They weren't really reincarnations, rather scenarios Moon Kagari created to find a way to save the Earth. Kotarou was a fusion of previously tried plays, and because he carried a portion of Earth Kagari's power in all of them, he was just somehow transported there. It took to write his attraction to Kagari into the laws of the universe to change the outcome decisively, otherwise there would have been no good endings for Earth, and this was the only working method Moon Kagari could deduct.

His power is to rewrite his own body. Essentially the power Guardian and Gaia uses are the same, they tap one's own life force but Gaia cultists use it to create familiars which consume more power than using the talent you are naturally born with.

Kotarou could rewrite without penalty before Terra because he got Kagari's power and used that as a supplement but on Terra he fucked up his own body beyond repair. To defeat Esaka and the Earth Dragon he had to do that much.

As an animeonlyfag I really enjoyed this, the 2nd season was much better then the first and the end was really good.

That kissu at the end was 10/10.

A little disappointed we didn't see Koutaro's new rewrite design for when the girls summoned him though.

I loved that last minute so much, and now that it's over I feel empty inside. Despite Rewrite having been a VN I really loved I didn't know if my attachment to it would be something that'd last through time... but now despite the adaptation being what it was I'm damn sad it's over so I supposed it has.

My only regret for this ending is that Kotarou didn't tell her "in this dark world you were my only light".

So I just realized that at the opening sequence in Season 1 on episode 1 they showed us this scene of Moon Kagari alone. They did the same thing again in the opening sequence of the last episode too. It's like she's been here the whole time watching and waiting for Kotarou to come again.

Butler is what Kotaro is currently, a rewrite user that overused their power and became a tree, which was then contracted and became a monster with the rewrite ability.

What Kotarou did for Kagari's research was to add himself just after her birth and guide his actions according to the "promise".

The answer was literally Terra. He, as a rewriter, meeting Kagari in that fateful day and not getting half killed by her was the trigger to the chain of events that would lead to the dismantlement of Gaia and Guardian, the acquisition of good memories and eventually to mankind's salvation. By the time of the other five heroine routes, it's too late and the earth is already fucked, regardless of whether they kill Kagari or not.

Moon Kagari isn't related to season 1 Kagari or any of the other Kagaris. What Kotarou did was just input a new possibility of him just being dedicated to his love for Kagari from the beginning. That led Kagari to see a new possibility and calculate a way for humanity to survive and avoid re-evolution.

So the earth was actually dying in the end? and Jasmin stays in dying earth while Bond thinks a way to build a NICE BOAT to take humanity to live far away? that part is really confusing I'll be playing the VN soon though

He just wrote a kind of love message to kagari in the code she was using in her program. Kagari put the code in the program and voila, Kotarou´s love for Kagari got imprssed in the laws of universe, and as a result Terra route was, where Kotarou's love would save the world.
