How much value do you put into visual direction?

How much value do you put into visual direction?

Is that sword art online? Whoa, what happened?

A-1 pictures turned into A-1 kino

It shouldn't be surprising, Tomohiko Ito is Mamoru Hosoda's student after all.

That guy's gotta be given better projects.

Erased was pretty good until it lost steam around the villain reveal.

Why does every show have identical backgrounds? Also, I challenge everyone to find a black pixel in op's image.

Is drawing with just three colors considered artistic ?

Sure, since you can make more colors by mixing the base three. But only if you do it well.

Erased was never good

No but i can find a black cock in your butt.

Aniplex finds a way

I appreciate it, but art means shit if the plot and characters can't back it up. Twin Star Exorcist, Promised Neverland, and Daigo of Fire Company M come to mind. Great art, lackluster plot. The only reason I trudged through them as far as I did was because of the art, especially with Twin Star.

there is anything wrong with OP's pic? I find the moody colors fitting for that season

the making of that collage cost 7 lives of poor defenseless sub-minimum wage artists

At least the sales could recover whatever losses.

It's cluttered edgy shit. Also, random ass backgrounds is not visual direction.

In a way, it does.

EVA is babby's first symbolism

How's the animation and where's the 3+ tone shading?

>random ass backgrounds is not visual direction.
This

Visual direction is more about the actual scenes and how they relate to the story. Good visual direction can tell half the story just by itself.

SAO has god-tier animation

We haven't seen face closeups yet.

gilded poo is still a poo

Really? In a visual medium?

>cool guys don't look at explosions
