So i went and I read everything I could on the subject. Two main trends stood out to me immediately:
1. All of the evidence, on its face, lends credence to racism. It always, always, shows groups performing differently. You have to make up elaborate explanations for why the surface level reading is wrong.
2. Anti-racists almost never engage with racists on facts, they usually ridicule, ostracize, refuse to even to listen to, or physically attack racists.
What caused me to be racist is therefore two different things. One was excising the massive brainwashing in me that had for 2 decades of my life stomped into my brain the idea that racism was the worst possible thing ever. The second was simply reading the literature with an unbiased eye and seeing the overwhelming preponderance on the side of racists.
