Legend of The Galactic Heroes

is this show worth watching in current year? or is it a better idea to just watch five+ other shows in that time?

If you like space operas, sure.

It's a good show but the lack of Kircheis really drags the later episodes down.

seriously, if only Kircheis was in those episodes...

It's decent with some good and bad ideas. The 4th season sucks balls.

I just finished it. Watched like ~10 episodes per day for a little over a week.

I really really liked it. The characters commentary on politics is pretty thought provoking, and they set up all the events really well. It's really good with dramatic irony.

Would recommend.

It doesn't age, so yeah. It will be more relevant in 20 years than some anime today.

Agreed. It went from intense and philosophical to mushy and overly dramatic right after that. When I was watching the 4th season, it was as if the other 86 episodes almost never happened.

Needs more half-circles

And just don't forget Julian. Hell, I'd beat the living crap out of him. Horribad character.

>still no no news about the new anime

Is this a bad thing?
>no Tomiyama Kei
>CG bullshit ships
>no original director

I have a feeling they will adapt that piece of shit manga with the same design.

I dropped it after about 13 episodes despite liking slow political shit generally, but considering it's one of the few shows of its kind it's definitely worth a try. I hope you like it more than I did.

You could watch 50 shows and they wouldn't come close to the amount of entertainment LOGH provides. There's nothing else like it in the anime medium.

I'm dreading how the soundtrack will turn out for that.

I wanted to see a bit more fleet micromanaging from Reinhard. He fairly quickly just left most things to the other admirals.

Well they're all highly talented admirals so why not? He still did some in critical moments like one of the battles in corridor.

It's logical, I just personally wanted to see more of it.

I found the fourth season the weakest, the cult started getting ridiculous and some of the deaths felt forced.

is the english in the subs difficult? i mean more complex than your average show? I'm not a native english speaker and there aren't any subs for logh in my language

is it even better than k-on?

I don't remember it being too difficult. It uses more complex language than your standard seasonal anime because it's aimed at an older audience, but it's really not that big a difference.

Of course not

I am currently watching it, I recently finished the first season and I really like it. The pros greatly outweight the cons. The world building leaves much to be desired though, but as long as you see it as a 20th century war story on a galactic scale rather than a science fiction series, it becomes infinitely better.

Also younger Wakamoto is fucking awesome in this show.

>is this show worth watching in current year?

It's very relevant.

>20th century
make that early 20th century / late 19th.

No, there's just a LOT of names to keep track of. It's not like, I don't know, Hyouge Mono were fan subbers had problems because of archaic speech or something.

Good. I hope it dies in production hell.

You will get world building, it just doesn't subscribe to "as you know" theory of setting exposition. Not to mention shit actually changes over the course of the series.

Part of me wants to see the trainwreck. I have a feeling we'll be lucky if we get Tytania 2.0.

good to know, also I watched hyouge mono quite easely
