The biggest concern is the potential bloat of the invasion. The webcomic did a good job of juggling the cast it had then but if the manga piles on more characters it could negatively impact the pacing and impact of the story, especially if it jumps around to a slew of new fights that don't add anything significant or meaningful to the arc as a whole and simply serve as a way to "expand" the scale.
