This will never get a second season

>this will never get a second season
Fucking kill me

kill your self

Blame the author being a lazy fuck

It did end pretty beautifully, but I was pissed they had to shove that fucking fake confession in there. Made it sting a bit worse

It ended well. If they do a 2nd season, they better not develop anything else with Oreki and Chitanda romantically.

Now as for Satoshi and Mayaka...

I'm so glad this shit doesn't get a sequel.

I'm so mad this masterpiece didn't get a sequel.

Being Asian, I've seen way too many romances where the woman agrees to an arranged marriage over their boyfriend or lover. I don't want this to end that way, so the ending is okay for me.

I'm so glad this shit doesn't get a sequel.

I unironically think KyoAni hasn't made a good show since this

Hibike S1 was more consistently strong than Hyouka. Chitanda and Oreki are weak, and there are some lackluster eps in there. Every character in Hibike S1 is effective and endearing, and all screentime is used effectively, all that and the visual storytelling is a cut above.

To be clear, you can like Hyouka more, but you should recognize that that opinion is going to be based more on its subject matter appealing to you rather than whether the show is actually critically good.

I disagree about Oreki being weak and the storytelling being a cut about but I do like hibike moer.

You're not the only one who's thinking that
I have a high hope that they will come back to their track with Koe no Katachi (since I haven't seen it yet)
I don't have any expectation in Violet Evergarden tho

Isn't Hyouka a side project?

...

KyoAni hasn't made a really good show since Clannad After Story.

>Hibike S1 was more consistently strong than Hyouka.
I wouldn't call it consistent but by the end of both shows, yeah I don't disagree with you.

>Every character in Hibike S1 is effective and endearing
Kumiko is very literally the only reason to even watch Hibike, lets be real here. It's overall cast is shit.

>It's overall cast is shit.
Well that's a pretty general statement.

Kumiko is obviously great, a much stronger and more interesting MC that Oreki anyway, I think we can all agree on that so let's put her aside.

I can understand why people would not like Reina, but she's a strong character. Driven, idealistic, strong agency in the story, arguably an emotionless or kudere archetype, but also multifaceted, willing to be childishly playful with Kumiko, I'd argue a fantastic foil for Kumiko. Reina drives Kumiko's arc beautifully.

Asuka is charming and the intrigue around her motivation is one of the best things about S1. Having your perfect senpai both refuse to be the club president for mysterious reasons and be the comic relief character in so many situations in genius.

I'm not gonna go through the whole damn list, but I will hit the ones that everybody likes to shit on:

Hazuki's date with wiener boy is fantastic and anybody who doesn't love her in that scene of ep8 is literally retarded. First watching her heart begin to break when she inevitably gets shot down, then watching her pluck turn it around to start rooting for Kumiko is fantastic. The cherry on top is when she admits to Kumiko that she knew Kumiko had a thing for Shuichi and went after him anyway. She knowingly betrayed her friend and then openly apologized for it. That is fucking realism. That's depth of character.

Okay so, Midori. She looks like an elementary schooler but acts as the mother of the group, the mother hen looking out for all her little chicks. Her instrument being so much bigger than her is a metaphor for her character, she's always being more mature that she appears, she doesn't want to be called Sapphire, and she's able to read people just by looking them up and down. She's bursting with ambition and courage, and inspires the others to be the same way.

You may not like the characters, but Hibike has very strong characterization especially for such a varied cast.

It doesn't need one.

I'm honestly a little glad, All people ever talked about was fucking romance garbage.

Can't have one show that doesn't get a romance end because god forbid.

who are your favorite kyoani MCs?

That's not uncommon.
Heck, I don't even think Hyouka is a good show.
K-On! rocks and Nichijou was solid, rest is bad to mixed.
