One of those shows where a lot of the worldbuilding isn't really explained immediately, so it feels like you're coming in a season late. Can be jarring to week-to-week audiences. See also: Concrete Revolutio, Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin, etc.
The difference being that Un-Go is great, ConRevo merely okay-good, and Nanana deeply mediocre.

Mystery shows don't really do well by default since the viewer's opinions on the cases are too heavy. Also UN-GO kinda threw everything at your face and hope to clear up loose ends with the 50 min OVA/movie.
I really wanted to see how Shinjuuro deals with Kaishou after the final TV ep.
