I am learning Japanese. I'm just shit at it.

Too much of a hassle. I know some basic grammar, hiragana, katakana and kanji. Good enough for me

I'm only here because there is no /ko/.

I hate anime though.

Me dumb.

actual school takes too much of my time. I learn over summers though.

I'm trying. Thinking of signing up for a course in the fall.

i'm here because of the girl.
I successfully learned hiragana but after that i realized that i have no reason to learn japanese.
kanji is a pain in the balls tho.

I hate it

What if you only learned the spoken language? Your computer could transliterate Japanese into romaji for you to read. Is this a viable approach?

College language courses are shit user.
You're better off teaching yourself and investing those credit hours elsewhere.

kpop general on Sup Forums might as well be /ko/

I'm working on it. But I'm not too smart so its coming along slowly.

So which ones are real? I only recognize 犬 and 大.

How many of those are even jouyou kanji? I'm 1100 kanji in and only know 3 of those.

big fat dog

I am

i regularly watch a pair of spanish guys in youtube that live in japan.
One of them is an english teacher and other one works in a factory, he is shit at writing but he can speak japanese really well, the dude seems to be doing well and he's got a japanese wife i think (not sure if he was illegally living there at first).

If it worked for him it could work for you, i cannot see other reason to learn japanese besides living in japan or translating doujin/manga.

>Your computer could transliterate Japanese into romaji for you to read.
that's lame as fuck tho.

I can hold a conversation but I can't watch a full show or read a manga yet de arimasu! But I will try to do better in the future, OP-dono!

Big Dawg Thread!!
太 also applies if you fed the pupper

>college language courses are shit user

Maybe if your college is trash.

>you're better off teaching yourself

And cementing your own mistakes/bad habits? Great fucking advice.

three left one down
Kigu a shit

I learn better by hearing the word while it's being used in context better than actively studying with Anki.

The foreign service institute and CIA rate it as basically the hardest language and culture to learn and adapt to. I've been to Japan and loved it, but it's such a huge commitment and there's a .1% chance of me going back let alone moving there which would be the only real reason to learn such a difficult language.

Just because I like Spaghetti doesn't mean I'm goiing to learn Italian Paisano

io sonno imparare i'l italiano.
vale la pena?

Why would i want to learn nihong when i am already fluent in the best language in the world?

Yeah but how often do you read Italian manga and vn's?

Fuck off with your shit taste.

I don't like anime nearly as much. Fortunately.

Spanish or Portuguese?

I'm trying, but it's hard and I have no one to practice grammar with.
why can't they all just learn English.

I got stuck in grade 5 kanji. It seems my brain just rejects more moonrunes, not that I care since I can enjoy raw manga already.

I HATE IT!

I'm so glad I didn't start to learn English too late.
All those fucking tenses conjugations and exceptions man

I go into Nico Nico cruise and learn from the Japs on there.
