If a manga ranks at all, it can probably be considered a moderate success. Although for different publishers, expectations will vary. Numbers that would be considered a bestseller for a manga out of Kirara magazine could get a Weekly Shonen Jump series cut, for example.

Official info released by publishers, dust jackets mostly and doing the math to add up oricon sales, I have a twitter and a youtube account to update here and there the numbers.

For example, cover of :re stated 22 million in print for Tokyo Ghoul and I just add the sales from oricon to volume 10.

Fairy Tail is wrong for sure.

It doesn't really make sense to add Oricon with dust jacket numbers. Oricon releases sell-through numbers, and dust jacket is the print run. You shouldn't be adding them.

Because they like old fashioned way of doing things.
