>implying it was ever a parody

>it's just an comedy set in isekai format

That he's a hack.

>he
You're not wrong, but still. We can call it an affectionate parody or something.

What's that book holding down the page?

What makes you think Konosuba is a parody? Disregarding the comedy elements it's a rather standard isekai series.

Wtf???? I hate konosuba now!

No clue, just grabbed it off google

Is Konosuba the greatest comedy romance of anime?

>Megumin pandering
Why exactly is she so popular? Does a character really just need to be chuuni and yell explosion to take over a seris?

it's written by a woman you tool

colour me surprised tbqh

>implying it was parodying anything

Stupid idiot, this shit is made to sell.

I dont believe it

i need a sauce on this

It's like One Punch Man. It lulls you in with the facade that its a parody of badly written shit, but in reality it's just that the author knows they're a hack and then entire thing is played straight.

Money.
Otakus still want their love fantasy.

"Lol they all suck at everything" is not a parody

I don't understand

It's a gender neutral way to refer to someone. Do you seriously want anons to write "xe"?

What is it suppose to be parodying?

Akatsuki Natsume is her name

You know the gender-neutral way to refer to someone is "they", right

Stop falling victim to the megumeme.

>it's a parody because all the characters are assholes and doesn't follow themconvention and cliches of the genre to the leter
I bet you are one of those faggots who call any grimdark take on a genre a fucking deconstruction

So?

It sounds even more stupid and creates confusion. At least don't bring your bullshit to Sup Forums.

>deconstruction

when will tards stop using this wrong

Is that supposed to be a feminine name? And it could be just a pen name

So akatsuki is an only girl name?

Grammatically incorrect.

Read the LNs and youll understand. Lets just say that volume 5, which would be the first half of season 3, is the reason why people are flocking to her that much. Starting with that book she became the by far most fleshed out character of the entire series.

>don't you dare bring english grammar to Sup Forums
no u

well let's be real, most of her fans like her for being a dank meme in the anime
idk that sounds gender neutral to me

>he
>gender neutral
Shouldnt you use "they" in this situation? English isn't my first language so i might be wrong, but "he" is definitely not neutral

Both singular they and generic he exist in English, but completely disregarding generic he reeks of SJW bullshit.

>be ESL
>speak better english than the average american
embarrassing

>implying americans aren't esl

pff

You know damn well the majority of fans are animeonlyfags and have never even glanced at the LN.

>readers start loving Megumin once she starts loving the MC

All the ESL americans are getting thrown back over the fence nowadays.

that's probably when they'll stop loving her when she's not a pure^tm loli anymore

Not really, generic he is completely acceptable.

Well no, she was already the most popular character back in WN days. The point is that LN5 actually changed the way a lot of people looked at her as a character. Its very likely that the last bit of that book, and I am not talking about anything related to romance here, scored her such an insane amount of points with most people that she will never not be popular. I am, its not like competition is strong anyway.

-Iris is a marry sue that is the by far most bland and boring character in the entire series.
-Darcness fetish got boring after the first two books and she hasnt really developed at all, right now she doesnt even really serve a purpose apart from being attractive.
-Aqua gets most of the banter, but her being so incredibly retarded (while funny) also makes her somewhat dislikable to most.
-Eris/Chris doesnt have enough screen-time and quite frankly also isnt all that interesting. Sure, her thief adventures were pretty cool but those get stale rather quickly. Her personality seems rather bland.
-YunYun is one of those characters we dont even need to get started on.

Especially when you compare Megumins actions to the rest of the cast there is literally no one who talked about the party the way she did, no one who was willing to make a sacrifice as big as her (at least not yet). I feel like that alone make her more popular than the rest of the cast. All her other traits just add to that (especially since, at least to me, her outspoken way of approaching her feelings is rather refreshing).

Bullshit, you're making things seem deeper than they actually are. Animeonly faggots don't know about it and still eat it up. It's just her design and a gag that was funny at first that made them latch on to her. "Deep" justifications are then made up afterwards about something you already like.

This might just be me but if I character does nothing but use the same gag over and over again and never actually develops then thats a pretty big reason for me to dislike it. Its one of the main reasons why I lost any interest in Darcness since LN10 Darkness really isnt all that much different from LN1 Darcness. I feel like animeonly fags still had some form of contact with the LNs, especially since they are reading this board. But I see your point. The average viewer just flocks to what is popular so he can be part of a group.

Opm syndrome

Looks like volume 1 of the Kabaneri BDs.

Why do people always seem to think that parodies or comedic versions or whatever are "against" the thing they're riffing on?
