Anime collections

Show the animes and manga's you've collected after your first year.
If you can show a rough idea of the cost.
mine is £217

...

BTW I have 12 ghibli films so thats about another £150 added to the total amount.

Rotate the picture, bongtard

Also Gurren Lagann sucks ass, I bought the standard version of the collection you have, got to the Japanese bathouse episode and gave up. Infantile shite

When did megamind become a anime user?

...

It's just my animation shelf. Same reason the ouiaboo shit is there

how do you get all that money for the Blu-rays, there expensive even for normal releases

The bathhouse episode is stupid but it gets a million times better afterwards

The Manga Ent. shit is usually not too expensive, but for specialists like Anime Ltd. I generally wait til there's a sale

>buying anime
>buying western releases
>watching western releases
>'animes'
>lack of proper capitalization and punctuation use

Holy fuck you all need to get out of this board right now. Lurk a few years before you even think about posting again.

Not OP, but consider necking yourself

>A Drifting Life
I see you're also a fine gentleman of fantastic taste and which Taniguchi is that? I've only got A Distant Neighbourhood and Guardians of the Louvre.

Don't really feel like posting my collection now but the last thing I completed in it was Franken Fran.

Drifting Life made me realize how much I'd love to live in a shitty artist's studio like that.

That pic's actually old but Taniguchi wise I have;

Samurai Legend
Hotel Harbor View
The Ice Wanderer and Other Stories
Icaro Book 2
Japan As Viewed By 17 Creators

And my treasure is the big landscape format collection of his Venice sketches, done for the Luis Vuitton sketchbook collection. Was weird walking into a designer clothes store just to pick up some fancy mango

Still shocked about his passing. What a craftsman

The weird thing about that was I had just finished reading A Distant Neighbourhood the day before he died, I found that too bizarre. Did they ever tell us what he actually died of or was it just a natural passing?

You reminded me I need to pick up Ice Wanderer before it goes out of print. It's suffering being a Taniguchi fan here in the UK since it isn't like being in France or Japan where his books are constantly in print, Summit of the Gods volume one went out of print and it's fetching for around £1000 or so which is a stupid amount of money.

>animes
>manga's

Aw man that must've been surreal. Last time I read that was before it was picked up by Fanfare, definitely need's a re-read.

Think it was just a natural passing, none of the reports I read stated any specific cause.

Holy fuck, that's insane money. I hate how you sit on a book for a year or so and it's suddenly skyrocketed in price (I'm looking at you Message To Adolf vol.1). Wouldn't be surprised if most of Fanfare's catalogue is unobtainable now

Is this a bait thread?

>Sup Forums complains about people pirating anime and manga
>Finally purchase it
>m-muh Japanese releases only, kys
There's really no pleasing you faggots is there?

And I've just checked Amazon, A Distant Neighbourhood is looking like it is going out of print. Shame though, since the Fanfare hardcover reprint is absolutely beautiful.

How likely are Tezuka's books going to go out of print or come back in? I know they are reprinting Astro Boy in omnibus editions and I'm trying to get up to the current release before Dark Horse decides not to publish them anymore for a good while.

I must have spent over £2k importing shit from Japan. It's basically a mixture of books, CDs and the occasional BD set.

Fuck me, like I need to buy more books that'll take a year for me to read.

Tezuka's surprisingly niche (DMP only do small print runs of their crowdfunded books). The Vertical stuff sometimes gets re-printed in a new format (e.g. Dororo was originally three volumes later collected in one omni, Apollo's Song originally one omnibus and later split into two volumes)

Generally the omnis are the ones that go OOP the fastest. Not sure if they'll bother with Adolf again though, I think they've more or less finished with Tezuka now that DMP have taken over. Hoping someone picks up Phoenix, if Viz don't still retain the rights to it

Sentai Filmworks ha a sale like 2 weeks ago and a lot of the collections and stuff where getting 75% discounted.

Funimation recently ended their spring cleaning sale, got a couple purchases from them.

RightStuf also had a sale on the Sentai stuff 70% and stuff just this past weekend.

>collected after your first year
That was 20 years ago for me and I've sold off the stuff I collected back then long ago. My tastes have changed a lot since then.
