>SDR2 >Hopeman is a psychotic genius willing to fabricate obstacles for his classmates in order to see a stronger hope overcome them >get's his way with absurdly intricate plans and only uses his uncontrollable and spontaneous luck when there's no other option >has deteriorating brain tissue with only a year left
>Danganronpa 3 >actively helps his classmates by making things easier on them sometimes (like asking for a test to be postponed after the Twilight Murder incident) >abuses luck without a 2nd thought to the point where it becomes an obvious excuse to get the story moving (as in how he found where Junko was hiding out and the fact she was evil) >brain cancer thing is forgotten We all know the plot to 3 was fucked from the ground up but they took a pickaxe to the characters too.
At least DR3 inspired some of the funniest discussions I've seen on this board, so I guess it's existence isn't too bad
Jace Barnes
The dissemination of memes was made good out of a bad situation
Julian Sanders
>brain cancer thing is forgotten Gary Stu probably cured him, as idiotic as that sounds How did a general-esque thread that stayed up for so long manage to avoid becoming complete cancer? Was it because of the constant content being put up? Now that I think about it, I think DR3 started the "anime girls holding guns" meme
Since he was aged down along with his memories in Danganronpa 2 when he claimed he only had a year left, shouldn't he have died during his high school years?
Carson White
staying in the closet at the cost of the world
was it worth it?
Elijah Perry
>general-esque thread You mean weekly threads for a shoew that airs weekly? The most common type of thread on Sup Forums? There's nothing general-esque about them. They're just talkback threads for discussion of new pieces of content. >I think DR3 started the "anime girls holding guns" meme No, that's been going for years. Even older than "anime girl smoking weed" or "anime girl wearing trashy American fashion".
Jace Gonzalez
No memes are worth the destruction of the series.
God I still cant believe they had everyone from DR2 come back to live, this is the dumbest thing ever. Fucking storywriting 101 IF YOU ESTABLISHED DEATH AS PERMANENT FUCKING KEEP DEAD PEOPLE DEAD. Or vegetables in this case.
Caleb Flores
I miss the dangan threads. Man, time flies fast
Jaxon Lewis
>God I still cant believe they had everyone from DR2 come back to live, this is the dumbest thing ever. Fucking storywriting 101 IF YOU ESTABLISHED DEATH AS PERMANENT FUCKING KEEP DEAD PEOPLE DEAD. Or vegetables in this case. I was slightly concerned when I saw the game backpedal on their deaths like that, but it wasn't until the anime where this became a serious problem.
Landon Parker
>Gary Stu probably cured him, as idiotic as that sounds Didn't they leave immediately after he was rescued? I don't see how he could've had neurosurgery then.

JUZOBOYS ASSEMBLE
Juan Taylor
Juzo was a shortsighted faggot that essentially let the world be destroyed so Munakata would never look at him funny.
But that's part of why we love the guy,
Mason Sanders
Juzo got manipulated into hiding Junko literally 1 day before the beta uprising Munakatana couldn't have done shit
Zachary Baker
The best memes come out of shitty media
Owen Thomas
they probably should've just let the kids die after their virtual executions. Sort of retroactively took away from those final scenes (Peko and Gundam's hit the hardest).
Dylan Howard
This guy made me like Megumi Ogata
Jace Martinez
I miss Juzoboys, and i hated juzo
Joseph White
Hopeman pretty much made super dangan ronpa 2.
Jayden Gonzalez
Not only was it bad but it was so bad it actually makes DG2 worse if you take into consideration what 3 did to 2 plot. >All dead kids were actually alive >Except for the only good person >Junko wasn't some master manipulator, she just bully a kid and stole his brainwashing device. >The whole fucking brainwashing was goddamn terrible plot device. trivialize that the students from DG2 was never "evil" but was simply forced, unlike in DG2 where it seem like they were sway into joining Junko side cause despair. brainwashing =/= despair
I just pretend DG3 never existed, it's better that way.
Gabriel Butler
Wait, does he really have brain cancer? I got the impression from somewhere that he was just bullshitting about that.
Julian Garcia
There wasn't any reason to assume he was lying,
Anthony Reed
Super new fag... Who and what is OP? Looks like an older Killua from Hunter x Hunter.
Carter Lee
He was never controlled, not even remotely.
Gabriel Collins
You could say that we made hope from despair.
Nathan Morris
From the Dangan Ropa franchise, his name is Hopeman. He appears in SDR2. If you removed the brainwashing and anime kid I think that would fix nearly every problem with the entire story. Just make Junko come in and convince everyone over Chisa. What they did to Chisa was far more horrible anyways, so watching her class get stolen from her without magical brainwashing would have at least been entertaining.
Ayden Davis
>tfw no mikan body wrap
Jeremiah Ortiz
I don't know what you were honestly expecting. Junko's viewpoint has no philosophical merit. She was never going to get otherwise healthy people to join a cult, that gets big enough to destroy the world, because lul despair.
In the games, Junko could work, because all her feats were off screen, and unexplained. You're not supposed to think about it too hard. But thinking about it even a little, it's clear that mind control is the only option, and it always was.
Luke Price
>In the games, Junko could work, because all her feats were off screen, and unexplained. You're not supposed to think about it too hard. But thinking about it even a little, it's clear that mind control is the only option, and it always was. If that's so then Despair arc was inherently a mistake.
Sebastian Lewis
yes it was. Backstory was always an iffy thing for this series. Complicated murder mysteries? Sure. Consistent lore? Eh.
Caleb Evans
I always thought Junko could brainwash people due to her charisma since she's SHSL abilities are near supernatural.
Bentley Kelly
Why are you guys even discussing Danganronpa 3 instead of simply pretending it never existed?
Charles Gray
If anything deserves the Tsukihime treatment it would be these 2 awful sounding hypothetical series.
Zachary Brooks
Tsukihime treatment?
David Hall
The thing is, DR2 free time events make it a point that the class wasn't healthy. They all add deeply rooted insecurities, and charismatic people preying on insecurities is literally how cults get started.
Nolan Lewis
>No Tsukihime anime yet
Ryder Thomas
>game series where the only good thing are the cases and contained characters >remove both and focus around the awful story
DR3 was doomed from the get-go.
Aiden Cox
These anons got it right. Just wait to play v3 and abandon the thread before some fag tries to spoil it
Nolan Gray
I was already spoiled some of v3 and heard it's not any better than DR3.
Ethan Jones
I've already spoiled myself on V3 though, what am I supposed to wait for
It's good. Ending sucks though
Jason Gutierrez
> That image.
Holy fuck it was good to be here then.
I love all of you.
Gavin Gutierrez
He was bullshitting, he wouldn't have lasted until the actual events of SDR2 if he really had it.
Cooper Stewart
I watched a translation of the first chapter and it was the best first chapter so far, so I have big hopes for the rest of the cases. It probably jumps off the ship near the end but, honestly, what Danganronpa doesn't?
>muh brainwashing >muh despair
Chase Clark
I can only assume V3 is like DR1-2 where the cases are great but the twists and story is awful.
Nicholas Green
Danganronpa in general is like this
Logan Wood
Basically
Jonathan Fisher
REAL FICTION
Joshua Morales
DUDE HIKUSHON LOL
Tyler Watson
Reporting in.
Adrian Torres
Juzo threads were best threads
Brandon Gray
Could you imagine how much better DR3 was if it was just a game with cases and the same characters?
Nicholas Robinson
Did you not remember DR1? The trap's death was damn near immediately retconned via AE. The biggest twist of the game was a retcon of a character death via swerve. DR2's gimmick basically made it so everyone could have the trap's DR1 out. Even the fat Kirigiri replacement was explicitly a sister setup to the trap's out.
Also Robo-Nidai.
Ethan Gomez
Reminder to Juzoboys that Juzo himself would probably beat the shit out of you talentless mooks without a 2nd thought for looking at him the wrong way.
