have never been a problem.
She didn't confess years ago. She didn't confess when the series started. She only confessed after he started dating another girl.
And he's not "stringing her along". He treats her the same as he does any other friend.
>She didn't confess years ago.
It doesn't matter, and it was explained why in the post you're replying to. You might actually want to get tested for autism.
>7.5/10
Really satisfying love circle.
I wish more shows would have that amount of realism.
>Other characters are dating and not just every girl after MC dick
>Girls crying and trying to accept that someone loves someone else.
>They still have to put on a brave face and be part of the friend circle
Pic related is basically the same show. Not as good but still interesting.
Kiznaiver is also the exact same thing. I was surprised to find out that they didn't have the same writer.
>shaggy-haired MC is in love with aloof girl
>MC's no-nonsense female friend is in love with him
>MC's tall, cool male friend is in love with MC's female friend, but wants her to be happy, so he gets angry at the MC for not noticing female friend's affection
>weirdo girl is in love with MC's male friend
