No other manga has a more genuine, and non-forced romance like this one. The natural chemistry between the main characters was just stellar. I honestly wasn't expect it to be so good.

This turned to shit after the first handful of chapter, while they still had a couple of issues (hiding the tattos and piercing, having to work to take care of the bother) it was still nice, but now it's just so fucking boring.

No, the main point is teasing and comedy. Anyone reading stories like that for the reason you just described is fucking stupid.

You are confusing point of view of the creators and point of view of the readers.

I read them for teasing and comedy, but they are written like that so people keep reading them.

It's like cliffhangers, they are supposed to get you to watch the next episode.

But the manga started off as "girl has obvious crush on oblivious boy and she's teasing him until he figures it out" and he's sort of figuring it out. It's like stalagmites and stalagtites eventually meeting into a pillar. It'll happen but it'll take millennia before the mangaka has covered every possible teasing interaction before he/she has to move on with the plot. Then it'll turn on to Kimi no Todoke where stupid high school romance drama pervades the plot until the mangaka dies of stomach cancer or closes the story with a hopeful outlook or some other equally trite and overused soft ending.

The anime is a great adaptation which in many ways makes the source material better but it has some filler arcs and doesn't cover the final arc

Definitely give it a shot
I recommend reading the manga(though beware the scans online aren't the greatest and they have a lot of small untranslated bubbles) and then checking the anime
